I also bought this baseplate last week. And i seriously love it, the camera will indeed feel better in the hand. But it also gives it a little bit more volume. So a battery grip is no longer needed!
The front dial is one of the best features designwise of the a6700, if you dont use it i dont know what to say, assign it to the aperture like everyone else.
Thanks for the feedback. I used the 6600 for so long, I'm not used to having the wheel up front. So I just did aperture on the back wheel. What do you have on the back wheel if aperture is on the front?
@@gibbage1 With the addition of the front dial the 67 can operate like a normal camera and thats fantastic. Normally the front wheel gets the aperture, the back wheel gets the shutter and the ring dial gets the iso.
@@madmancasacreativa3 Thanks for the info! I started photography a little more than a year ago with an A6000, and then into an A6600. So I never had a front dial so I didnt know what "normal" is. Since I spent more than a year without, it was just in the way for me. I stay in Aperture or Shutter priority, and dont go into manual.
I got the Peak Design clip for my camera sling. I also got the Smallrig Camera Cage Wrist Strap on the bottom mount plate and it makes the camera super handy to use, and its only $12 on Amazon! This is an amazing combo for quick walk-around work.
Its possible that it fits the A7CII or CR but I dont know. Its a VERY tight custom fit and will most likely not fit any other cameras. Check with SmallRig for a base plate for your camera.
Appreciated you taking the time to demonstrate this product. Thanks!

I agree! The camera feels like it has so much more substance over the A6600. Never taking this thing off.
Receiving it yesterday made me wanna buy it months earlier.

@@gibbage1I put zoom there
Did you ever get a qd attachment clutch for this? Curious on what one you went with if you did.

Will this fit to other sony camera bodies?

What’s the pink thing on the right? 😂😂😂
Its my 3 year olds toy ice cream cone. =) When your toddler hands you something, you smile, thank them and put it on your desk to be forgotten about.
