I cancelled my licence 5 years ago. I have been seeing more and more people cancelling like me and I did see that month by month the BBC is losing millions. The BBC treats the public with contempt and we are cancelling them and switching them off. It is high time their gravy train is derailed for good.
I cancelled my TV licence when the BBC was teaching young children their are 100 genders. This was years ago and I'll never have a TV again whilst it means funding the BBC.

He has just bought himself a £3000 electric bike paid for by the BBC's Cycle t0 work scheme. it's not just the so-called 'talent' that are on huge salaries; the ordinary small cogs are too. When he told me about his job perks, I literally stopped buying the licence. I was so distgusted at having to pay for their Leftie drivel just to keep them in a lifestyle they'd become accustomed to. You're a fool if you still buy the licence fee!!!

When you call Capita/TV Licensing to cancel remember to tell them you are removing the 'implied right of access'. This means that they can only come to your house with a warrant. I cancelled mine some 15 years ago...I don't watch any live TV and just have to reaffirm I don't need a license every two years.
Don't do this as Capita will use this a evidence against you so the courts will see this as you have something to hide and will grant a warrant because of this.
You cannot be sent to jail for not paying your TV licence. You only used to be jailed if you didn't pay a court fine - and it only went to court if you let a TV licence 'inspector' into your home. Just say 'no thanks' and shut the door if they visit and there's nothing they can do

You can still own a TV without a TV licence. There are loads of things to watch legally. You can find loads of stuff on TH-cam with no TV licence needed.

The issue isn’t the salary they earn the issue is how much they earn compared to their peers on other channels. They have to make a profit through adverts but the BBC know they have a constant stream so it doesn’t matter about quality of value for money. It’s a joke

No thank-you bbc. Not renewed license since the Sovile cover-up (no thats not a typo) i inform them every two years its not needed. Ive had one letter asking if i require one when i recently moved. No threats no visits. They need to go to a subscription model and allow people that choice.
I haven't owned a TV since 2015. When I was a kid, we had four TV channels (two of which were BBC) and no internet so the license fee may have been justifiable. Now, I'm not so sure.
I havnt watched the bbc now for a couple of years. It was really crap even then. I pay the bbc licence but will stop soon because my TVs only work on wifi. I’ll check the rules and cancel payments to defray labours cancellation of the winter fuel allowance. They’ve stopped £200 to me, I’m stopping £169.5 to them. Happy Christmas!

Cycle to Work the company loans you the money. You have to pay it back out of the gross wage. The BBC did not give him this bike 😂

It's not a contract you don't need to cancel anything . Just don't pay it's simple .

I cancelled mine some 15 years ago...I don't watch any live TV and just have to reaffirm I don't need a license every two years.
Don't do this as Capita will use this a evidence against you so the courts will see this as you have something to hide and will grant a warrant because of this.

You cannot be sent to jail for not paying your TV licence. You only used to be jailed if you didn't pay a court fine - and it only went to court if you let a TV licence 'inspector' into your home. Just say 'no thanks' and shut the door if they visit and there's nothing they can do

There is no legal requirement for you to have any sort of interaction with them at all, either in person or by post.

If you watch live TV shows on youtube you need a licence. It's crazy but that's the rule. It doesn't include little clips like this video though.

True fact, I was prosecuted in 94 for no license. I was fined £80 for 2 years without a license............ 🤣🤣🤣 I actually saved money 🤷🏻♂️🤦♂️

I stopped paying the tv licence fee now 5 years ago never been on licence fee website for a refund never paid by direct debit it would come through the post and I take it to the post office to pay it 5 years ago I let it run to its expired and stopped paying paying after seeing to TH-cam channels giving free advice on avoiding paying check for your self Chilli jon Carne and Blackbelt Barrister channels .
The issue isn’t the salary they earn the issue is how much they earn compared to their peers on other channels. They have to make a profit through adverts but the BBC know they have a constant stream so it doesn’t matter about quality of value for money. It’s a joke
The licence fee should be abolished immediately... People are cancelling their licence because they don't watch (or want to) the BBC, the problem is they can no longer watch any other live channel (ITV, Ch.4, Ch.5, etc) including any channel on Sky TV.
Why should these channels be punished with lost viewers/ad revenue, just because people don't want to pay the TV tax... SCRAP THIS TAX NOW!!!

I had long held the BBC as a quality entertainment and media outlet in the past with credibility but no longer and I would do the same to ITV if they had a licence fee because they are just a propaganda and agenda machine also now, their commercials alone are not accurate in the reflection of the UK.

I’m surprised that the other live tv channels haven’t taken the bbc to court because they are suffering because of the bbc license laws . If people are not paying for the licence then they must be losing viewers as well
No thank-you bbc. Not renewed license since the Sovile cover-up (no thats not a typo) i inform them every two years its not needed. Ive had one letter asking if i require one when i recently moved. No threats no visits. They need to go to a subscription model and allow people that choice.
I haven't owned a TV since 2015. When I was a kid, we had four TV channels (two of which were BBC) and no internet so the license fee may have been justifiable. Now, I'm not so sure.

I havnt watched the bbc now for a couple of years. It was really crap even then. I pay the bbc licence but will stop soon because my TVs only work on wifi. I’ll check the rules and cancel payments to defray labours cancellation of the winter fuel allowance. They’ve stopped £200 to me, I’m stopping £169.5 to them. Happy Christmas!

The problem is the mainstream media won’t come out and educate people who are wavering as whether to cancel or not, if you don’t watch don’t PAY. Fear nothing stop paying just because you have a telly doesn’t mean you have to pay. Put it another way if I sold my car I wouldn’t knock my garage down!!!
Never had a TV licence and never will and I'll continue to watch TV as much as I want 👌🏻
