Wait a second. The very last episode of the first season of the original Twilight Zone "A World of His Own" we follow a playwright who can summon anything to come to life if he speaks it into a specific dictaphone. He has more power than Alan Wake as he can freely make and unmake anything and it is implied in a tongue-in-cheek way that he's the actual creator of the Twilight Zone show, including Rod Serling.
I'll have to go back and rewatch that episode. I did the whole series in my early teens but was too young to really understand it all. Interesting though. We will discuss that idea in a bit. One episode teases the physical process of how the town erupts.
When I finally got into Control and Alan Wake I was delighted to find your channel and I'm even happier knowing that you're one of the few people whose last upload wasn't a year ago.
Oh yeah, I play AW and Control literally once a year (sometimes twice) and I’m always happy to come back and see this channel is still pumping out content on this universe.
I just can’t believe how utterly cool this all is. Remedy has crafted something so intricate and strange, and it’s immensely satisfying to slowly figure out how it all works together. I only started playing these games this year but this franchise has already captivated me more than almost any piece of media ever has. Thank you so much for your channel and the content you put out. I never would have gained this much appreciation for the Remedy-verse without a guiding hand to catch me up on what I’d missed out. Control is the only game I’ve personally played so far but I’m excited to work through Alan Wake here soon and any other games I can find and make time for before the sequel drops.
It would be cool if we got a spinoff called "Night Springs." It's similar to NMH: Travis Strikes Again where Travis has to beat a series of games in order to escape the Digital realm he finds himself in. So in this case, Alan would get stuck in a season of Night Springs episodes and has to follow the scripts to get out.
This is amazing! I was just rewatching NS episodes wishing there were more. Now suddenly you're doing a series on each episode. Hmmm did my mind bring that about,I wonder?
I'm not positive but I think it is mentioned by Alan or a manuscript. Yeah basically he was in the cabin when it got spat out into the Arizona desert. Kind of a rough landing so it broke up.
@@GamingUniversityUoG I think you're downplaying your skill. You clearly have a talent for writing and creating. Not blowing smoke, just calling it how I see it.
I haven't played anything from Remedy, but I absolutely adore the idea of "This TV show becomes reality if enough people watch it" Stories like these are a metaphorical treat!
It is a really cool idea from a story perspective. I can't wait to see what they do with it in the future. And dude if you haven't played these there is no better time to start. The series is incredible
Thank you so much! I'm honestly considering taking some vacation days when AW2 is released so we can have a party stream. I can't wait to dig my teeth into new Remedy content.
I remember reading about ,,Night Springs" in Control. It was some sort of a suggestion if I'm not mistaken. Something like ,,hey, we should use this Night Springs show and put AWE in there, so when people ,,claim" they saw a paranormal activity, others will be like ,,oh yeah, you seen that on TV.. you seen that in Nights Springs, it didn't really happen" while it did happen. I don't remember this so well tho

Dude play it! As much as Control is the central point in the setting because of the Oldest House, I'd argue Alan Wake is a central part narratively speaking.
It’s been more than two years since I ended Control and Alan Wake and it’s just so shocking how much information there’s still around. Two years looking into it and it still feels like I haven’t seen nearly half of it. Anyways your work is amazing, keep doing great.
I truly enjoy the content of this channel. It has allow me to understand more about the Remedy World specially Control. They way you explained everything is amazing.
So far the effects of media on the remedyverse have been limited to localized areas. What if a story becomes so well-known that changes on a large scale occur? What if those changes don't reverse back?
Really hope to see Night Springs or other fictional pieces of media in Alan Wake II... It could also be Night Spring Like a DLC 🙄🙄 Waiting for your analysis and discussion of each episode of Night Springs. Thanks! Great video...
The Night Springs episode "Over the Threshold, darkly" probably never aired. Alan adapted the story, while he was in the Dark Place, in order to achieve his purpose.
This is something minor but I think I know why the name night springs was chosen. Cause those weak points in the world when they erupt, the dark places otherworldly energies flood into our world like a dark tide. Keeping in theme with remedy's use of aquatic Imagery.
The origin of Mr. Scratch is verrrry similar to the plot of The Dark Half by Stephen King. Pretty sure they acknowledge this in the letter you cited around 4:40 which ends with AW calling it his dark half
All i want to know is why is there a split second of Darling from the Dynamite video on Night Springs (it's in the scene where we first see Alan in Control) I really didn't see anyone talking about this.

Watching this really makes me think of the World of Darknesses consensus reality. If enough people believe something to be true then it becomes so and throughout history organisations have deliberately manipulated the consensus to achieve certain results
How did Alan find out that there is a special place in Arizona? Is he traveling all around the states, while being in the dark ocean - writes transportation, then travels in it?
Don't know much about the alan wake/control universe, or night springs, but this does remind me a lot of abandoned by Disney and its shared works. Y'know, with all the "if you can dream it, it can be real" stuff. Inspiring.
@@GamingUniversityUoG not Disney proper, but there's a creepypasta called abandoned by Disney (I don't remember where it can be read) and it's related works. I think Dylan Faden created Jesse, based on an episode of Night Springs, written by Alan Wake, commissioned by the FBC, to create a better Director candidate.
