    Very cool, thank you. I love the look of the FDNY trucks and the fact that a lot of the companies put names and slogans on them ("Dirty Dozen" on Tower 12, etc.).

    How are u just gonna sit there and block the fire trucks with your car. A huge red truck with sirens going off and you dont think they need you to move your ass outta the way.

    Looks like fire hydrants in New York City are reversed from other Cities. Where I work, clockwise shuts off, counter-clockwise turns on.

      I think the ones in our city are like that too.... Primarily "Darling" and "Clow / McAvity"?? Hydrants here, the one they connected to looks like a clow/McAvity

    It's weird to see citizens act like as if they don't notice fire trucks going by.

    Nothing says Merry Christmas than a fully lit FDNY fire truck. I just wish I had a pair of them in small scale fully lit up sitting on top of my TV stand.

  • @jrftworth
    @jrftworth 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I can't believe that FDNY still uses vector light bars. That's ancient technology and for roughly the same amount of money, they could be getting LED's. I bet someone is getting very rich having the monopoly on FDNY and NYPD these light bars.

    • @justanotherghost4589
      @justanotherghost4589 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vectors are always a classic, ik there's LED vectors that some units use tho

    • @zz449944
      @zz449944 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think LED's suck -- the light doesn't penetrate as far a distance, but mostly they flash too damn fast and become a distraction.

      default for FDNY, for any structure fire, is 2 eng, 2 ladder and a battalion

    The fire truck looks a little cramped in between the two delivery trucks @ 2:27. Still great capture and was it a fire or just self extinguished before firefighters got there?

    Note that when the FDNY firefighters get off the truck, they are ready for battle. Drives me crazy seeing some others show up and THEN put on the gear. That's why there are chiefs. Make them don the gear and get ready to fight fires. or find another gig

    Two ladder trucks arriving way before the engine companies. Why?

    • @46fd04
      @46fd04 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Why? Maybe the first Ladder truck was on the road, just around the corner when the call came in. Over my 28 year career, its happened to me a couple of times where a call came in, and we were right in front of the building!
      Update - 2 days ago we were stopped in front of a building when a fire call came in for the building. The Staff ran outside and couldn't believe how fast we were LOL
