President Biden travels to the UN, fighter jet gets fuel and a fire breaks out nearby in New York

- Watch as President Biden travels within a large motorcade of security vehicles to the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, accompanied by Secretary Blinken. Additionally, we see President Zelensky's motorcade leaving, a fighter jet on patrol pull in to get fuel from a tanker, and a fire breaks out in a high rise building near the United Nations HQ.
President Joe Biden traveled with Secretary of State Blinken to the United Nations Headquarters in New York City for the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The street was shut for several blocks between his hotel and the UN building with NYPD lining the route and Highway Patrol closing each intersection. The US Secret Service were in charge of the whole security operation. President Zelensky of Ukraine travelled in a smaller motorcade, and the street was not blocked.
The airspace is restricted wherever the US President is. Outside of Washington D.C., there is a constant flight of fighter jets patrolling over where the president is staying. This is known as the 'Combat Air Patrol' aka 'CAP'. The CAP will intercept any aircraft that breach the temporary flight restrictions. An Air-2-Air tanker is always on station to receive any fighter jets that need fuel during this period, as seen in the video.
Shortly after the motorcade passed, a fire broke out at a nearby high rise building on 40th Street where security were staging, just two blocks from the United Nations HQ. Several engines, trucks, battalion chiefs and special apparatus from the New York Fire Department (FDNY) responded, including High Rise Unit 2. The fire was quickly knocked down, there were no reported injuries, and units left shortly after.

I used to work along the route all of the motorcades took to the U.N. It was crazy how you could tell the importance of the head of state based on the size of the motorcade. So, every head of state gets a motorcade, regardless if it is someone like France or some small African country. I recall the Times did a story once about the leader of a small African country wanting to see all of the sights in NYC, and loving that he got a police escort all around. I believe the respective embassy has to reimburse the NYPD for their security.

That's the HAMMER unit. Used by the Hazardous Agents Mitigation Medical Emergency Response team. Basically deals with any Hazardous Material threats to the President, and provides medical care and rescue if needed.
As the tallest and largest vehicle in the motorcade, it is also often used as a barrier.

About 10 years ago my wife and I were staying in San Francisco, on 7th south of Market. That evening, unbeknown to us beforehand, then-President Obama arrived in town for a fund-raising event further downtown. So we had 2 helicopters doing lazy 8's most of the night and black-and-whites of SFPD patrolling every street! Of course, nothing happened and Obama was gone the next day.

@@1mmickk likely auxiliary units. They do things like scene and traffic control but aren't full police officers.
the NYPD personnel with the white caps and high vis vests are NYPD Traffic Enforcement, they handle traffic direction duties as well as being "meter maids" that walk/drive down streets looking for parking violations. They are not police officers. NYPD also has the NYPD Auxiliary which is volunteer "junior cops" sort of, they're unarmed but work patrol duties and have police powers when on duty with commissioned police officers

The white house releases a schedule for major events like this one at the UN and also a daily schedule for the smaller every day stuff. And that's why the POTUS has all that security, anyone can know where he'll be.
Lastly, if you wanna find responding officers, u might need a HAM or smth im not sure, but I'm sure there is an app where u can see crime near you and you can go and stand a couple blocks away and capture the responding vehicles.
