Noticed those who said was experiencing this all have Android devices. Called support and they wanted me to send an example. Just sent email with example and waiting to here back. Hopfuly they can find an answer to get rid of the unsalvageble distortion that happens within 2 minutes of filming.
@@thepsl1 No. Technical support said something about the phone itself creating distortion. Even sent them an example. They recommended to return it. Several others with the s21 ultra had same issue with distortion. Few of us called and got the same answer.

I'm not aware of any adaptors that allow you to attach a cold shoe mount to a computer/laptop. It shouldn't be too hard to find one, or make one though!
just get mine, i like it so far. the only big big down side is: I need to put my protection case of my phone,to attach the mico. so its always scary to hold..

Hey Visar, at this stage the SmartGrip only comes as part of the Vlogger kits. You may be able to find third party options at your local camera/technology retailer.
In your video you say, I can shoot also vertical videos?!? An example or image for this functionallity is missing. Or do you have images to demonstrate the vertical video option?
Instead of attaching the SmartGrip to the Tripod 2 via the thread on the bottom of the grip, you can attach it via a thread on the side of the grip. This will rotate the phone (and grip) 90 degrees to vertical.
The kit looks great! I am using the RodeMic voor iOS. The only thing i don't like is the open headphonejack in the back. Yes it's very handy but when you don't use it, it gets a lot of windnoise. I would sugest to put a little rubber plug with it to close off that headphonejack. Also for inside, put a little foam shield with it. I orderd one from another place and it works nice for inside recordings.
Is the microphone & light waterproof in any way. My phone is, and this vlogger kit will mainly be used on hiking trips - my experience even in dry sunny West Australia is lots of rain when I venture out on multi day hikes!

If we are sitting on a couch with the kit set up in front of us on a table (in a triangle format), will the mic be sufficient to pick up our conversation as we talk to each other? The sound direction would be at a 45-degree angle in that case.
If you're both situated in front of the mic you shouldn't have any issues getting good audio from both of you! The key here would be getting as close to the mic as possible, that will get you better audio. Another product I'd recommend looking into is the SC6-L Mobile Interview Kit. This comes with the SC6-L and two smartLav+ lavalier microphones.
I am eyeing either the Vlogger Kit (Universal) or the Wireless GO II Dual Compact Wireless Microphone System for my Samsung Note 10 Plus. Both seems to be great but the Wireless Go II seems to be more for long term and flexible as it can be used with notebooks/desktops on situations like small gathering presentations. For the Universal Vlogger Kit, I need to get a USB-C to 3.55mm adapter that supports DAC for my Note 10 Plus. Is the case that holds the ball on that tripod transferable to a taller tripod? I have my own taller tripod but don't know if it has the same sized thread compared to the tripod included in the Vlogger Kit.

How water resistant are they? Not gonna take it underwater, but if I was on a water ride at a theme park or get splashed by a wave at the beach, will need to be mildly or very concerned?
I wouldn't recommend getting the microphone wet. They haven't been designed to be water resistance so I can't guarantee it will continue to work properly after getting wet.

In 2015 when I did VLogging from events and conventions, this would have been a thing. The VLog thing is in the past. Sadly. But it is. I have a microphone arm at my desk which carries my webcam and a small condenser mic. This is perfect. Still, RODE mics are great. Keep it up!
I would get the VideoMic NTG if you’re wanting to use your phone for podcasting. It sounds better than the VideoMicro and VideoMic Me. I have all 3 and the NTG sounds the best and is the most versatile.
Ok I'm not debating the quality of this product because we know it's going to be good because its Rode. But but but,,,, It doesn't work with most android stock camera apps. I have a Sony Xperia 1.11 and I simply cannot get it to work using the 3.5mm TRRS cable. And it's not just me as there are thousands of other users having the same problem. So Rode really needs to address this issue by not stating that it can be used with all smartphones. Pretty excited about getting this only to find that I couldn't use it with my £1.200 phone. Can you suggest how I might be able to get it to work before I return it?.

Hey there- here are a few tips and notes: - Our customers often find that their phone case is blocking their VideoMic from being used with their phone. To be sure, make sure to take your phone case off and try again. - iOS does not have an indicator that a mic is being used. The only way to know for certain is to make a recording, tap/scratch the mic's surface and see whether that shows up in the recording. - Since iOS leaves it up to individual developers to code in support for wired microphones, some apps do not support them. However the default camera app does, so that will help you troubleshoot whether the device is connected and functional.
I have really bad experience with this kit, and see a lot of other people have had similar experinces as me. Every take is ruined by horrible digital noise that comes in after 40-60 seconds. Got a replacement kit, same thing happened. Tried it with Samsung Galaxy S21, S21 Ultra and Huawei P30 Pro - same result every time, completely useless. I see that a lot of other users report the same problem, but Rode support hasn't provided a solution.
Hey Svetlin, assuming you’re talking about connecting the VideoMicro to your computer, in which case yes - you will just need an SC7 cable and plug the grey end into your computer.
But no gimbal to steady the camera or face tracking that the DJI OM 5 provides. So although you provide a mic and light, without a gimbal, this is a NO BUY for me.

The MicroLED and mics have not been designed to be waterproof. I wouldn't recommend exposing them to moisture.

problem is: it only makes sense horizontal. so no instagram content creation with that kit... a shame!
Not true, you can rotate your phone 90 degrees for TikTok, Reels or Stories and it works great!
