Cypriots certainly know how to design houses; compared to the UK, their homes have so much space. While the house looked lovely, I was captivated by how bright blue the sky was. Looking forward to seeing your own new home and it's great that everything is coming together for you. Stay lucky😊
@marian6593 thank you! And yeah the weather's nice, definitely cooling down but still nice, we're going to drop the kids at after school club then go for a walk down on the coast in Cap St George 😀
Thats a cracking house mate. I was looking at that view compared with the one Ive got now (wet woodlands) and thinking hmm... Keep the vids coming mate they are really getting me fired up to get back out there (current move plan is south of france near Cannes, but France has so much red tape its putting me off for more than a holiday gaff)
The other half’s dad is out there at the moment he loves paphos .. we been in last 5 years in December weather always been nice just a couple of thunder storms.. we normally stay at Louis Phaethon Beach but we are trying King Evelthon Beach Hotel this time ..maybe in 5 years we will look to move there ourselves . Thanks for videos gives me an idea of costs etc
Don’t know if you’ve been out to the Polis area yet but I think a video about the area might be something that your older followers may be interested in. It’s not as British as Peyia, it is quieter. Maybe interviewing the ex pats here to ask them why they came, best things, worst things etc…?…
@neilsmith7267 we have friends in Polis, but have never made a video. We did Latchi aswell but again never made a video. If you know of places we should check out in Polis and you know where a few expats may be to have a chat with, then let me know and I'll arrange to go up and make a video 😀
👍going back to England in 3 weeks. Will try and get over to Peyia again the week after next as TH-cam is very clever at removing email addresses and telephone numbers.
@MichaelKay-lp3hn I'm not sure I'd live there but that's because I'm comparing to the house I've bought which is the house I've dreamt of for years. I'd take it as an investment property for holiday let's. I'd want go know if profits could be improved and how. But as a rental no I wouldn’t change anything, I'd probably keep it running as is, and look at how to improve the margins
I was born and raised in London to Cypriot parents and would love to live there but house prices are steep and then you need an income. Unless you have a good job lined up and cash money to buy a house then this is not doable for the majority. I can retire in a few years but my pension wouldnt cover the cost of living there and all my money would go into a property so I would have to continue working. I have been looking at other places like Bulgaria where you can get a lot more for your money and live comfortablely on a reasonable pension
@inconvenientfacts6452 yeah lots of variables tho. Do you need a 380k rentable house to retire here? Or do you need an 80k house? If you have Cypriot parents you don't need to meet an earnings criteria. Why not rent a 2 bed apartment in Peyia for £500 per month, right next to all the bars? Anyway horses for courses, good luck with your future move to Bulgaria 🙏 I nearly moved there in 2005, very corrupt so moved to Portugal instead.
@NuttersInCyprus I go to Cyprus at least three times a year and prices have shot up, even in the Northern side. Cypriots also like to own things and not rent haha, just the way we are. It's about doing the maths, what life you want and what you can afford.
Because your parents are Cypriots, you can apply for a Cypriot passport, and that will allow you to work, not only in Cyprus, but all the other EU countries.
@migadonte I'm unsure there will be ways around it. Somebody told me the other week that they are from the UK and have been offered a mortgage from a Cypriot bank. Then you have people who can get mortgages in the UK for an investment property abroad (atleast that used to be the case) There would be a deposit required for both of the above situations.
@@sophiamatheou6448 that was also part of the reason of us moving here when we did. Personally I feel it’s about to become the place to be and anybody who doesn’t come very soon will miss out and no be able to in the future. I could be massively wrong but I make our decisions on where I think the world’s going, not when it’s already happened!
@ don’t think you are wrong I feel London Uk is getting more poorer and more deprived because of the government and to much tax. Hope it works well and will enjoy your vlogs. The memories I had when I was young coming to Cyprus and seeing families are amazing. The stories I can tell you when my grandparents were born in Cyprus they had it tough.
Hi Tom and family what a nice villa it is and congratulations on buying your house good luck with everything and looking forward to seeing it and it’s such a shame that we have come out of the EU wish we was still in it as it’s making it a lot harder with things
40 k income from rent sounds like rubbish to me , very basic rental that’s 20 weeks at 2 grand a week but don’t think this is worth anything like that that’s 20 weeks, or 5 months solid dreamland 😳😳😂😂
@neilwharton720 depends what you want out of it. If your wanting to own a property in Cyprus and use it for 3 months for your self, then rent it out the rest of the year it's probably not a bad shout. Plus think I read somewhere properties increased 7% avg year on year in Cyprus.
I have lived in Cyprus 30 years! Would never buy here! Unless you are going to die in Cyprus! Takes years to sell and thats if you have full deeds! Much better to keep your property in the UK and rent it out and rent here!
If I was your age I would never buy! You don't know if you want to still be here in 5 or 10 years. Property here does not sell quickly like in UK. I have had friends wanting to go home, the minimum sale time is 2 years but I know others who haven't sold after 5 years - currently on for way less than they paid for it. If you are in your sixties let's say and are sure you want to be here for ever and will never want to sell, maybe buy with extreme caution! If I were you I would put your money back into a UK property and rent it out. Much much safer and it's always there to go back to if you need it!
@normanlee31 I heat that, but (1) we have already bought. (2) we know 1 thing, we definitely don't want to be in the UK in 5 years. (3) the house we bought was on the market for 11 days. (4) the house we tried to buy before that was sold within 2 months, we was out bid. (5) if we want to move back to the UK we will rent and then buy. (6) the rental yields are very similar in the UK & CY, only difference is your not crippled by the taxes in CY. As I say it's all subjective, horses for courses!
Ok. I hope it goes well for you! I don't know any area in Cyprus where houses have been sold so quickly. Maybe it's just exclusive to your area? If you feel it's really for you then go ahead, but too many have come over and bought in the 'honeymoon phase' and either regretted it or ran into endless pitfalls. Above all please make sure that the property you are buying has title deeds!
@normanlee31 OK, thank you, it's in Sea Caves, St George. We lived in Portugal for 15 years, that's where I owned property, I have never wanted to own in the UK. it's just not somewhere I want to be. If we ever want to leave CY we have already discussed we would keep it as a holiday home and rent it out as a holiday let when not here. Our lawyers are going through all the legals at the minute, if no issues arise we will move forward with the purchase 🤞 All the best 🙏
@@NuttersInCyprus no ask for proof of the deeds and make sure you see them. I tried to sue a builder only to be told by my lawyer that she couldn't because she was he builders cousin.
