I just got my WLJH Blue lights. Tested them with a 9v battery and the positive is on the right of the T.
Thought I would throw that out there. Probably should check yours before soldering them all in.
Great video bro!
I don’t see a T on mine am I just blind😂
Thank you for showing that print out I just did my ac control panel and had to redo 4 lights cause I thought the positive leads were all the top ones. Thanks sir Cluster is next
just got a set of blue ones for my Toyota Camry .. coming in the mail now . mine are a 194 bulb .. the just insert into a holder and you rotate them in .. easy .. it just makes it look so much better . love the look of yours
Just finished mine. I also changed my AC controls to blue too. Looks freaking SWEAT. Thanks for the vid! It was super helpful. (Love how the truck is looking btw!)
Nice! I’ll definitely be doing those in the near future along with all the shearing wheel controls. Glad the video was helpful 👍🏽
It's SWEET that it looks freaking SWEAT.
It looks so difficult to do 😢
Where did you buy them
@@masannguyen3220 check his description
Excellent info along with the listing in description helped me a ton
Glad to hear!
Nice work! I'm about to do the same job, so this video was really helpful.
Glad it helped you out!
Thanks for the video so direct! Definitely doing this to my silverado
Great video very helpful and finally someone that leaves a link of the bulbs
Glad you enjoyed the video!
I did this to my 05 2500. I did the entire interior though window switches, 4x4 switch, etc. also changed the gauge needles to white. Matches the blue better than orange imo
That’s awesome, I plan on doing a full LED swap as well on my current build. The orange needles definitely need to go!
Your video was super simple thanks
Glad it helped!
Looks nice right after installing but how are they doing now? I am a bit leary cheep jungle leds.
Still going strong, no complaints on mine.
I hope this is the same removal procedure with my 02 silverado, the guage cluster on the cateyes is a little different
Thanks for the link, these worked great!
Right on 🤟🏽
I really appreciate the polarity chart. Everyone else is selling it.
No problem, I had to search a lot of forums to find it, but figured I would save you guys the time & money!
Your video is super easy to follow! Thanks!!! Im trying to do my 03 yukon, but I live in another country, so I was wondering if you know what size or voltage these LEDs are to try n find them on a local shoop in Mexico! 😬
How did you get the needles lined back up accurately?
Calibrated the needles with my Edge CTS Insight.
Good video, Cluster looks nice .
Thanks!
Looks great, about how long did that take you? Did you have any trouble with the old lights, like taking them out? We're they soldered from the factory? Or just a push and turn type friction fit?
Anyway looks a bunch better! Thanks for the update 😀.
👍✌🏻❄ 🇨🇦 😎.
Thanks Marie! The whole job only took me about an hour or so to complete. The original bulbs came off super easy and were soldered from factory.
@@warnerbu7ltare they all soldered on silverados or have you known any to be plug and play?
@@devinb.6377as far as I know, they’re all soldered on from 99-07
99-02 twist in 03-07 soldered@@devinb.6377
Great vid, thanks for sharing!😅
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it!
Are the same lights going to work in other vehicles though? I have a 2015 Toyota Tundra
I’m running the same brand rim. Sweet truck!
what do you do for a living ?
Quick question, how'd you find absolute zero for the needles when you replaced them? I see you had the same problem I had where when replaced, they were reading higher than they should actually have been reading.
I calibrated the needles by hand after installing in the truck. I used an edge CTS insight to give me exact readings to ensure I got everything bang on.
@@warnerbu7lt Thanks Warner! That's what I ended up doing as well. Before reassembling the clear housing to the front of the cluster, I plugged the cluster in and turned the ignition, adjusting each dial by hand.
Thanks man.. Was unsure until I watched you pluck off those gauge needles..
If you don’t have a recalibration tool, I’d suggest marking the needles position so that you can properly position them when you reinstall.
@@warnerbu7lt thank you. I did mark them. Swapped the cluster LEDs for some I desoldered from my spare golf cart brake light bulbs.
Worked perfect. Now my 04' Colorado has an all red dash!
now 2 years later how much have you used the truck and has any of the LED broken?
Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty damn sure all you gotta do is twist the bulbs out on the very back of the cluster with the black cover removed. I’ve never had to solder bulbs in these clusters
These clusters do not have the twist out option like others do. These are soldered directly to the board as shown in the video.
@ gotcha. Good to know. Learned something new
2:20 in your light is working. It's a miracle.
My guy, that looks insane!! Makes me want to do mine so bad now.
Super easy install, only takes an hour or so. You got this!
Very good job bro thanks. For your time
Thank you so much I have a 1992 F-150 I’m looking for mods and this is a must
How did you remove the old LEDs , just use needle nose and rip it off ?
Just make sure to mark where your needles are before removing
Wow that really looks nice
Appreciate it!
Did the mileage display just not work on this truck? Should have just bought a different cluster
Bro that color base color is sick what's the paint code
If you had slowed down the video when you were removing and putting in the new ones would have helped me out more!
Ronnie, if you click the gear in the lower right hand corner of the video, you can select your playback speed, where you can slow it down.
Hey man great video, good content!!
Appreciate it!
What year cateye do you have?
Great video. Very helpful
Glad I was able to help!
Hi, nice job there. I noticed your fuel gauge needle was reading something when you were removing it. Did you had it put on again at the same reading?
I recalibrated the cluster after I got everything all buttoned up. However if you don’t have the tools to do so, I’d advise marking where each needle is naturally before removing them, that way you can install back to the proper position.
How is it rescheduled again?
So are the t3's the actual light? Alot of t's popped up on the link i clicked
Yes, the T3’s are the correct LED
Why do they need to be soldered in?
These clusters don’t have a plug and play like others, so you have to solder the new LED lights just like the OEM bulbs came.
Beautiful mod great job! What offset tire set up you got?
22x12 -51
Thanks for the video. Is there different dash inserts for the cluster? Also I have a 06 truck but cannot find the bullet style antenna to work for my truck. I'm definitely changing to these LED's
Hey. I have an 06 too and I just changed the antenna to a Bullet one. There 2 black adapters that comes with the antenna, you just gotta put them together and attach to the bullet antenna. Easy! Hope it helps!
@mattporto4530 thank you. Do you remember the brand of the bullet antenna? The 2 that I have bought had horrible reception. Thanks again
@@henrykaiser8809 It worked for me, FM very clear, I believe only the AM stations are not good with this type of antenna. FM should work normal!
are the bulbs the twist in kind or soldered ?
Try watching the video..
Are you able to dim these? Ik on my cabin lights they will not dim because they are led. Thanks!
Yes they dim with the scroll wheel
@@warnerbu7lt heck yea thanks
Great video man! Ty
Glad you enjoyed it!
Dude great video wish you live in Texas I would pay you to do it for me!!
Thanks man! I also wish I lived in Texas haha.
Honestly it’s way easier than you think, you can absolutely diy this as long as you’ve got a soldering gun and a few spare hours of time 🤙🏽
Was the kit you linked, or very bulb? For the dash
Where did you buy them?
I bought those lights in red and they just weren't bright enough. Are yours bright enough?
Ah that sucks, the ones I installed were ridiculously bright.
In any case, great video and very helpful. But yeah I feel like the red color option for these LEDs is just not bright enough to really be usable. I'd assume the same to be true for pink and green. But the blue looked awesome in your truck. Glad it worked for you. I'll probably go with that instead.
Why didnt u do the mileage blue. That's possible rite
Do these same bulbs work for the hvac controls and light/dimmer switch?
I’m not sure to be honest. I haven’t done those before.
Would this work on a 02?
Do you know which is positive and negative on DS29?
I don’t unfortunately, however you can always use a digital multimeter to check the polarity
Is there a possibility neg diagram on the circuit board I can follow thanks
I’ve listed all the (-/+) terminals on the circuit board in the comments, hope this helps!
Do the indicator needles have their own bulbs too? Is it possible to swap those out as well?
You can purchase aftermarket needles if you want to change the colour of those as well, but they share the same backlit LED’s as the rest of the cluster.
@@warnerbu7lt Ahh okay, so does each needle get its own LED?
I was worried these bulbs weren’t even going to work on this truck so I feel relieved
I was sceptical myself, but they’re still going strong!
What model is. This sorry to ask
Model?
@@warnerbu7ltcan you send the link for the bulbs I need to change mine in my 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500hd
@richhernandez149 links are in the description
Looks great. I found the link for the lights on Amazon but I did not see the link for the diagram you found on a forum. Did I miss something? Can you still provide?
I did not link the forum where I found the diagram as I show it in the video @ 5:00
I screenshot it. It's a little fuzzy, but you can make out what you need to know. Black dots are ground, and brown dots are positive.
I want to do a red! Not sure if it would look nice I have an 03 SS so it has the white cluster
I did red on mine with white overlays and the silver bezel ring upgrade, love it but the bulbs I bought are having issues now. Time to replace again
How do you dim them?
Through the scroll wheel on the left side of the dashboard.
Do you know the positives and negatives for cruise control, tow haul light etc? I cant find a diagram anywhere
I've listed each pin's positive terminal in the description, hope that helps!
Does dimmer still work?
@6:45
Bro, can you that to my vehicle too? 2006 Tahoe
Hey! I was wondering were you dim the light from because I’m getting my dads 99 Chevy silveraldo for my first car !
There should be a vertical scroll/wheel dimmer on the left hand side of the instrument cluster 👍🏽
Do you know what kind of ledlights goes in a chevrolet express 2005. I hope you can help me. Thx
I don’t unfortunately, sorry.
You are doing it so fast that I didn’t have the time to see it
You can adjust the playback speed in the bottom right hand corner of the video if you’re having trouble following at regular speed. Hope that helps!
Could you put a link up for the circuit board diagram?
I no longer have the link however, I've listed each pin's positive terminal in the description, hope that helps!
I changed my lights on my 00 gmc sierra but the gauges won’t go back to normal, do I reset it?
If you didn’t mark exactly where the needles were prior to removal then you’ll need to recalibrate the tachometer.
What seats do you have in there they look nice
Just the OEM leather buckets my guy! They are in great shape though.
That was dope ..
How do I find this for my 2000 chevy silverado?
Nice 👍 work looks good 👍
Thanks 👍
Is there some reason people keep asking you for a link to the diagram, and you won't just throw out the link?
I no longer have the link however, I've listed each pin's positive terminal in the description, hope that helps!
What type of person that can do this specific job? A car electrician? Technician? I want to change mine but Im want to hire someone to do it for me.
I have a grudge against those clips Chevy uses I always break them lol
Now the steering wheel buttons
I want to do those once I get a carbon wheel!
Do they not ship to California. It says they cannot be delivered to my address? With our stupid governor I might not be able to have them😢.
I’m not sure as I’m in Canada. You could always try finding a different brand bulb that’s able to ship to you and give them a try?
i've never soldered before....lol..but maybe ill give it a shot!
It’s easier than you think! You got this! 💪🏽
Don’t get burned lol I did my first time
where did you get the LED's is there a part number. The ones I see on amazon the reviews are not to good.
I’ve left a link to the exact LED’s I purchased on Amazon in the description, hope this helps.
Where is the positive for the cruise light?
I've listed each pin's positive terminal in the description, hope that helps!
does anyone know which resisters are for the odometer cant find a video and cant see any bad connections
Are you getting any hotspots with these LED lights? I'm thinking of redoing the cluster on my 2002 TrailBlazer.
Nope, everything still looking great 👍🏽
Just to let people be very cautious using those tall skinny leds that come with stepper motors... they are total shit. They short out inside very easily and then you are chasing after which fuse is blowing and figuring out which light/s are shorting out. Go ahead... ask me how I know. I just ordered some more.
I had ordered stepper motors because my tach motor was messed up and I got these lights with them and I thought why not... blue lights in the dash. Kewl!!
Many hours of fun for this fubar situation. ;-)
Bro I put mine in and literally none of them came on. Can you help
Did you test the LED’s before soldering?
Nice work! 😎
Thanks!
Why are all these guys so fine!? I'm missing all the information because I can't concentrate
What is flux
Flux removes the oxide films on the surface of metals and helps the solder to flow more uniformly rather than just balling up.
Would you do mine
I can’t find the small t that you say
It is hard to see, but on the top of the LED there is a small T shape. If you're unable to see it, you can just test them all with a battery like I did and then label which side is your (-/+). Hope that helps!
Does this also change the color on the mileage meter and also the gear letter meter? My gear meter has gone out and i really wanna fix it!
Unfortunately not. These are only designed to upgrade the backlighting for your gauges. I’d advise sending your cluster in to a reputable professional to have your circuit board fixed.
🔥
Gotta do that to my truck!! Thanks!
You gotta get some red ones in your pickup! 💯
They say they won’t ship to my address n I’m in California
You can also try and source another brand of LED’s, just read the reviews and ensure they’re compatible with the cluster
We’re just going to let it slide the gauges go to 200MPH?👀😮👀 ain’t no way
200KPH , we in Canada bro haha
Bought a whole new 9V battery and tested them none of them worked I guess they sent me ones that don’t work lmao
Same here!
Too bad it takes a whole month for you to receive these in the mail :(
won't last cheap LEDs uneven light and your needles are not in the right positions
Well they’re still going strong as of today! 🤷🏽♂️. I also obviously recalibrated my cluster after reassembly, just didn’t include that in the video.
Guess that is why it's wrong
Verry verry good job sir me gujrat India se meter repair vala my channel is b m meter
