You don't want a bigger F-150 Raptor with a 3.5 V6 which sells in the US for the equivalent of £38k. No, you want this smaller Ranger Raptor with a 2.0 diesel engine which sells in the UK for £48k. Much better.
My 16 plate wildtrack chassis was covered in rust after one year The bucket plastic seat split Checked by the dealer and he just laughed Hope this is better
They not officially commercial vehicles with the government in Ireland but they are commercial for insurance purposes which is very difficult to get for some reason..
Great looks, great suspension but why not keep the 3.2 with the new twin turbo? That would have been awesome. Probably that is the marketing strategy of Ford. Sell this one, hear the people, sell a new one with bigger engine.
If the F150 Raptor goes back to V8, they need to put the 3.5L V6 TT EcoBoost in this Ranger Raptor or the Coyote V8 out of the Mustang. A lot of money for no engine performance. Personally biggest down fall of this ute. I know people including myself that wouldn't buy purely because of lack of engine power. Its a Raptor, you wanna feel and hear some power and grunt when driving!!
The only thing that troubles me is when the recall letters will be sent out after a few weeks or months. I bought the 2014 Focus ST and the amount of recall letters I got was disappointing. I still have the car as it was the first non-Japanese car I've own/driven daily. I am looking for a truck, but I think I will wait this one out once Ford gets the recalls fixed or go with a Tacoma. Just my two cents.
Can the Raptor engine be remapped or superchipped without danger? I have done it for my Ford Ranger but then that is a 3.2 litre with much more potential
Here in the UK its not classified as a commercial vehicle... NO TAX INCENTIVE........ Ford messed up here, why would any business buy one when the tax is the same as a car.
Look the old Wildtrak is 3.2L 5Cyl 6-speed Turbo what if the new Raptor (2.0L 4cyl 10-speed Bi-turbo) has a new engine of 3.2 L 5 Cyl 10-speed Bi-Turbo? or 3.5L V6 engine? Does it make more sense and worth buying the truck?
@@johncitizen9996 if you want the bigger payload why in hells name would you then waste your time on looking into Rapter vids they are for racing and jumping not Payload You're really not smart
The most honest review of this disappointing "Performance??' truck yet. I wonder how much it would cost to put the 3.5 litre V6 twin turbo ecoboost Raptor motor in it?
Eventually in the uk diesel is going to get hammered with an increase in road tax because of the levels of nitrogen it produces. If you drive less than 12k miles a year a diesel makes less sense as you risk clogging the DPF. Then there's the EGR valve & vapour valve to contend with. Petrol maybe less efficient but there's less to worry about.
Pretty poor review, not once was the old Ranger Raptor mentioned!! New engine is a vast improvement on the old edition however looks are considerably less aggressive which is the whole point behind the Raptor!
What in the hell is wrong with Ford and General Motors? 2.0 liter turbo diesel? Where is the fucking 3.5 liter turbo gas engine? They have to know they've lost a lot of customers behind this stupidity. Its clearly a no brainer, yet , someone thought it was a good idea to fuck with people's expectations. Raptor means PERFORMANCE to any and everyone who is used to driving a truck with the Raptor name . Fuck this truck
This car makes no sense? It’s the UK Raptor “Vegetarian” edition or the nearly-Raptor! Ten speed gearbox, it’s too many, it’s going to be constantly changing gear. Very expensive for what it is and especially as the Wildtrack 3.2 is such a good truck anyway. Save the money buy a Wildtrack it Will be a much better truck for your money
Reviewing in a left hand drive for the UK market and talking in comparison with the US F150 constantly 🙄 i think TRUSTFORD will be hating you right now
Mainly because most buyers will be businesses and the classification will determine how much money you can claim back. It’s certainly more expensive than the US/CAN in any case.
Ford have undone their own brilliant work. The 2ltr bi-turbo just doesn't cut it. Maybe on the Wildtrak but on the Raptor they honestly needed to re-work the 3.2ltr or offer a V6 TDI. Especially when they knew that VW and Merc would be offering a V6 TDI. And yes offer a petrol engine for the petrol heads. How difficult is it to make customers happy really?

Get your facts straight. Diesels put out far less pollution than gas trucks do. Plus, modern vehicles have so many systems that limit emissions enormously. I.e. EGR and DEF. Learn how engines work and check out some studies done and you'll see that modern vehicles don't put out enough emissions to "make the world die." Nice try though!

157 Kw and 500 Nm torque. These engines were built in Port Elizabeth and and the vehicle it's self in Silverton .
It is really a bad idea reviewing this car by comparing it to the F-150..
Ford is not mistaken for making them separated
@Jim Thomas Uhh, no, they aren’t. The F150 is a full size truck, the Ranger is a midsize. Two completely different models.

10.2 sec to 62, that's terrible!!!! But it is for off road, and kicks ass at that!
I could forgive the 2.0 but why didn't they use the 240bhp spec instead of 210 like in the new Ford Edge?!
Great car that deserves a 3.0TDI turbo diesel V6 or a 3.5 eco boost petrol V6 engine to make it "a great car with a great engine".
I wish we could have a eco diesel version of the Ranger Raptor here in the States

Due to the load carrying capacity of well under the uk 1000kg/1 ton commercial requirement, you would need to be off your trolly to buy one in the uk.

Not everyone buys 4x4s to dodge paying tax, and anyway those rules only apply to the UK, Ford aren’t going to make a bespoke vehicle just for us
