  • Do you struggle with your mental health & live in the UK? You could be entitled to some Government Funding that is in place to help you remain independent for as long as possible.
    Its does not matter what condition you have, it could be:
    - Depression
    - Anxiety
    - PTSD
    - OCD
    - Eating Disorders
    - Dyslexia (not sure if this counts as mental health - sorry if this is in the wrong category)
    - ADHD
    Any of the above, many of the above or something I have not listed. If you condition/s impact your daily living in a negative manner you could be entitled to this support.

    WHO AM I:
    My name is Charlie and I am disabled. I live with chronic illness, I have a severe form of Psoriatic Arthritis and its crap! I am in pain all the time and always battling fatigue. BUT, I will not let it win. I love to learn and to laugh (even though it hurts my arthritic rib cage LOL). You will often see Ollie (she) my black Labrador. She is currently my trainee assistance dog! We are together, literally ALL the time.

    While an excellent pip series you all Must read the current legislation word for word. It is what the judges have or should follow. Not easy and has changed a little since I had to assist with a claim. At that time and may still apply disorientation which is part of ME was rejected for any points. MR said otherwise. Grind them down with the appeal process, especially if they lie. The tribunal I attended fully stated “they knew assessors and decision makers lied” while a difficult experience they were on the claimants side and much more realistic about the persons capability and lack there off compared to the DWP.

    • @Garuthius
      @Garuthius 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Keep in mind ... its not about what you actually get .... it is about what you need... regardless of whether you get it or not .... so the need to have people checking on you is the relevant point .... NOT whether you have friends or family to do so.

      Is there a way to get copy of that pip form you are showing us sister xx. Thanks R

    • @Garuthius
      @Garuthius 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Mrskess Yes, the same principle can be applied across all of the questions. I would argue that your intermittent use of your medication only serves to highlight your NEED to have somebody there to remind / pester you to take them and because that need is not met, you are suffering increased levels of your symptoms.
      Of course you do have to be careful and think with utmost caution before you answer those questions as you may be falling into a 'trap' question by giving an a more in-depth answer to this one than you need to. As an example that you could relate to. I was helping with a friends claim and at assessment, she went into too much depth about how if she had someone to drive her around, she would be able to get out more. She was given 2 points in one category because she needed assistance but knocked down to zero in one of the mobility categories because she had (in the eyes of the assessor) stated that she was capable of getting out more than she did and was choosing not to go out.
      Of course at tribunal the panel threw out the DWP decision (and threw the book at the DWP representative too) because we had the recording of the assessment and the Tribunal panel clearly understood that she could only get out of the house with a suitable person to accompany her / driver her around. But be aware, every piece of information that you give them for question 1. ... they will try to use against you on questions 3, 7 and 12 etc etc etc.
      It is a battle of will's and truth.... And the person who holds the truth, is the person most likely to come out on top. Keep copies of everything they send to you, keep copies of everything you send to them and make recordings of every phone call AND assessment (as it is your right to do).
      Anyway, hope some of that helps.

    • @Mrskess
      @Mrskess 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I wrote a similar comment, and someone responded that’s it’s about the help you need, not just the help you are getting. So you can apply this to any situation in the assessment. Eg, You need someone to give you medication, otherwise you forget to take it for whatever reason. Merida my I’ve given up on some medication for mh as I keep not taking them consistently and go for periods of weeks not taking any at all, which results in withdrawals.
