- This is a clip from "A Bronx Tale" where Sonny talks to C about this girl he likes. Sonny tells C to give her the Door Test to find out if she is a keeper. I've added the song "Your Boyfriend Sucks" by the Ataris because it contains the audio for the Door Test scene.

This test doesn't work now with the automatic doors. The Mario test still works though.

Ok heres what u do, u pull up to her house and when u get outta the car lock both doors u go ova dere and u bring her ova to the car, take out the key and unlock it open the door for her. Then go around to the back of da car and look thro the rear window and if she doesnt reach over and lift up tht button for u so u can get in DUMP HER
dont see the point in a door test when most cars have electronic devices that do that on the key chain nowadays. not to mention just about all cars have electronic lock/unlock buttons on the door panel

Bands maybe good but using their music out of the context of the scene doesn't make it any better.
whenever i go on a date and the guy opens the door for me, i ALWAYS reach over and open his door for him! this test is true. and also true the other way around... i don't appreciate it if i'm going on a date and the guy doesn't open doors for me (not only car doors) ... chivalry is NOT dead.
this song i heard comes right after "san dimas high school football rules." if i had never heard the "door test" line, i would've never known where that line came from so its a good thing i saw this movie FIRST before hearing this song.

The entire point of this clip is to show the scene that The Ataris used in one of their songs. That is why it's playing in the background.

because in the bronx, there are only one way streets, so to be wiseguys, ppl would drive backwards. my dad said that my grandpa used to do that when they lived in the bronx.
