You must have been an elf in a former life. Your appreciation for nature is a clue...😉😉

I have lived the life of a recluse on an isolated small farm for 13 years now. I feel awkward and out of place at social events and am most comfortable wading the small river discovering small treasures. My son has chastised me a bit believing, rightly so I suppose, that being alone all the time is not healthy. But once you start engaging, those people you know inevitably want you to join them for many things. It’s a dilemma…my solution? Back to sea on a liveaboard yacht where I can pull anchor at any time when pressure becomes too much and go chat with the dolphins. I’m so excited to begin my new journey. I completely understand treasuring your little wild kingdom beyond the rock garden wall. Do watch for the leprechauns, sometimes they drink a little and may scurry about your feet.

I love this so much! Thank you for sharing so openly how you experience social events, how you go about life and who's company you prefer instead, I deeply relate.
I think it's most importantly to follow what feels right to me, even if it's not relatable or seems unhealthy to others. The most unhealthy thing one can do is go against one's own nature and deep belonging in my opinion. In saying this though, I agree with your son that putting oneself out there and joining some selected beautiful people for a good conversation or a good meal once in a while is definitely something which should neither be underestimated nor neglected.
But other than that finding small treasures in small rivers and chatting with the dolphins sounds like the most blissful interaction to me.
I'm convinced that there are some leprechauns scurry about my feet in my little wild kingdom (I love your wording) and I'm glad that you appreciate their presence as mich as I do😊

Thank you so much Rahel for your kind words. Yes, the hardest thing is breaking away from the expectations that have drilled into us and be free to spread our wings and fly free. I’ve had many more years of indoctrination than you. It took me so very long with many painful years to learn who I really am and live that life without guilt or pressure. There are so many who will never realize the freedom we enjoy. Stay strong and brave

Wunderbar Rahel!

You have such an awesome talent for narrating and filming 🎥. Thank you for letting us into your world and I hope the forest continues to be your private solitude. Your beautiful kitty 😺 cat 🐈 fits right in.

Aw thank you, George, your words deeply move me. You are so welcome! My cat fits right in indeed, she is so camouflaged that I oftentimes have trouble to see her in the forest. Most of the times she is sitting right in front of me wondering what I'm looking for🤔

You remind me of myself sometimes .
when I lived in Norway, where I could camp in my own Forrest, and stay there as long I wanted, and none knew that Forrest. I had a boat, and did go shopping, food and much to read. I could stay in the forrest for some days on the shortest, and up to some months on the most, I often left when the hunting season should start.
And use the free wild nature, I cannot do it here in the Philippines, the laws is different, so I miss it a lot.
So if you see a guy with a dog with green dragon clothes on, don't be afraid, I will never reveal to anyone who I see. I just walk the places where it looks most wild and untuched. I have tried to leave the Philippines for years now, and first now it looks like I can leave in October. But I will try live in the large island first, but visiting the other islands as well. I already check the Acores air for have my dog Pluto in the cabin. And that they said yes, off course, a dog should not be alone from the owner as long it is possible to take it in the cabin, and not store it in the bagage room. And passport, vaccines. But I am looking for a apartment to rent.

Thank you so much for sharing the importance of forests and solitude in your life. Your description of your forest adventures in Norway sound absolutely amazing. What a beautiful memory to look back on. I'm hope that one day soon you are able to roam freely in nature as you used to in the past. Crossing my fingers that your moving plans go smoothly. Best wishes!

I spend time alone not far from home. The solitude is calming. I take my sketch pad with me and spend three happy hours to myself. The trees are starting to bud and before long they will be green. I enjoy the simple things. Life has it's moments. Going on a walking tour is always fun. Helda comes with me. She is so loveable. She trusts everyone right off the bat. Someone always has a biscuit for her. You can hear the Ptarmigans. People eat Ptarmigan. They make good eating. I don't have the heart to shoot one of them. They get fed. The weather has improved and all snow is gone. It is time to prepare for Summer.

Richard, this glimpse into your springtime every day is heartwarming to read! I love that you value solitude, cherish walks with your dog and feed Ptarmigan instead of eating them. Thank you for sharing 🙏

The experience of watching this video of such an "Enchanted Forest" is difficult to portray in words.
Perhaps I can describe it thusly--when I was a boy I treasured a book entitled " The Tales of King Arthur", scattered throughout the book were about 8 or 10 beautiful color prints---one in particular has never left me--it is of Lancelot resting on a large rock deep in the forest seemingly recoving after some physical endeavor.
Your newest piece of art once again evokes within me the sweetest of childhood memories

Dear Dorn. I do not know this book but I can vividly imagine what you are describing and it makes me very happy to read that my enchanted forest was able to evoke these precious memories of yours. Thank you so much for sharing!

Wonderful Rachel, reminds me of my carefree childhood adventures, my only boundary was to be home before dark. Have you read The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett?

    • @RahelStadler
      @RahelStadler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank you, Nick, this means so much. It was my main intention to put all of us into this childlike, carefree spirit for a moment and it feels so rewarding that you have felt reminded of it.
I have not read the Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett but I have heard so much great things about this book, so I guess it's time to read it?
