Pretty good video. Being a mechanic I was entirely here for vehicle specific information, which I did find. In this, as well as the video follow up for the stainless overlay. However, I did find myself getting fairly frustrated at different points. The issues I had were with the “extra” stuff. The phrase “sometimes less is more” I suppose is what got me. Where I was waiting for the next step, rather than explaining that you were going to clean it and that you couldn’t hold the camera, light, and do the work. Maybe steer clear of the extras and stay on point a little more. It’ll shorten your video length a great deal and stay on the topic at hand. Aside from that it was informative, and showed me what I was trying to figure out! I know my “gripes” sound ridiculous but a lot if the time most people are just looking for the straight to the point stuff lol. Thanks for taking the time to make the video!
I have a 2013 tahoe LS. Under the tachometer is a digital readout that scrolls through 9 different items, Total Mileage, Tripomter, fuel range, etc. On a sunny day when the sun shines in my driver side window, the LED’s aren’t bright enough to see the readout. I do have the dash light control maxed out, but the sun washes out the digital readout. The speedometer, tach, and other gauges are easily readable, but the digital readout below the tach, is readable at night, but seldom readable on a sunny day. Hoping an updated set of new LED’s would provide more brightness.
Angelo Mitchell what's everything that i need about to order these. Don't know which to get just clicked on the one that has dash board lights on there.
I will also had a idea dont know if its the same kind of bulbs but I was thinking the A/C controller lights if there's away to make those lights blue to match the gages I'm going to have to look into how hard would it be lol
So I just bought an 04 Silverado 1500 super mint you just gave me the best idea ever for it! Just the lights alone look great and the steel backing CHEFS KISS 🥹
Thanks for this, my 04 'Hoe needs replacement cluster bulbs, I ordered blue led's. Autozone(called Advanced and found out AZ full of crap) tried to sell me surface mount crap, I have the same set up you have for bulb numbers. My gear selector is heard to see because I have a couple bulbs out.
I did this to my 01 gmc jimmy & had no idea these bulbs didn't seperate from the sockets. I ended up with like 3 butchered finger tips due to them lil old brittle bulbs popping in my fingers while trying my damndest to wiggle & pull them apart lol
I recently did this on my Chevy Silverado with LEDs from amazon. They should have resistors in them already. I did a super clean job with the solder and I thought it turned out great. I tested them with a 9 volt battery and some wire to be sure they all worked and they did. But when I put it in my truck only the blinker lights want to work. Any ideas as to what’s going on? All the other dash lights and stepper motors work as well, just not the lights behind the gauges.
Cool I want to change mine on my tahoe mine came with green color all ugly.. wow very cool they came out 😊 where can I get some lights like those?? I was wondering if u can also change those green lights on the Milage area...
ABS control module is the most likely issue. If you know how to use a soldering iron you can fix it yourself. It’s located on the underside of the truck below the drivers seat. There’s a few videos out there that show you how to fix it.
hey, so I aslo have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe, I installed the exact same bulbs you did, however on my dash, for the speedo, upto 50 lights up fine then 60-100 is super dim almost barely noticable, same with the beginning half of the fuel gauge too. Any suggestions/Advice?
I ordered the exact same thing you did from the exact same place and I can only get 3 to work but those three don’t work when I twist them all the way. I have to wiggle them in just the right spot. Then they’ll come on. But that’s only 3 of them. The other 3 I can’t even get to come on. I know the circuit board is good because all my stock lights worked before
I’m doing the same to my 2001 Yukon, what year is your? I called the company you used and they don’t exist anymore. Do the light bulbs come off the original socket? Or did you have to replace the socket part to?
for my truck i went to this link www.superbrightleds.com/vehicle/2002-chevrolet-tahoe-vehicle-led-lights?make=16&model=1619&year=2002 and selected Instrument Panel Light Bulbs.
Hey I tired to put them in and everything was going fine till I turned them on and then nothing happened I’m not exactly sure where I went wrong on it any suggestions?
Is this the same set up for an 02 Silverado? If so which colors are which for the bulbs that are for the rest of the cluster (smaller bulbs) I plan on doing white or green for the gauges. (Big bulbs)
I don't see any reason why it would not particularly if you are talking about a 00-06 time frame. Definitely check with the company that sells the lights.
Yeah the Chevy please change that whole thing right there and when my brother got it back on his way home or back to work from picking up the vehicle it started flickering turn off and on and he went back and they said they wanted to do it there and he couldn’t figure out what was wrong but he had to go back to work because he was really running late any recommendations that we could do to fix that
My brother did that to the Tahoe I bought off him Chevy in Installed it and since then it has been going off and on to the point where it rarely turns on and I can’t see nothing on there and it messed with my life as well in the front on one side he took it back and they said they had nothing to do with that which is a total lie because there was nothing wrong with the vehicle before taking it in do you know what we can do to fix it
It sounds like they used cheap bulbs which are known to burn out rather quickly. I would buy some quality bulbs and replace them myself. As you can see in the video they aren't hard to replace if you are somewhat handy with tools. It's a shame you had to experience this, Good luck
My airbag light stays on now and my buddy hooked his snap on reader to it and said the bulb was not on but it is. Did your airbag light go off once you started it?
I’m considering this upgrade. My only concern is if the blue is annoyingly bright. I can’t stand blue lights on the front of home electronics. Of course those aren’t dimmable. Are these reasonable?
I have an 01 Tahoe. Need to know what the item number is on the led bulbs. I ordered what I thought was the right ones , but they do not fit. Hey Please please. Thanks

late model is a newer car. early model is an older car. by how many years, I don't know. If i compare my 02 tahoe to a 2019 tahoe, i would call the 2019 a late model and mine an early model. whether or not this is correct, i have no idea. i never gave it that much thought.
Hi will this work on my 2003 Chevrolet Silverado if so can you please help me out to get the right ones because I am so dumb for these things. PLEASEEE I want to get the red dashboard ones please help me
Heisenberg 89 hey I just fixed my trucks gauges you got to solder something in there that will power it back on. If you didn’t already look it up on TH-cam and seen videos of the repair being done. Just look it up
Wow I thought I had to solder a bunch of shit I did not know it was this easy😂
Good job! I had to solder my bulbs in ,but I got an 06 Silverado. Wish mine was the easy pop out bulbs. Great video!
Thanks 👍 I'm pretty sure I went back and soldered my after this video.
Great look! My '99, dash'left side is dark.Time to do something lol!

constructive criticism always appreciated. finding the right balance is hard when making these vids.
Steve's 5 C's oh i fully feel that.
I have a 2013 tahoe LS. Under the tachometer is a digital readout that scrolls through 9 different items, Total Mileage, Tripomter, fuel range, etc.

just ordered everything I need to do this to my Silverado after watching this video thanks for the idea lol
That's great! Pls send pics when you are done!
Angelo Mitchell what's everything that i need about to order these. Don't know which to get just clicked on the one that has dash board lights on there.
Steve's 5 C's what's the bulb sizes for both the numbers and the emergency lights in the top?
Where can I get the newer blue and metal gage you showed???
I liked the video. I'm going for orange I had a 96 Bonneville that had orange dash lights
Never thought of doing this, will be on the list for my 05 chevy blazer thanks for the idea!
anytime!
I will also had a idea dont know if its the same kind of bulbs but I was thinking the A/C controller lights if there's away to make those lights blue to match the gages I'm going to have to look into how hard would it be lol
I'm pretty sure I have seen someone else do the A/C lights on TH-cam.
That is sweet looking !!! Thanks for making this video !!! Nice job Bruther 👍
Bro I'm wanting to do this to mines. Hell yeah it looks awesome! I'm thinking all blue and maybe white. Still debating on it
Very good video man! Very detailed. Shows exactly what you need to do! Keep them coming man!
Appreciate you watching, thanks!
Tienes algún vídeo poniendo led en el panel del aire acondicionado y el de las luces? Excelente video muchas gracias bro
So I just bought an 04 Silverado 1500 super mint you just gave me the best idea ever for it! Just the lights alone look great and the steel backing CHEFS KISS 🥹
You’re next interior mod should be a chime box delete lol
now, that's funny right there!
Very cool. I will do this on my 01 Merc cougar. Thanks. Good vid.
Beautiful, man~ I am crazy about LEDz
Installed on a Silverado, thanks for the video man it was great, helped a ton!
so glad to help!
What year was your Silverado tryna do it for my truck as well
Thanks for this, my 04 'Hoe needs replacement cluster bulbs, I ordered blue led's. Autozone(called Advanced and found out AZ full of crap) tried to sell me surface mount crap, I have the same set up you have for bulb numbers. My gear selector is heard to see because I have a couple bulbs out.
The twist in LEDs he installed only work on 1999 to 2002 models. All newer models are soldered in place.
could you use this cluster and bulbs, just simply switch it? the connectors look the exact same
Good video Tahoe Steve, you really made it simple!!
Glad it was helpful!
I did this to my 01 gmc jimmy & had no idea these bulbs didn't seperate from the sockets. I ended up with like 3 butchered finger tips due to them lil old brittle bulbs popping in my fingers while trying my damndest to wiggle & pull them apart lol

You need to turn the bulbs around. The polarity is off that will fix your problem.
Missed a chance to say "Im in" when he opened the cluster
Just want to say Thank You... Awesome keep posting
Appreciate comments like this. They keep me motivated to keep making videos.
PC194 they gave me. You said PC195. But they work just fine
is there a specific part number for the new bulb sockets you used?
check out www.superbrightleds.com/cat/instrument-cluster-gauge/
Cool I want to change mine on my tahoe mine came with green color all ugly.. wow very cool they came out 😊 where can I get some lights like those?? I was wondering if u can also change those green lights on the Milage area...
I wish I could get this dam parking brake and abs light to disappear
ABS control module is the most likely issue. If you know how to use a soldering iron you can fix it yourself. It’s located on the underside of the truck below the drivers seat. There’s a few videos out there that show you how to fix it.
Pull the lights lol
put black tape lol
Rear speed sensor onto of the pumpkin. Popular in dodge too.
hi the big led holders are known as T10 and small ones are T5 i did replace it also
You can check polarity by the 2 wires on the LED. one is longer than the onther.
Cathode and annode
Is the long + and short - or vise versa. Tx
I like this. Anyway, do you have any mods for an 04 Chevy Colorado?
Owesome, but i would like the ac control and door power controls to match the dash
Man that’s cold I need this for my 03
Thanks for watching!
My 03 Tahoe isn't like this....bulbs are hardwired in.
Excellent information
Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Nice .I want too try this while i fix another issue on my dash
Easy mod, go for it!
Would this all work the same on an 07 classic?
That's is awesome,
Glad you like

I immediately noticed that on his, I doubt its fixable. Prolly only problem with this mod
I would guess being as the new bulbs are not polarity sensitive, it may cause current flow issues.
Mine just went out, might at well change all the bulbs, how is it for the big ones?
Can you please put the link or any info were can i buy the lights?? Thanks in advance
www.superbrightleds.com/
@@TahoeSteve Real Awesome Job!
make sure your model year is older than 2004 or the bulbs will be tiny and soldered in.
Questions I have a 01 Tahoe I wonder was is a kill switch for on the tahoe
say wha?
What is the size of led bulbs used T5 or T10 ? Plz let us know.
T10 are the big bulbs the small ones are T5 no need to change the small T5 unless it's burnt.
Do you know if custom needles for 03 to 06 trucks work on 01? I cant find needles for before 03. Thanks
I ordered the exact same thing you did from the exact same place and I can only get 3 to work but those three don’t work when I twist them all the way. I have to wiggle them in just the right spot. Then they’ll come on. But that’s only 3 of them. The other 3 I can’t even get to come on. I know the circuit board is good because all my stock lights worked before
Some people have told me that they had to solder them.
I’m doing the same to my 2001 Yukon, what year is your? I called the company you used and they don’t exist anymore. Do the light bulbs come off the original socket? Or did you have to replace the socket part to?
What size are the twist locks for 2005 Tahoe
How do i get the small ones don't see thrm.
for my truck i went to this link www.superbrightleds.com/vehicle/2002-chevrolet-tahoe-vehicle-led-lights?make=16&model=1619&year=2002 and selected Instrument Panel Light Bulbs.
I want to do this to my 05 Silverado. Is there a way you can send me a link for the big bulbs?
Good information for LED install on my 2002 Silverado
Thanks for watching!
2004 and newer have soldered in bulbs( watch Deboss Garage he shows how to solder them in) Tahoe Steves must be older year!!
Yeah it's a 2002
yep
Yeah I found out after I ordered the bulbs then opened the cluster.
Awesome vid bro.helped a lot!
Glad to hear it!
I’m going to have to do this to my 2000 gmc Yukon I bought 2 weeks ago. But the only problem is that the battery light comes on and turns off.
unplug the cluster and plug back in
Thanks for the video. Now let’s do the same to my truck
Thank you for commenting, best of luck with your truck!
What type of tool do you need to pull out the screws
Good work bro..💯
thanks!
Hey I tired to put them in and everything was going fine till I turned them on and then nothing happened I’m not exactly sure where I went wrong on it any suggestions?
Papa rich flip the bulbs around
Cool video
@tahoe Steve how many lights come in a package or do u have to put 6 when it says quantity
Its been so long, i dont remember, sorry.
How are they when driving at night? I want to go with green, but red might be better if it's screwing with your night vision too badly.
They are not too bad. I do have the dimmer turned all the way down, but that is mainly because my gauge pod is so bright.
Where did you order it from
I put the same kind in my 96 chevy and they look amazing, but they are very bright when you run the backroads. And being LED you can not dim them down
Update, I did green and have absolutely no regrets, they look awesome, and they dim well too.
I have a 06 GMC 2500hd I only wish it was that easy
put a black ziptie on the boot of ur shifter handle mime was torn to an u could see al the metal and wire it looked ugly but the black ziptie worked
Where did u get the updated instrument panel at
www.usspeedo.com/
great vid. oh & what can happen if I don’t disconnect the negative battery cable ?
you could touch pos to ground accidentally and short the whole system to the tune of several thousand bucks.
Perfect!!!!!!
Do you have the part numbers for lights and gage
On Amazon what did you look this under because i know its a led but did you put anything else
Looks good
thanks
Is this the same set up for an 02 Silverado? If so which colors are which for the bulbs that are for the rest of the cluster (smaller bulbs) I plan on doing white or green for the gauges. (Big bulbs)
should be but please do your research because i am not 100% sure
What tool do you need to unscrew the cluster bolts?
Dose the battery really have to be turned of ?
Bought sum leds and the twist locks but they arent working turned then 180 degrees and still nothing
i ended up soldering them later cause they wouldn't stay on
Do you have a link to that custom gauge face??
www.usspeedo.com/
Will this also work on a Silverado/Sierra?
I don't see any reason why it would not particularly if you are talking about a 00-06 time frame. Definitely check with the company that sells the lights.
Yes it will I did it on my 00 Sierra with cyan and purple lighrs
After 2003 it’s different but it will work on all 2000-2006
Hey bro would you get the customer gauge plate....
www.usspeedo.com/
Will these lights fit an 03 Silverado
Went on the website but not sure what bulbs they are
How were u able to get the factory bulb out with out breaking them
You have to buy new bulb sockets... I ran into the same problem thinking you can just replace the bulbs with leds...
Gerardo Esparza I took them off but some LED lights turn on, does that mean I have to buy the sockets and where can I get them please help
I took off the bulb lights from the sockets and put the LED ones back on them
@@FaveGamer on ebay or amazon for like 10 bucks with bulbs and socket
IDONTPAUSE how did you take them out with a lot of force?
Yeah the Chevy please change that whole thing right there and when my brother got it back on his way home or back to work from picking up the vehicle it started flickering turn off and on and he went back and they said they wanted to do it there and he couldn’t figure out what was wrong but he had to go back to work because he was really running late any recommendations that we could do to fix that
What would happen if I didn’t disconnect the negative on the battery?
nothing would happen, but you **could** accidentally shout out your electric system.

The website sells the bulbs in 5s..? Did you order 10 bulbs? I hope u can help me out
My airbag light stays on now and my buddy hooked his snap on reader to it and said the bulb was not on but it is. Did your airbag light go off once you started it?
no probs with the airbag light
Might be a dumb question but when you turn the key to the “acc” position where is the “check engine “light at ? Or is it the service engine light!
Yea it says service engine soon😊
Was there any soldering of any sort or just plug and play. Ive read some reviews about i may have to rotate the bulb 180 degrees or something
I soldered 'em in just to keep 'em there
Just got all the leds great idea thank you but do they make the cluster for a 2009 GMC Yukon ?
not sure, try Googling US Speedo. that's who made mine
JeepGirl 33 m
Big Country I tried they never answered me back lol
I’m considering this upgrade. My only concern is if the blue is annoyingly bright. I can’t stand blue lights on the front of home electronics. Of course those aren’t dimmable. Are these reasonable?
they are bright but the stock dimmer helps.
How did you attach the new face?
it sticks
Was that the cool 6500k or blue?
I have an 01 Tahoe. Need to know what the item number is on the led bulbs. I ordered what I thought was the right ones , but they do not fit. Hey
Please please. Thanks
best thing to do is call superbrightleds. i would not want to give you the wrong info for your vehicle
The new bases lock in at 2 o'clock. How did the back cover fit back on? Or did you not install it?
everything was seamless when i did mine
I changed my gauge lights the same way as you but the gas, oil, and temp lights aren’t quite as bright the main speedometer and rpm lights. Any idea why?
there are a couple more "smaller" bulbs for those . i only changed the main gauge lights in the video. i did not want the other stuff being so bright.
How can you change the color of the mileage and PRND321?
its been a while - but i believe those are the small bulbs you can replace
It says early model or late model how do I know which one my 2000 tahoe is?
late model is a newer car. early model is an older car. by how many years, I don't know. If i compare my 02 tahoe to a 2019 tahoe, i would call the 2019 a late model and mine an early model. whether or not this is correct, i have no idea. i never gave it that much thought.
My instrument cluster is the one without the bulbs like yours. I ordered them but it's not like yours.
Tengo un GMC Envoy 2004 y las luces de los relojes del tablero no encienden, pudiera se un fusible
Hi will this work on my 2003 Chevrolet Silverado if so can you please help me out to get the right ones because I am so dumb for these things. PLEASEEE
I want to get the red dashboard ones please help me
GREAT VIDEO 👍👍
This is where you want to go: www.usspeedo.com/
I wanted this on my 2004 chevy tahoe but my cluster is totally different from yours
Saul Dean I have an 04 yukon I wanna do this too and I think my cluster is just like his unless I’m trippin
Mine too(
Mine looks the same but it’s soldered on the back there’s nothing to unplug like his is. ): got an 05
My silverado doesnt show the gears how do i make em show on the bottom display
It's been a while since I did this, but as I recall, there was not a replacement bulb for the PNRD321.
Ooo
Heisenberg 89 hey I just fixed my trucks gauges you got to solder something in there that will power it back on. If you didn’t already look it up on TH-cam and seen videos of the repair being done. Just look it up
Dylan Rebolledo tru tru
Five hundred 20s u right lol but idk i just think i might seem nicer if it said the gears i dint mind it being like that
Does the dimmer still work with these bulbs?
That was my question too. I didn't think leds were dimmable... Did you ever find an answer?
