Excuse me? I came to the comment section expecting thousands of comments and at least hundreds of thousands of subscribers. This is beautifully presented!
Thank you, that's very kind. It helps that I'm used to writing things like this for the blog and so it has been a fairly natural conversion to put the content into videos as well 😎👍
Best tutorial I've seen on how I basically do my set photography and set up for film, and that it's in game and available to study and learn... blown away. Not like I wasn't already hugely impressed by Remedy and AW2, but the talent coming in and using it, my gosh. Hello brand new world full of photographers, DOPs, creatives ❤. Thank you for this amazing tutorial!
Thank you for the fantastic feedback. I've always been keen to emphasise the crossover and transfer of skills between in-game and IRL photography, so that's really great to hear. Check out the website too, you might be particularly interested in The Virtual Photography Awards on there as showcase of the level of talent that is out there😊👍
@TheFourthFocus definitely! I follow a few virtual photogs as it's an art form often snobbed but as your videos show, just as real as real is, but difficult to find everyone out there. Not everyone knows they are true artists! 💜
This was extremely informative. I'm not one for taking photos in video games, but for one or two here and there, but after seeing this? I want to. This was so well done, professional grade editing, voice over, and information! This was an amazing breakdown of photo mode and I learned some new things about cameras! :D
It's really great to hear that you found the video interesting and I really appreciate the feedback on the quality. I'm certainly no professional when it comes to video edits yet but if it inspires you at all to try the photo mode then I'll consider that a job done 😄👍
spot on video, i had been expecting a massive following but came upon somewhere somewhat quaint instead in numbers (both in subscribers and comments) the same way alan wake and remedy itself remains underrated, yet still masterpieces. this vid's very pro, i cant wait for other videos
There now is a short cut button to enter photo mode directly without going through the pause menu (not sure when exactly it was added). I believe, by default it is on "Y". Awesome video!
Just the kind of channel I wanted to find as I’m getting more interested in virtual photography. Have tried the AW2 photo mode a lot, but you gave some useful tips to further enhance my output. One thing that bugs me with most photo modes I’ve tried is the blank faces and vacant look on the face of the main character. In AW2 Alan is ok but Saga often looks ”blank”.
Yes, that can be a common problem, Jin in Ghost of Tsushima is especially bad for that. It can help when the photo mode includes facial expressions, though it's the ability to change the character's gaze direction that is really needed. Glad you found and like the channel, thanks for the comment😊👍
I like to imagine a horror game using photo mode, or where photo mode is a necessary part of the game needed to progress. You would be exploring the area once you enter it but then when you come back to your subject, suddenly their expression or pose has changed. Then you need to use certain camera settings in order to progress, like bringing into focus or out of focus certain objects. I don't know much about photography, but I do think it's possible to make a game from it. I know Valve were at one point developing a game called F-Stop. Imagine if Remedy made a game about photo mode where you play as Alice Wake.
Finding a game that inspires you to do so is always the right place to start. Have a look at the #AW2Photography hashtag on socials too to see what others are doing with it 😎👍
JFC, I love this game. Need to go back and play the DLC. I wish this wasn't locked to exclusivity on PC as it deserves much more financial success than it got.
what do you mean? I've got the game on Xbox from day one, also I've seen people who play it on PS5. Unless you're referring to the photo mode, but that was added to at least the Xbox version of the game
You just need to press "Hide Interface" and then take a screenshot of the clean image. The buttons will vary by platform but on PS5 for example, that is Triangle to hide the UI and the Create button to screenshot👍

That would be nice! Tell all of your friends...😄👍
Honestly a brilliant video! I'm not a photographer but I forwarded this to my fiance who hasn't played this game but loves photography!
You're a pro at making these PM videos. I really liked this one. The AW2 PM is so much fun to work with too 👌🏼
Thank you, that's very kind. It helps that I'm used to writing things like this for the blog and so it has been a fairly natural conversion to put the content into videos as well 😎👍
absolutely beautiful video! very well done, the quality is on point
Thanks for the feedback, very much appreciated 😊🙏

Might be the first game I actually use this feature for

I guess that's the flip side of having Epic as the publisher, they've helped get the game to market but exclusivity comes as part of that deal.

My photo mode doesn't display the " take photo" icon. How do I fix ?
