    i absolutely love the pikes peak mutli! You have the ergonomics for comfortable touring, plenty of seat real-estate if you want to take wifey, touring capabilities to mount hard saddle bags if you want to go long distance, 17 inch wheels and power to hand with any sport bike on the twistes and the looks to turn heads! This is a bike where u can sell every machine in your stable and have one end all be all bike! i don't know if its because I'm getting older and am now in my early 30s but am absolutely obsessed with this thing!

      PP over Superduke GT for wife/luggage for sure. Better handling to boot. Better suspension. "Creamier". A lot more money--but you can see and feel the money. Hellcat vs Audi RS7. Let's see what the new BMW XR1000 M has for it. And the new generation SD GT 1390.

    9000 miles in here on a PP--some fact and reality: LONGER wheelbase than standard Multistrada. Vibration is present enough at 80-90 MPH that mirror surely vibrates/is blurred slightly--see remark on gearing below. Artificial partial throttle power cuts in first 3 gears built into stock map. Many are heading into aftermarket for unleashed ECUs. All the makers seem to be doing this power cut in partial throttle--BMW 1000cc motor is even worse. Gearing is a bit short--see vibration post above--but instant acceleration in 6th is happening. Still a better, more comfortable two-up sport TOURER than my former SUPERDUKE GT--which wallowed in corners. CAN get 200 miles MAX (35-37 mpg) on tank if riding with wife--but fairly sporty. Once mapped and full-race systemed up--motor made only 5 foot pounds less torque than my GT did stock/slip on.

    Multistrada range are awesome . The Rally being the most practical in. My opinion with its 30litre tank 👍
    Great daily bike/commuter.
    I went with the Streetfighter V4s , however. I’m a fair weather and weekend rider.
    Rider experience/fun/aesthetics wins over ultimate practicality.
    Also ADV and tourers are just so heavy. Fine while you’re moving but drop it, reverse it etc… a problem.

    OC - Excellent review Chase. I do love mine :). Best bike Ducati has ever made. You never get tired of the power, stability and comfort. Quick-shifter takes time, but once you get synced up to how it works best, it's very smooth. I really think the momentum change with the higher mass drives the surge and as amazing as the electronics are, the electronics can't handle the dynamics as well as the lighter machines.

    OC - Idk man. BMW has a special place in my heart as well. I'd love a GS 1250 or a GSA in low suspension just as much, but this Multistrada has the radar cruise, which the BMW did not for that model. Maybe the 1300GS will. If you take care of them, both will last you a really long time and lots of smiles per mile.

    • @johnmoe2806
      @johnmoe2806 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I tried a V4PP yesterday. I arrived on my GSA 1250. There are things I love with my GSA but coming from Aprilia Tuono 1100 Factory I miss the fun which is more or less non existing on the BMW in comparison imo. But the GSA is what I use the most. It is reliable, comfy and generally smooth sailing with lots of torque. For two years the plan was to sell the Aprilia and just have the GSA. Now I am thinking that the Multistrada Pikes Peak, which looks fantastic by the way, maybe will combine the best from both worlds. An adventure with power, and the looks, how great is that. In addition best suspension from Öhlin's, blindspot indicator, adaptive cruise control, etc. Things I do not have on any of the two other bikes. When I rode the PP I was shocked how nimble it felt coming of the GSA. I almost felt like a moped in size, but the speedometer told me otherwise. I remember I felt the opposite first time on a GSA. Like riding an Elephant. Very different driving experience from the GSA and in some ways more like the Tuono thanks to the 17 inch wheels and how the bike handles. It lacks the torque in low rpm's compared to the GSA. Anyways you cant go wrong with Multistrada V4 or the GS/GSA, I think. Most seem to prefer the BMW for long touring.

    Chase I see you described the vibration as non existent- 0n the bars / pegs, but do you feel any odd vibrations / oscillation at hi speeds as if you had an unbalanced tire and feel it through the bars, I'm talking pulls like you did all the way up to 90+

    • @HariNedunghat
      @HariNedunghat ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Have pushed mine close to max limit, yes I mean it. No vibrations. Road conditions matter a lot though. While upshifting on 90+ miles I do experience a small oscillation which I think ride induced nit the bike.

    • @lennykibbs260
      @lennykibbs260 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HariNedunghat So you basically feel only wind induced buffeing and engine pulses when pushing your bike, bars are dead still, with exception of vibes related to the engine which to me is not severe even at the higher RPM's.. I experience 3 distinct frequencies 1 from wind 2 from engine which to me are absolutely normal and a 3rd which feels like something is out of balance like a tire or a wheel that's not true or have excessive radial runout... I can isolate the 3rd vibe by disengaging the clutch at speed where the vibes materialize, what I described above is exactly what I feel and as I coast down from triple digits back down to posted highway speeds the severity decreases below 70 and can barely feel it.. rinse and repeat get back up to the speeds and its back, really can't sustain these speeds because the vibes are uncomfortable blurs the living hell out of your mirrors and fear it may lead to a tank slapper. But what about road conditions? I have pretty decent roads by me
