Widnes is a fantastic place without a doubt ,and the most friendly people you will meet ,I moved here 20 years ago best move ever made , it is a fantastic place
Black smoke never billowed from the power station and those 'chimneys' only ever emitted steam, same as any other power station. You also managed to miss out the new half of the town centre where everybody goes. Not a great vid if I'm to be honest.
You've not done Widnes justice here mate. Its got a good market and all them shops are all open every day bar Sundays and Tuesdays 😊 should go back its a nice place!
We go to Widnes avery few weeks just as a change from Warrington. My missus likes it and I go for a walk along the canal or a pint in Spoons. If you had carried on past Wilko's you wpuld have come to a line of larger retail units including M&S. You also missed the arcade that leads to the market.
Widnes Lancashire..the Mersey is the historic boundary between Cheshire and Lancashire..Widnes got lumped into Cheshire because of the formation of Halton but most folk in Widnes class themselves as Lancastrians
did you keep going round by Wilkinson's as there is actual some shops also you never went through green oaks a not just a car park we also have a cinema and bowling alley
I used to live in Frodsham, we used to shop in Widnes. What a shame such a nice old town is now dying. Fiddlers Ferry was always visible in the sky as the steam from those cooling towers condensed into the sky. I guess they will blow them up with tnt soon. I have to admit, East Devon, my new home is a lot prettier than Runcorn/Widnes. Good video Maccman.
You missed quite a few shops and especially the widnes market.. you should of gone to the end of the shopping park and turned right.. there is a number of big named businesses...
It seems that almost every town you feature is just empty shop units and depressing signs of decay... your documenting 15 years of Conservative Government and it's a crying shame.
Thinks it's more to do with online shopping and out of town retail parks myself. Of course if I'm wrong, expect town centres to be buzzing again after a few years under Labour. I'm not holding my breath.
What a hatchet job - you began at the top of Albert Road and stopped halfway down Widnes Road, failing to venture towards the old Town Hall. You obviously came to do this video with preconceived ideas about the town and frankly - that is not a good starting point. Many shops empty..wow….just about every town in the country has this problem, so why is it such a shock to you? You made your video before 10am knowing the streets would not be busy, if that suits your narrative about Widnes - then fine. Why didn’t you visit Victoria Park or the Widnes Vikings rugby league ground? Pex Hill? As I said - you did a hatchet job on Widnes that does not give you much credibility as a vlogger. Nothing wrong with Widnes in the grand scheme of things, sure - things could better just like in Warrington, St Helens or any other town in that region or any other region for that matter. I was expecting a good and fair minded video when I came across your vlog, but sad to say…this is anything but that 😢

Totally agree on both on both comments.

Looks nice round there
Another interesting vlog mark when the power station is gone I wounder what will be built in its place ?
Great. These. Videos. Bryan. From. Barrow in. Furness. Lancashire
Thank you Bryan.
You needed to walk past Wilko to find the shopping park shops. The market is also lively when it’s open.
Great vid bud

Widnes is not in Cheshire!
Widnes is an industrial town in the Borough of Halton, Cheshire, England-taken from wikipedia.
Wikipedia must be true then!
yeah it is halton but you don't write halton Cheshire on your address
Yes it is, I have letters next to me that prove it, always says Widnes Cheshire
@@DClike So what does that prove?
i,v just about photo widnes you didnt do much in widnes loads more to see
