The first song is Minor Swing, one of the best known Gypsy Swing pieces made famous by the Maestro, Django Reihnhardt, accompanied by stephanne Grappeli. The Second track is a Tango by Astor Piazola called Libertango.
+clive seymour Clive, your post is from a year ago. Can you tell me a little about the real gypsies, their heritage, culture, music. I love this music. I need to read a good book on their history, but since they generally didn't attend schools, at least for very long, their history is rather a mystery? I hope you see this and tell me how you know about these musicians .... Thank you :)
@@JanDurgen I have a theory as to how they got their music. I guess this is also a little bit of history too. the gypsy people got around pretty much all of europe and the Mediterranean area. I heara lot of influence from the Iberian Peninsula, germany, and italy mostly but their style of music was probably influenced by every country. The gypsys would hear music they liked and take it back to their caravan and adopt its styles into its own. Over time they created their own sound from all these different styles. I know its been 4 years and im bot the guy you asked but i hope that helps you understand a little but more about this group of people.
what a great trio! i am surprised at so many people passing right by this wonderful moment. stop and give yourself some time to take in this beautiful art form. let it swing!
this is so beautiful, art. its just a different kind of joy then the one i get from folk, blues and pop or even classical music. its life, its so vivid!
They are so good. Love hearing the songs this way. So funny. The first time I heard Libertango was back in 1981 of Grace Jones first album. Loved it then too. Hope these guys are playing bigger places. They are fantastic.
Great musicians, sound is pretty good all things considered. Any more of this? Good to know this is music still living! Excellent rendition of Libertango. The Maestro is smiling on this version!
BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO MAGNIFICO ZUUUUUUUIPER BUENO HERMANOS Buena música y jazz tocada por jente joven muy rítmicas dinámica mucho sentimiento integrado en su ejecución
The first song was Minor Swing, by Django Reinhardt, a wonderful rendition of a wonderful Gypsy Jazz classic, I might and, and the second song was Libertango, by Astor Piazolla, the pinnacle of Tango Neuvo, also done quite amazingly.
Marvellous by everyone and nearly untopable. They n e e d a c l a r i n e t. I suggested Hamburg s Martin Schmidt-Hahn on clarinet because of his warm clarinet-sound and his brilliant ideas !!
Pretty amazing what kind of talent one finds on the streets. This is a great group. The violinist, Joshua Bell, a few years back played on the streets of my city to see who, if any, would recognize him. Few did although I was one of the few. I gave him a fiver before I recognized him.
+jordanaug81 Yes, the accordionist effortlessly puts out perfection. No accidental slurring together of two keys at the same time here !!! Wow. I love that violinist, too :) All of them are GREAT
great find, Steve. Thanks for these two pieces. The first one from Django Reinhardt's Minor Swing. The second looks to be an arangment of Kurt Weill's Youkali Tango Habanera

+Harry Stergo Oh, thank you for that information....
Gypsy Jazz isn't necessarily played by Gypsies, just like Hip Hop isn't necessarily played by Black Americans.
