@NuttersInCyprus there wasn't any other English children in our little school so my boys picked it up very quickly as I'm sure yours will too. Honestly best thing we ever did wishing you all the very best for your future here in Cyprus x

@jackmelvin9551 thanks Jack. I'm planning on documenting everything, so if you have anything else you think would be helpful to know, leave it in the comments, and I'll see if I can do a video about it.
@@NuttersInCyprus i watched your video about getting the visa to live, would it be possibke for you to do a video on more information about a working visa cheers👍
@jackmelvin9551 I die of embarrassment from that video but thought it would be funny to look back on in a few years so left it up. The laws change all the time. But from what I understand currently there is a shortage of workers in the hospitality sector, meaning certain bars and restaurants can hire 3rd country nationals (UK being included in that), so basically you get hired by a bar and they put you through immigration on a working visa. From what I understand you can work until the decision is made, but I could be completely wrong with that. It's better to have feet on the ground and ask the bars/restaurants themselves.
@@NuttersInCyprus what you are doing is great mate, useful information and bothing is put on for the camera just a great family having a great time following the dreams and making it reality👍
I used to work in the Middle East and Paphos has been my base since the late eighties. A great place to live but not without its drawbacks. Our youngest daughter went to The International School of Paphos. It was a good school with some fantastic teachers, but like most Cypriots, we ended up paying €400 per month in extra tuition fees on top of the ISOP fees. Our three granddaughters go to state school, and our eldest daughter has to pay extra tuition fees for English and Maths. I would also advise your wife not to do any work until she has a work visa in her passport, the promise of visas here is like that old adage, the cheques in the post. If she's caught, she will be arrested and deported. My daughter was restaurant manager at one of the big hotels and they were regularly raided by Immigration and half the staff who were waiting for their visas were arrested and deported. Not trying to rain on your parade. I'm just trying to give some idea how it works here.
@jimbuchan8055 cheers Jim thanks for the heads up and thanks for watching, before we do anything we always get legal advice from the immigration lawyer we use! He said in the way we was planning on doing it, it would have been legal. However, we decided it's best for Emily not to take any work and for me to add an extra client to my UK consultancy company. With the Kids they are going to state school, I'm not sure how much your daughter is paying for extra English & Maths lessons, but let her know that there are online schools that start at about 29 per month, per child, with a full years worth of work in Maths, English, Science and so on. Or you can use sites like Udemy for kids courses on computer coding, art/drawing, personal finance, business, writing and so on! Also when we left the UK I got a friend of ours who's a substitute teacher to send me over all of her work sheets by email so i can print them off. Also it might be worth mentioning to your daughter there is a great website called K5Learning which is great for maths sheets etc and some of them are free to print.

how do you cope with the heat during the summer months, I notice its up at 37 degrees some days and how do you manage with that and not get heatstroke?. I'm moving from Edinburgh to Gozo in Malta as I already have citizenship due to me being part Maltese, My parents have a small house out there and we visit 3 times a year and have been for all I can remember, however I will permanently move next year to Malta (I chose Malta over Cyprus as I am more comfortable there and know people more). The way we try and cope during summer is to run the AC and only to go out for an hour or so early morning however if you are living there then you'd probably need to be out the house for longer.
