I was at Abbey Road on Jaycen’s mixing summit in July. He did a low end course there too. I really enjoyed it. He’s such a great guy and was lucky enough to have a quick chat with him. He’s exactly like how he was when Warren interviewed him. Love these podcast / interview videos. Please keep doing them 😊Thx PLP team for these videos 😁
There already is an abundance of 'medium' music. AI can't change that. The good thing is, great music comes from feelings. Feelings come from individual life experience. AI doesn't have that.
Actually feelings come also from the Audience, which can feels stuff from music made by AI. The same way as people can cry when watching a Pixar character cry. AI music could be the same as this, more or less : Generated by AI, but scripted by humans => abilities to feel emotions listening to it :). Just my 2 cts :).
@@WheelieMix Not sure. Every person has a limited amount of life experiences, trauma, elation etc. Those unique combinations when paired with talent give us great songs. AI has access to all those parameters from everywhere, but not in a limited unique way. I think it would be like trying to make the worlds best pie by using every ingredient in the world. It's too confusing. Who knows? time will tell. But it's irrelevant really. There's already a saturation of music, so what's another couple of buckets of water going to change? I wouldn't worry yet, everything I've heard AI produce so far musically and in video has been awful.
@@grahamtaylor6883 Yeah I don't worry too, it's just a tool. But it's a bit like people that were saying "People will never emotionally connect with CGI actors". And yet Pixar are super successful and actually makes very emotional movies (because scripted by humans). So let's see in the future :D.
Warren looking snazzy in that vest, man! Looks like a lot of fun to be had in Hamburg, and I really like that everyone had their own headphones - quite unique and cool!
So many advancements with Ai lately! It has been loads of fun playing with some of it and developing. Some of the current stuff will allow disabled folks to play music easier and allow better translation of languages. Thanks for sharing your masterclass stuff! Sam and I love getting to check them out :)
Mixing is soooooo important for music to get its best presentation to your ears. Too much bass or low end can be a big turn-off to my ears and can overpower the vocals and other instruments. Getting this formula or low-end mix right is the first step to having a proper soundstage. I hear so many live shows, youtube videos, and recorded music that get this wrong. Also, a great bass line or backbeat needs to be heard as so many great hit songs have demonstrated. Thanks so much for this video!
It's not, actually. The bass doesn't react that well to effects in the master bus. If you separate it, let it live in it's own world, it's gonna roam free and conquer the land.
yes finally somebody says jobsworth... i always have think of it like a stickler person whom cares more for own's institutional proceedures rather than helping others to get anything done. but instead the contary - to actively prevent anything from getting done if it deviates even 1 inch from any of many made up or even fake regulations to be enforced / denied / thrown back in face. so a self-interested beaurocratic. who puts ticking predetermined boxes over and above all else (or at total exclusion of all else).
That is a huge numbers game. I have a load of music in film and TV and the only people making real money in that world are people who own a huge amount of music, predominately libraries. However, the custom world is where the real money is made.
At 8:40 -ish, the stuff about AI is exactly how visual AI (images, video) is being used now. Well, at least in commercial world. To be able to quickly create references that look like what the designers and directors are aiming for is fantastic. Pitching multiple ideas is so much faster now, with AI tools. And oh boy how fast those tools are being developed, with no sign of slowing down...
I’m a guitarist I’m not the greatest. I’ve been at it for a lot of years and honestly shredding is the most boring sound there’s no emotion and feeling I’m not impressed by it I don’t care about it frankly it’s quite irritating that’s really where I can see in a lot of current music is really very boring because there’s no or let’s say it’s lacking human inspiration with talent. Do you have people that are really good with these electronics and with the current studio systems they have instruments in it and they can go in and just bang out your even know what you’re doing you’re supposed does it sound and key yeah OK I keep it and then you keep moving. I’ve become very uninspired at the age of 61.
Except this new "song" generation crap.... But "somehow" sounds like decades and decades of performances that already exist. It's time for some transparency. Companies like Udio that are morphing preexisting performances... Including camping and morphing two or more pre-existing singers... And the vocal performances into "original new songs".... Trying to find the cheat code to make AI sound creative and more human. It's just stealing people's hard-earned art... Stealing the original art and trying to morph it with other original art to evade the copyright laws... Without anybody's permission. It's definitely wrong. Our laws were not prepared to handle it. We need some serious transparency and new regulation.

Same dilemma as "plugins will never sound better than hardware"
I absolutely love getting to see stuff like this. You’re amazing, Warren.
Thanks ever so much Bobby! You Rock my friend
Love how you say Hamburg. You know how to say it right. 😊❤greetings from germany.
Warren looking snazzy in that vest, man! Looks like a lot of fun to be had in Hamburg, and I really like that everyone had their own headphones - quite unique and cool!
Yes! Thanks for the compliment
The headphones sounding pretty darn good for Bluetooth headphones

Thanks ever so much my friend!
You Rock Manny!
I've the same mug with those little ladybirds...
Does anyone know the name of the software that Jaycen mentions for stripping stems from a stereo track??
Cool video ! Low end is always very hard to mix!
Thanks ever so much

Indeed, control the low end before it gets anywhere near the mix bus@@xanderpills
Great video! BTW, the multitracks link is broken.
Fixing it but please check your email
insta-like! Thanks

@@Producelikeapro same exact as you my friend - it's my goto word "jobsworth" for saying this 🤍
Great Mr, Warren.
Thanks ever so much!
9:26 tell me now… which rhythm was that 😁😁😁
itll affect you, based upon the way you respond to it
Where was the Low end Masterclass in this video?
Not sure what happened. My phone must've quit before I could hit send again. 😊
Haha I see that!
Live concerts era will come back. Snice people can "fake" vocals/instruments in audio world.
There’s a lot of incredible shows out there! Huge talent

Warren you should give a crap about the bed music on tv. That is big income source putting composers to work.

Jaycen gained some weight 😮

I am not sure this youtube guy is really a pro. Hope that he really can produce like a pro...

Jaycen Joshua, great mixing engineer...How come that it doesn't know how to hold a microphone correctly (in the beginning of the interview) ? ahahah
