Big, loud and fast. That's American for you! The blue oval brand didn't hold back on this 2nd gen of the Raptor. WOW. WHAT A CAR!!!
Good God! The cinematography is impeccable 🔥🔥🔥
I've been watching so many Ford Ranger Reviews. Maybe for almost 6 or 8 months now. This is one of the best, if not THE BEST review I've watched. Maybe tied or even surpassing, an owner review from a car review host from Oz. Thanks for this. God bless you.
What a detailed review Ciro 👌
Love the V6 petrol engine and I would buy it without hesitation.
Being a Toyota guy in general, this new Ford Raptor is something special 👌🏻👌🏻well done Ford
Toyota engineering and reliability (japanese in general) is way ahead of Ford
Last time I came this quick, my ex left me
Classic!!!🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
That jump made Ciro reevaluate his decision to make it lol😂😂😂
The Ranger Raptor is simply in a league of its own , given a million plus rand I’d buy it without hesitation.
Spot on.
Give me the million for the bakkie - nice!
Now who's helping me pay for the fuel! 😂
Love this thing!
Same
Make sure your replacement car on your insurance is nice, you going to need it in the 1st 100k kms I guarantee it
Is it reliable thou
killer production on this one!
The editing and the production of this video was insane 🤯. This is why I only watch car reviews from you guys and not any other motoring channel! Please do a video review of the new Toyota Vitz when it comes for test... I think us as South Africans are really squeezed financially and budget cars aren't reviewed enough and I prefer watching you guys review because yourll give the best advice. Thanks ❤
This guy is amazing ...he's reviews are world class!
Brilliant video. Super entertaining. U guys are approaching TV quality with your videos now. Top stuff
My dream bakkie is the Raptor. But damn these things are getting seriously expensive.
I dunno, the raptor isn't any good on a farm, maybe the market has changed so much bakkies and farmers aren't joined up any more ?
@@wmtarr886they're largely a status symbol now. The only "farm ready" utes that exist are the 76 series LandCruiser and the Mahindra Pikup, in my opinion. And, the LandCruiser is the ultimate status symbol for the "manly man", at least here in Australia.
With regards to the centre armrest, you have to lift it up first to unclip it.
Beautiful driving scene
Haven’t even watched the video yet but I know my million bucks would be spent on the Raptor. Nothing wrong with the Wildtrak, Raptor is just a beast on its own.
Best review on this Bakkies,topnots
I got a raptor, a rs3 a tig R and a type r, ive put 7k on the raptors clock since getting it in feb. My rs3 only has 19k since 2018. Its a legendary vehicle!
Its kak heavy on fuel lol, but amazing. I keep wanting to use it
How is this info relevant to the video we are watching
@@ll2756 to show u tht u broke.
@@ebrahimebsBeautiful Reply LOL
ZA Law pertaining to trailers/towing: you cannot tow more than 750kg unbraked, or when using with run-in brakes, exceed the TARRA of the vehicle. Electrically assisted trailers may not exceed the GVM of the tow vehicle. Thus these manufacture tow ratings means very little in ZA - please provide more accurate information to the buying public when mentioning these figures. Awesome review, I always enjoy the presentation with some good humor!
I like v6 wildtrack, as for Raptor nice fast bakkie but i don't see point of being that fast.
I actually ignored all reviews of the new raptor and waited for Ciro’s. Well worth it.
Loved your review, excellent video and well spoken reviewer and fantastic location
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
This Ford Ranger Raptor sounds like its gonna be very reliable 🙃
😂😂😂😂
So true! In typical American fashion only power matters, nothing else lol
1st issues already showing is the bin liner coming off quite a few bakkies.
@Paul Jansen I highly doubt
@@pauljansen6650 the ford bronco has issue with their ecoboost V6 petrol same engine as the raptor ranger let's prayer we fit have issues
@juniornkatlholang9379 yes because Ford has a long history of good reliability and no turbo/engine issues lol
Ciro you just fit perfectly in the ranger wildtrak
Great show
Will Raptor R be available in SA?
Great review! Any upcoming review of the new urban cruiser?
As Ford fans we lost the ST and RS, now we'd like to see the wildtrack and Raptor take on the gti and R
Nahh bafethu give whatever amount Ford ask for the raptor. This bakkie is just sick.
The middle armrest in the back - Pull the lever up and out
Those sun glasses make you look like a Krugersdorp speed cop , NICE!
The day i have big money, i might get me one of these 2 beasts💯🔥.... I'm a huge fan of the Blue oval
Fantastic review Ciro. I also love my Ford Ranger, and would certainly be interested in either the Raptor or Wildtrack. My only hestitation is the appalling service we get from the Ford agents here in Toti, KZN. Unfortunately they are the worst. That almost drives me to another brand. But I won't move, because the Rangers are so fantastic.
i'm not selling anything but if you are prepared to pay for Ford then that is your choice. My understanding is Toyota is sub-saharan international if you want to play outside your tiny playground of KZN
@@wmtarr886Toyotas are also tin cans in comparison to a new Ford. Once going back to a Hilux after a Ranger you feel like you've gone 40 years back in time
@@wmtarr886 Haha, yea. But I love the drive of my Ford.
Raptors lower load capacity classifies it as not a commercial vehicle, bonus if there are restrictions for you entering places like the local waste disposal site.
For Wildtrak buyers a better comparison would be the 2.0bi turbo diesel vs the v6 diesel. For Xlt buyer would be the 2.0 single turbo diesel vs 20bi turbo diesel. The Raptor is in a league of it own.
why does our top spec Wildtrak and Everest (Platinum) not have the same Matrix LED lights as the Raptor like the aus spec
??
20:02 you need to pull that loop in an upward direction, i.e. towards the roof in order to lift it down.
You didn't mention that the Raptor have a front diff-lock also, which can be very important during rock climbing.
Awesome Review Ciro and team. I daily a X3 M40i and for some reason on weekends I always grab the keys of the Raptor. It's really a special vehicle and then you look past the R4/km petrol costs 😅
Owning both those vehicles… price of petrol isn’t a concern 😅 I have the new raptor too
@@andrewfehrsenIt will always be 😅 On the X3 I Avg 10.6l/100km and the Raptor 17.6l/100km. Same power more or less. Weight plays a massive role.
what you have both of them ? yikes
@@andrewfehrsen scares me how much money some people have
This is mostly driven by those who used to drive C Class and Bmw 3 series, that sound is top notch
Yep, same way those who used to drive Golfs and Focuses are now driving Tiguans. Those who used to drive Polos and Fiestas are now driving Havals and Cherrys
Hi Ciro.. when is the amarok review comming?
This is a kind of review we signed up for the other guy in Namibia dunes didn't do justice to the Raptor not hating well done once again Ciro and team 💯💯
You are literally hating on the Namibia guy. Why even compare two different colleagues?😊
Really enjoyed watching this. Ciro, you are an amazing presenter. As for the bakkie, Raptor for me if I am willing to pay a Million Rand for one.
P.S. I'm OK with the shades
Please come to Lesotho for amazing off road drives❤❤
Hear hear, nice cinematograhpy
So wish the matrix led was available as an option on the wildtrak
Same here. IDK why don't they give us the Premium Pack Option like other countries do
@Sisekelo Duma To make it worst is the raptor has it, proving that the product is available in South africa. A million with no matrix led is just sad
@@sazi7294 Truly is ngl

No bakkie is worth more than R600 000 IMO!
Anything above is wasteful expenditure.
Bakkies generally last longer than sedans or SUVs I disagree
I guess it all comes down to what you're purchasing the bakkie for. Is it for the experience of having one, its functionality or its sheer beauty that will guide whether a 600K is a justifiable figure or not. On another, constantly ignored view, it's people's choices ladies and gentlemen, let anyone do what they want with their life, as long as it ain't hurting you or the environment (sigh) in the process.
GWM Steed is your kind of bakkie then.
@@WhatIfWeAreCharacters Actually, i have 21 of them currently, bit heavy on fuel but they bring the money in!
Great step up from Ford. As awesome as that V6 petrol sounds (memories of Cortina V6 Kent) I would still opt for the V6 Diesel. Reason being, where in SA do we have dedicated offroad race tracks for the public to use?
And also, because of the sport suspension (not tough leaf springs), I've seen a new Raptor who's payload area was nearly dropped onto the rear wheels, because it can't carry much weight or tow heavy loads.
Any update on how to open up the armrest in the rear??😂
Is there a manual on both this generation ?
Heated and Ventilated seats would've been 👌
i'll buy both bakkies, thanks for the info.
That's actually the point. The Diesel V6 engine is tempting especially for going to Zimbabwe etc.
whats this bucky term? pickup?
That Raptor is wild, the new door handles on Ford is awesome, elbows will be pleased😂
ummm, door handles on a utility vehicle? what is going on ?
Will South Africa get the Ford Ranger Platinum?
So the cheaper Wildtrack is a better workhorse...?
We in South Africa need Ford's phev bakkie. With our bleedy loadshedding we need to be able to turn our phevs into generators to run our homes or shops .
I don't know why Ford has made the changes to the front of the cars to make them look quite similar. I have a wildtrak - just because I was not allowed to order a raptor (Ford was releasing a new generation and the dealers in Australia didn't have any stock of raptor). But anyone was able to tell which one was a raptor, a wildtrak or a normal XLT just by the looks.....Now the the new models looks pretty much the same - or no obvious differences by a first glance. Hope they can get it back.
The Gen1 Raptor has active noise cancellation and isolated windshield and windows as well as heated windshield, some ppl said thatbthe Gen2 doesn't have either of these. Can anyone confirm those? Thnx for amazing footage and detailed review.
It doesn't afaik
What is the badge build date on this "new" Raptor plse? Is it 2023 or 2024?
About time Ciro 😪
I have one on order, the wait time in aus (at the time i ordered) is 13 months, give or take. Thats a long time to wait for a car, but im still as excited as i was the day i ordered it, 6 months ago
*edit* aus gets a soft tailgate open
The info Stateside is pretty sketchy, the best estimate I've seen is 11 months. I'm okay with that lol. Can't wait for the U.S. order banks to open on the 26th this month.
That Ranger Raptor suspension is a instant buy for me.👌🏼
You guys do a drag race vid between this wild track and the new v6 amarok
It's the same bakkie. The new Amarok is a Ford.
You need a Bukky aka Bakkie, counter in the top left corner. Had to google what the slang term meaning was.
Can the wildtrack bakkie take on the ISUZU D-MAX CROSS?
Ordered mine.... but de-tuned for the UK market 😕 Chances they forget to de-tune in the factory!? Or maybe it's detuned at the dealership? Love the jump scene!
Maybe call Ford South Africa for the map...
Oh man! Now that would have been quite the road-trip! SA to UK in the Raptor! ...wonder if they do a factory collection 😀 @@Carscoza
No doubt ford ranger at top position in this segment.2024 will bring more offer from other competitors.cant wait to see this race.can they still hold their position as a benchmark😊
Where is this place, I hear from the beginning of the video you said " Atlanta"? Which Atlanta is this?
The location is known as Atlantis Dunes. It is about 40km west of Cape Town and is open to the public. Thanks for watching!
Very nice raptor. I honestly doubt it but some weirdos are saying new hilux is coming 3.5 turbocharged so ill probably wait in vain and see. Presently i got a T7 with a V8 in it.
12:41 I felt like I was in the car 😅
Hopefully Ford bothered to make the 10-speed transmission reliable coz as we speak in the US they have a class action law suit against them because of this gearbox in this model vehicle.
So we will see after 2 years how the new Ranger does
No. That box will grenade itself for sure. It’s no ZF
Hello for the USA. How’s the interior room of the Raptor? I’m 6’2” and 195 lbs. Thank you. Excellent review.
Im 6’3 and it’s really good , i can honestly say from owning a hilux rocco this is definitely an upgrade in terms of comfortability
@@user-wh2eu7ep2k That's great to know. Thank you very much for replying. We might drive on the other side, but we all are fans of trucks "buggies" and cars. I'll be following your channel.
Wish it was a full raptor though.
Good video, just wish he also used some US terms would be 10/10 video
I wonder what it would take to replace the V6 motor with a V8 Coyote?
Still waiting for Hilux gr-sport review 😢
EXTREMELY COOL CARS 😄👍👌💥✨!!!
BUT HOLY MOLY 🤨...🤔...
HOW CAN YOU PAY a Mill PLUS for a "sheep carrier"??!!
😱😳😱😳
GREAT WORK !!! 😉🤣👌
Not quite a sheep carrier. LOL. Get a Hilux for that.
What no one tells you about the Raptor is that those shocks and suspension ( as brilliant as they are) will not last much past 50k km’s and then they have to be replaced at a price that will make you wish you never bought it. Also not so good at towing heavy loads due to suspension sag.
Other than that a brilliant vehicle
Where do you get this info? I've never heard of anyone that had to replace the suspension on the previous Gen Raptor? And there's plenty over 50k km.
Never seen a brilliant Ford, especially as they age. They can’t learn lessons from the Ecoboost failures but suspect they are in denial. When last did u see the Focus ST, gone, & we must believe in overstressed turbo engines. Turbo is lousy engineering no innovative engineer will obsess with
Put 87,000km on my previous generation Ranger Raptor. The suspension was as compliant and good after 4 years and 87,000km as the day I bought it.
BS Toyota lemming. Bs
what is the place the review is being shot from?
Hi there, the venue is Atlantis Dunes, about 40 mins outside Cape Town
Fiat Tatiano? Will it be competing the Mitsubishi
No grays for me need make greens browns inside snd out
I was curious about the difference between the two
I'm okay with my GWM P- series
It's times less the price but I can guarantee you I did anybody in terms of tech and safety however less power but I'm ok you can buy two buc-ee's
That's not the point now is it. The Gwm is only 120kw. In terms of status..you not getting it driving a Gwm.
Well done, Ciro ✔️
Had to double check the price in SA. In Ireland the raptor is approx. €76,000 (1.57 million rand) we are being ripped off here 🤦🏻♂️
Is the Wildtrak not able to jump?
Can jump but landing is the problem, the Raptor suspension senses the jump and prepare (firms) itself for the landing.
This is why if you lift a Raptor and not have its firmware updated then the car will constantly think it is on a jump.

@@derickellisster I understand they're different tools but that's not what he said. He specifically said, there isn't another bakkie in the market with a V6 other than the Amarok.
Land Cruiser is still a bakkie regardless, the same way someone buys a Wildtrak and cages it in a city car life as a lifestyle accessory. The only difference is preference. It may be more function over form but is one nonetheless.
Someone help me with what he was saying? Buckie? Buggy?
Hi there, in South Africa we have a colloquial word for a pick-up, they are known as "bakkies" here, the term is Afrikaans and refers to the load bed. Thanks for watching
Jeep Gladiator?
There is one bakkie "better" than the Raptor but we just don't get it in South Africa and it's the RAM TRX (something like that). Otherwise this would be my go-to bakkie too if I had a mil.
We do get the Ram TRX, those of us who can afford to buy it.

Wildtrack every time....Raptor just doesn't have the towing capacity for NZ where lots of us have big boats to drag over big mountains
