  • I show how you can save a bunch by replacing the positive cable (BST-Battery Safety Terminal) on your BMW yourself.

Excellent video...my issue was on a 1SERIES (E81). There was a recall in May2018 and the dealership disconnected my aftermarket stereo nearest the front battery (while I believe they changed this part nearest the back battery). I've had 3 separate mechanics (including ex-bmw mechanic) confirm they didn't need to disconnect my stereo for the recall. Now I have to pay for stereo to be reconnected - this video lets me talk specifics from visual knowledge. Kind Regards Dr S you explained very well your repair.

Thank you from New Zealand. After many days of wondering about my car starting issue, I now know why. I have power, but enough to start the car.

Best video I've seen about this so far but would've been nice to see you taking the cable apart and explaining that a little bit better. The radio is distracting also.

Nice, the airbag light just pup out randomly on the dashboard, after OBD scan and investigation the code error, I figured out that the issue is with battery plus cable. Need to do the same. Thanks for very detailed manual🎉

Make sure you wear safety glasses when you pop those rivets because they come flying out of there with enough Force to split the eyelid. Sharing because of a friend.

Hello. This video is very useful. I'm thinking about trying it on my 2009 BMW 328i. My question is - what year BMW was the car in the video? I'm trying to figure out if the cable I need is the same as yours or not.

Does this process work for a 2010 GMC Acadia? Your Video is the only one I’ve found that I can follow or shows how to replace it

Hi! Do you know the correct size for the bigger wire going straight to engine bay? 25mm2? My cable has been replaced near the terminal by cutting. The jointing is a total nightmare and I don't want to remove the connection to check the cauge.

Awesome video. I never thought you could change the end of the cable that has the battery terminal. I now have something to do. Thanks for uploading the video.

I'll have to look and see if that connector is loose because I'm messing with someone's where there is a lot of heat in that cable and high resistance I don't know if it got pulled on it wasn't even charging the battery it was at like 12.9v and up front it was 14 v I'm actually surprised the car started with that much resistance I was just barely cranking but the battery was low and with a jump box it did start but barely

Question; What happens if I just replace that safety positive cable ,but not fix the blowout airbag(crash in my car),?,Ther is no possibility of that safety positive cable blowout again?.Thanks in advance for your response.
