INSANE New Features in Assassin's Creed Shadows!

- We just got MASSIVE details about Assassins Creed Shadows. And one BRAND NEW feature could genuinely make this the best game in the franchise.
Fresh gameplay shown at Ubisoft Forward has highlighted exactly how both of the protagonists play styles can work together.
Yasuke (YUSKAY) is huge and wields destructive weapons like the new blunt-force (KA-NAH-BOW) Kanabo. Naoe (NAH-WAY) is more nimble and can traverse faster using a grappling hook that doubles as a rapid-fire weapon. Swapping between the two in the open world offers insane playstyle variety.
But that’s not all we learned!
Scouting locations has been streamlined. A brand new feature lets you recruit an entire spy network. You’ll use your spies to locate your targets and gather the intel you need to take them out..
Both characters can destroy most environmental elements . So, yes, it’s definitely possible to blast through those shoji doors to get to enemies.
But Ubisoft also revealed all new stealthy opportunities for taking enemies by surprise.
Crawling through grass and snow keeps you out of sight but laying flat in shallow water is now possible by using a bamboo breathing tube!
By far the greatest new feature though is creating shadows to vanish into by extinguishing light sources. This feels like Assassins Creed winding the clock back to its stealthy roots while also mixing in easily the best graphics and gameplay in the franchise so far!

As a Japanese, I don't like this game.
It bothers me that UBI says this game is based on historical fact, but I don't feel like I can concentrate on playing this game. The scenery, dialogue, characters, everything has a mysterious atmosphere that is not Japanese.
Watching the trailer, I felt like I was watching a movie where the lead actor's nose hair was sticking out all the time.
I feel you good sir. I watched a japanese TH-camr earlier analyzing this game, and to think that UBI not only got yasuke wrong but even the culture, the plants existing at the same time despite that they exist in two different seasons, and historical facts about samurais. He did said that samurais only wear their armor when there's war, and seeing the trailer for this game, Yasuke walking around with his armor through a peaceful village who should be running away from the sight of a samurai but they're not, it is funny. I really don't mind Yasuke but UBI getting so many things wrong about Japan is too much 😅

Just curious, what stealth mechanics does G.o.T actually have that makes it different from A.C.? The only comparison is the combat between him and Yasuke.
@@ghastlyanarchy1720 Jin becomes the ghost so he basically becomes a ninja. GOT just came out on PC btw so there’s more chances for people to experience an amazing game. The story, the gameplay! Everything is beautiful!
@Janellelynnmayo oh I've beaten it and got all the trophies. It was great, but its stealth, specifically, is nothing special compared to stealth in assassin's creed games prior to its original release. A lot of the stuff you get is for open combat, not stealth. All he really does is use poison darts, hide in tall grass, throw things to draw a guards attention to a location, and already sounds a lot like basic assassin's creed stealth. It is a great game with a wonderfully told story, but it's only comparable to assassin's creed shadows from the actual combat side of things as assassin's creed has more stealth and maneuverability than G.o.T ever has. Not trying to sound like aggressive or a diehard fan of assassin's creed. I'm just saying and explaining how I see this whole thing with G.o.T and Shadows.
@@ghastlyanarchy1720 Oh, I’ve never really gotten into AC. It’s not for me. A friend was trying to get me excited for this one but I saw it was woke and the world doesn’t look much better. So I was like, okay nope! I still need to attempt Sekiro: Shadows die Twice! I’ve heard it’s really difficult being a dark souls kinda game. I’m still working on the FFVII Rebirth platinum which is a real pain in the ass with all the mini games!
@Janellelynnmayo Sekiro is worth a try tbh. I love that game. It's more skill based than the other soulsborne games but still yes very hard but at the end of the day it's about your skill. So practice will make perfect there. And I understand that, I like assassins creed, have for a while and I can accept when a game is just plain bad but with this game not even being out yet it just bugs me because everyone's just judging a work in progress like a book by it's cover. If it ain't for you it ain't for you and that's fine. I'm just looking forward to the stealth side of this game more than anything.

I hate having two protagonists, they should invest time and resources to make a well written one character rather than having two bad ones or limited with one play style. It’s not adding anything new, we always had both stealth and combat but now we have to choose one way to go, I see it as a downgrade just like syndicate
U can switch between the two ur not stuck with either or just like in Syndicate with Jacob and Evie
@@me________so just to confirm, you don’t have to select which one you want at the beginning for the actual story part? Do we know if the have separate storylines or different story options so we should switch to the one we want for the cutscenes? Are they canonically travelling together and just dividing the work?
I imagine having two protagonists increase the variety in story options/choices, making the game more replayable in order to discover new things. Also, having 2 protagonists doesn’t automatically mean they won’t be well written, it actually increases the chance for dynamic writing if we get to see the two interact between missions and build a rapport as a team, lots of opportunity to flesh out characters more in that sense and the idea of being a team of two in an assassin game is kinda cool since the characters could have more of an emotional tie with a single specific person.
Of course this really depends on how the dual protagonists will function in this story but I don’t think there being 2 in the first place would automatically make it bad

I like how you people completely ignore how crossbows were removed from AC1 because they were historically innacurate. You people just want your tokenism at the expense of minorities you care less about

Mirage was a good start in the right direction, and this game seems to be more progress back on track. I hope they polish the combat a bit more by the release date, but putting in Splinter Cell stealth elements was a good choice.
Mirage is just a remake of old AC
This game have better combat and stealth
@@kenni3313 the biggest thing holding these games back is the engine, but the devs might pull it off with Shadows.

Discount ghost of tsushima with a worse story and bad combat mechanics
Someone gets it
you havent even played the game yet
is logic just lost on u people?
I remember when people said "The Batman" was gonna be "woke boring trash" and "the worst Batman film"... yall remember that ?
U can be skeptical, but saying "the story sucks and its trash" before the game even comes out is not being skeptical. Its just being a sheep who gives in to his feelings instead of concrete evidence and proof. Wake up. Stop letting TH-camrs think for you. Think for yourself.
So play that game
Yaskue was named because he was a freak show and seems to be in the game for the same reason
It’s about time they apply some Splinter Cell features to an AC game. It would be cool if the ninja could also do the iconic splits stance on walls.
I dont know. I mean it seems they missed their mark on this one. People have been talking about AC doing Japan for 10 years.
Assassin's Creed was never this stealthy lets be real. Her gameplay reminds me of something straight out of the tenchu games and most of them were amazing .
it's genric at assassins creed gameplay with cherry blossoms and bing bing music.
Yall really can never be happy with what yall get
I'm happy with all of this so far 🤣
I’m happy ash with the flips she can do and everything she can, but I do hope she can do at least 7 different types of flips and not the same ones
I'm happy that the racists are mad about it ... I was getting the game regardless of who the characters was these dudes are complete losers 😂😂😂😂 and they're mad because other people are excited about the game
What? Are you dumb if someone is spending their money won't they expect a good product?
Ngl we need to create our own character bruh
They should add a weapon chain like ninja assassins
No matter what ubisoft does, delusional people will still complain.
They need to make the story mode multiplayer
That'd be wild, no doubt
You mean something like A WAY OUT ?
I was thinking that too if not then hopefully the ninja and samurai can interact and fight with each other against enemies like in marvels spider man 2
Just an FYI: The first black samurai wasn't really given the title samurai. He was a jester
First game to Change Actually History😂😂😂
This has the opportunity to be the best game with a protagonist like Yasuke
Yeah but I feel like they'll blow it somehow
How? Both of the characters seem bland
Yea, if it was historically accurate at all and wasn't disrespectful of samurai culture. An accurate game about yasuke's life would have you acting out as a servant, standing around while Oda showed you off to his peers, and then running away from your only battle
@probablygeorge6489 Explain how it's disrespectful.Yasuke was given a sword, some land, and money. You may call him a retainer, but a samurai is literally defined as "a well-paid retainer." Yasuke was a samurai whether you like it or not.
@@pimpinjt123 It's disregarding the cultural practices behind being a samurai. Yes he was given a sword, which was taken back. Yes he was given land, which was taken back. Why? Because he failed his master, ran away from his only recorded battle, and refused to join the 47 ronin for revenge. Yasuke was a man with NO samurai honor. Depicting him as one is disrespectful to the actual samurai. And where'd you come up with that definition??? Yes, many Samuria were made retainers (most retainers were one), but not all retainers were samurai. Especially when they were a nonjapanese with no political value and no fighting expertise, like Yasuke...
Yasuke was never samurai, quit with your historical revisionism backed with your desire for tokenism. If he was a white man you would have a different tone (btw there was an actual white samurai, who was gifted that caste because of his fighting skills and tactical prowess.)
If he was a real samurai, 1. He would've fought to the death at the battle of Honnoji, 2. He would've joined the 47 ronin after Oda's death, and 3. He wouldn't have his possessions taken away and for him to be shipped away to India only 3 years after being in Japan. You just want a black samurai more than you want to respect the culture.
You should look into what the vassal of Akechi said about Yasuke before kicking him out of the country, it was not the kind of thing you'd ever hear said about a Samuria... *because he wasn't one. This is black-washing.*
Why i see a copy of ghost of Tsushima
they removed public stealth mode... why because a black samurai walking/running around feudal Japan is anything but stealthy!!!
Assassin's creed ❌ BBC woke creed ✅
"Best game in the franchise"
>mc isn't even an assassin
Also yaaaay tokenism, who needs a Japanese mc in fuedal Japan when we can just shoehorn in a gay black man (who in history had 0 clues he was gay, was only a servant, and ran away from his only battle)
Guess we're just gonna skip right over the Japanese MC that actually is in the game and occupies the majority of the game. Guess that's not as exciting as crying about the black guy though, but y'know.
Ok, does it matter what skin color ge is?

The old school THIEF games have been doing lantern extinguishing for decades now 😂

" First, they have "The Mexican" with Brad Pitt, now they have "The Last Samurai" with Tom Cruise. Well, I've written a film, maybe they'll produce my film. The Last Nigga on Earth, starring Tom Hanks. How about that?" Paul Mooney.
How many times are folks going to say that assassin's creed is "going back to it's roots"? It never will again!
These “new stealth options” are what we could’ve had over 5 years ago if Ubisoft focused on making assassins creed feel like assassins creed. And they aren’t even new when MULTIPLE games DECADES AGO did them💀
Oh wow, are you telling me this game releasing in 2024 has the exact same mechanics that were available in franchises such as Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell, Tenchu, etc. over 20 years ago?! That must be some truly _innovative_ stuff right here!😂
I hope they make open combat way more difficult, so the incentive is more towards stealth
For the fans of Nioh, Nioh 2, Sekiro, Shadow & Tenchu : Shadow Assassin, I approved this game
2 protagonists with different types of gameplay… never saw that before. They should name them Jacob and Evie.
I don't see how this takes AC back to its roots.
The peculiarity of AC' stealth was in the second rule of the creed "hide in plain sight" (aka social stealth) and the use of parkour as a mean to fast traverse the narrow, crowded and intricate streets of the medieval towns.
This created 2 different pastes to the game: one slow and effective to infiltrate certain areas and one fast, but at risk of being easily spotted.
Here we have a Tenchu, or a Ghost of Tsushima play style which has nothing to do with the old ACs. Instead of developing the new stealth mechanics Ubisoft specifically created for this franchise, they decided to develop mechanics which were intended for different kinds of games.
If they wanted to respect the root of the franchise they should have made possible to choose between two different characters: Naoe which should only act at night and someone else who would blend in and be able to infiltrate during daytime among the crowd.
"Emerge from the shadow to the light and from the light back into the shadows" AC Mirage.
The fact is they are creating a product for an audience that isn’t as big as they think it is
Looks like ghost of tsushima
That Samurai has no business being in the game
lets ignore the 100 dollar price tag for it
Juat gotta say. Imagine after you die, some tells your story but tells everyone you was gay 😂😂
This isn't accurate to yasuke at all 😂 no way he would've been given such armor as a retainer Oda kept around to make fun of
AC died after black flag, and black flag wasnt even an AC game, just the best pirate game ever.
