@@starz65invt Yeah, it's a common misunderstanding. People see the word Grammy and think nomination. The posts say "for your consideration", essentially asking the voting members of the Recording Academy to consider voting for them. But it is a 3-step process: submit a recording, first round of voting to determine Nominees, second round of voting to determine Grammy winners. And I agree, it would be cool for them to get a nomination. 🙂
I believe the "considerations" are 2 for The Way You Make Me Feel (Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella, and Best Traditional R&B Performance) and 1 for Hellfire (Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella). Not sure about The Way You Make Me Feel, but I understand from Heldra Draco that Elizabeth Zharoff (The Charismatic Voice) is the one that put them up for Hellfire.
I really like that the costuming is a homage to Michael Jackson's iconic outfit without being gimmicky. Geoff's laugh sent chills up my spine the first time I heard it!
The Floor Zombie that bit Layne’s ankle was Kathy Castellucci. The Stunt Zombie that went flying was Greta the Gruesome made up to look like Kathy’s zombie.
When I heard Geoff laugh in “Enemy,” I thought he sounded like Vincent price rom the OG version of this song. He absolutely crushed that narrative part!
Makeup was by Rick Underwood and Renette Feren. The "zombie infection" was Rick's idea. As others have said, Kathy Castellucci is the zombie that bites Layne. It was her idea, during setup for the shoot, to have Layne kick "her" away. The doll Layne kicks resembles Kathy's character thanks to Rick Underwood's magic and is from Spirit Halloween . They call her Greta the Gruesome (actually, she's Little Greta and Kathy is Big Greta). Something interesting to note, once he becomes a full-fledged zombie, Geoff never blinks when on screen.
The more I watch this the more I keep finding new little tidbits. When J runs to the door, it’s such a typical horror film moment: the victim can’t open the door. I love how his voice is so tremulous like he’s really scared that the guys are going to get him. Oooops! They did!🤣 🧟😳🎃🥕🤧👻😱🧟♂️ I have to laugh at Cesar’s reaction when Layne sneezes on him. Eli yells at him and he looks so dejected. Cesar is just so adorable. His expressions and his gestures just cry out “but it wasn’t my fault Dad!” (J also just released a single: TGIF Glide with Stefan Salters. Some of the VoicePlay family is in the video toward the end when they’re doing the glide. I love that they’re such good friends and want to spend time with each other. J even brought the crazy motorcycle/mini Batmobile apparatus to the studio so the guys could see it. That little contraption is featured in J’s video.)
I love how much of the original video they managed to cram into this without overdoing it or making it gimmicky or satirical. J. None did a quick execution of MJs signature moves, one quick replication of MJs most famous vocal flourish, just enough of the dance moves to show they know the materian (and know we want to see it). And that's entirely aside from the musical genius involved here.
Love this Geoff’s arrangement works so well. The video is ace including Geoff’s beautiful wife Kathy being zombified! Your let’s do it again was filled with such joy think that says it all 😊
Brilliant!! I agree 100%. Phenomenal performance and the best of VP. Love the fact that you did an instant replay. The best songs deserve the encore! Loved it!
Notice the carrot through Layne's head toward the end? I see that the carrot joke between Layne and J.None is still going strong. 🤣 Perhaps sometime soon VoicePlay will hold another charity auction with the props from this video.
After about two dozen times of listening to this version, I actually prefer it. The harmonies to me tell the story better than instruments. I just love this so much
Halloween Kings strike again! With help from Zombie Kathy of course. The yeet across the studio was her idea. The MJ video was 17 minutes long and I love how they compressed it but lost none of the story. Geoff, Vincent Price-‘nuff said.
Kathy was doing the zombie biting Layne. She had gone shopping for a doll (Greta Gruesome) that was dressed like her and Layne looked like he wanted it out of the park. What a Halloween treat!
It was their makeup guy who sold them on the idea of the progressive zombie transformation. The shoot was long and challenging, but WOW was it worth it!
I’m getting so I watch more VoicePlay videos. I love your reactions! Your laugh always says that this will be good. Thank you so much for your love of music (and college football!!). I always enjoy the time I spend with you, Lyle ❤ 🎶 Cyd
Voiceplay has been nominated for 2 Grammys 1 for hellfire and 1 for the way you make me feel
I am so excited. It would be amazing for them to win.
Not nominated yet. Just up for consideration for nomination. The voting window closed on Oct. 15th. The Nominees will be announced on Nov. 8th. 🤞🏻
@@Debs_Badger i thought they were nominated it would be cool

Yes, that was a very good rendition of MJ's Thriller. You probably know by now that it was Kathy who bit Lane on the ankle. Great story telling.
I love them so, so much.

J channelling his inner MJ

"everybody killed it"? more like everybody "died".😉😂😂😂
Please tell me someone else caught that Layne's "bolts" actually was a CARROT.
Yep, said it in the reaction
@@PatrolNation How on earth did I MISS that? I feel like a right idiot now. So sorry! :)

LOL, I enjoyed that a lot.
Truthfully, I like this video better than MJ's original.
Me, too!
It tells a better story. They are acting out the story not a bunch of dancing
@@laundrygoddess4 I think the transformations from human are done much better. The subtlety and the little bit of a change at a time are stunning.
@@nightthornkvala94132 completely agree. The original was about Michael. This was about the song
So much fun!
