Brought back some good and some not so good memories with these photos. I revisited Swinton 2 years ago, and it's not changed too much, thankfully.

Thanks for all those memories, it would be nice if you could trace some old photos of the Wardley area and Moorside Road

This is the best one of Swinton old memories i have seen so far. This was our stamping ground between 1964 and 1969 we were a bunch of bikers, our local was the Rutters {Weavers Arms on Swinton Hall Road ) also the Square one club bottom of Station Road (ex Wishing Well ) . I will give you some name's please get in touch if you remember any of us. Myself, Bernie Jones, i had a Triumph Tiger 110 and an old Jeep, Graham Daley, David Parry, Graham Cartwright, Pete Covanah, Barry Sharples, Barry Hargreaves, Trever Pritchard. there were some lads from Walkden, Gig, Zak, Mitus, Leggy, Orpos, and some others i can not remember and there were some lads from Eccles. I will speak to my mate Daley and come back to you with more names including all the girls from our time and more of our lot from Swinton.

Didn't go to Swinton much, but I did work at the bus depot on maintenance in its final years. I happened to be there the day it was announced it was closing. I went back afterwards to help empty it and send stuff to other depots, and of course take photos

Thanks for putting this video together it brings back some great memories of my younger days where I grew up and I remember working at the Acme Mill in the seventies and my dad taking me to Swinton baths learning me to swim. The good old days and very fond memories. I am now going on 64 years old and live in Blackpool but I do enjoy going back to Swinton every few years just to see if much has changed.

I used to walk past FEB on the way to St. Agustines' primary school back in the 80s

Correction...the bus depot is not on Worsley Road but on Partington Lane....How do I know? I lived across the road from it in my youth before Bellway Housing...

Chloride and Pilkingtons pumped millions into the Swinton economy, but all that has gone now and Swinton seems a very poor and scruffy town now.
