WHAT MAKES WINTER IN THE AZORES SO SPECIAL TO ME

Winter in the Azores can be harsh. Wild storms, torrential rain, frosty winds and extreme humidity can be very challenging, especially when lasting weeks at a time but then there are these magical winter days like the one I am sharing in this video which always make up for all the harshness. Aside from the weather there is something about winter in the Azores which makes winter not only special but my favourite season here.

A little bit about myself

My name is Rahel, I'm from Germany and in 2015 I moved to the Azores to work as a second skipper for a Whale-watching company. In 2020 I lost my job and began filming to document and share the mesmerizing landscape and peacefulness of this remote place in the middle of the Atlantic. Now I make videos full time and live a simple and quiet island life in an old stone house on Pico Island.
In my slow paced videos you get to explore unique nature and a different way of living and perceiving life.
