Considering all the challenges your Tundra has gone through, and survived, it’s great that you are treating it to a nice upgrade with this air lift kit. Well done!
I about split my coffee out when you ran to that fence like a 10 year old and then chased the ice cream truck. Classic, and thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. We really do appreciate it.
I think seeing you do a small "Tundra Refresh" build series would be neat. Paint correction, some fender flares, new shocks, maybe TRD Pro wheels from the Taco or 4Runner (because of the 6 lug). Idk. Just think it would be cool to see since you daily this cool rig
I put bags on a Nissan Xterra I had many years ago and it was a game changer for towing. A little tip, mount the lines through the two unused holes in your rear license plate so they arent sticking out where they can get broken off or filled with crud.
Dude! Beautiful camera work! That shot running to the fence and looking over to see the ice cream man then dissolving into the skateboard chase...Genius!
That military equipment may be trans loaded there and bound for Tobyhanna Army Depot in Tobyahanna PA where they do maintenance/warehousing/upgrading of equipment.
My daily is a 1st gen DC. The rear sag is bad when towing anything besides an empty trailer. Someone gave me a universal airbag kit a while back. This vid just convinced me to install it on the Tundra.
Extra credit for the BIG SKY COUNTRY bumper sticker. Montana will always be home with fond memories. Your videos are priceless. Thank you for producing them with not only your work on “everything” but editing too. Hugs to Gus. J

I ordered similar bags for my truck. Ebay as well. I have an 07 Avalanche with coil springs on the rear. My bags are more for support than anything. I tow a 33' travel trailer, and these bags help with weight distribution. The difference is that my bags go inside of the coil spring.
I installed the firestone bags on my 04 tundra when my leaf springs got tired. They are great. I've had close to 3k lbs of tile loaded and it was fine. But if I run the truck with high psi unloaded the ass jumps around like crazy. These trucks are great.
GREAT JOB CHRIS ,,THE BAGS LOOK AWSOME... TO BAD YOU COULDNT FIX THAT AIR LEAK PROUBLEM YOU ALWAYS CAN FIX EVERY THING ... YOU LOOK LIKE MY SON MAX ,,,AND I CHASING AFTER HIM HEARING THAT ICE CREAM TRUCK ,,.. VERY COOOOOL!!! THANKS...
I run the coil spring helper bags inside my rears in a lowered yukon that I tow with. Trying to be cheap I installed a generic 12v compressor on the frame but used airlifts control gauge that powers and releases the air. I run 5 psi unloaded and 50 (max) during towing and I’ve been pleased with it. Going on 5 years now and the dash control of up and down is a game changer. They do sell a compressor to for around 100 IIRC but my $30 generic compressor works fine. I also keep the manual fill port in case of a compressor failure.
Nice install, Chris. It's worth mentioning that while airbags may level the truck with a trailer attached, they contribute zero, zip, nada to weight distribution. I don't think I've ever seen a weight distributing hitch with a boat trailer but they're very common on travel trailers.
Thanks, this is awesome. As my suspension is now, I try not to tow our camper after dark because my headlights blind oncoming traffic due to "the squat." I'm definitely going to install these in the spring. I re-geared the diffs to 4.88, which definitely helps when towing uphill. The 2-Uzi 4.7 is givin' it all she's got!
Chris can you and Jen do an in depth tool box tour of all your tool boxes now that they’re in the garage? I keep repeatedly watching your old Snap On KRSC326 tool cart tour video from like 3 years ago and being a tool box tour video fanatic I want to see all your boxes🤣
I have a second gen Tacoma that rides mostly level unloaded and really sags once my wife piles it full of crap for a road trip. I've been thinking about air bags to help with that. Especially when towing a trailer. This is useful info - thanks!
We had these bags on a Chevy delivery truck, LOVED them! I wanted to get these for my 2010 Tundra, unfortunately AirLift doesn't make this style kit for my truck, they make a bag with an internal bump stop that fits under the frame and attaches to the top of the leaf spring. Long story short, me personally, I hated them. Went with a different brand air spring kit and added cradles so the underside of the bag can float if it needs to for articulation. Most people don't realize how limiting a bag can be.
you should do a collab build with Sarah n tuned , you find a classic resto car and the 2 of you restore it.. both have similar amount of subs so would boost both channels.
Hi Chris, it also works on armor SUVs like Land Crusiers, Range Rovers, etc. Just check the max load and with the air lift bags makes a big difference, very good how to video.

i will have to admit. i thought those bags looked cheesy out the box but once you inflated them i was surprised. good investment keeping the truck from being tired and tired looking lol. i forgot you have everything in their for repairs and such. but what ever you do make sure you have the E-brake on and low gear when unloading boats on a ramp! air bags wont make it float in ten feet of water ha ha.
I found this video extremely helpful. I’ve often wondered if they made a simple system such as this where you don’t have to put a compressor under the hood. Thank you and keep up the great work!
Had the same bags on my Tacoma so I could haul my overloaded 16ft enclosed trailer from PA to NC when I moved , just recently removed cause I dont really need anymore and it did make the ride a little stiffer and different even with min. air in them , but they do work well had them on for four years and left the upper bracket on and air line there in case I need them again .
Well this is crazy... Chris I had installed the same kit maybe just a year ago bc I tow a small 6'x10' cargo trailer and my '03 Tundra's box with a Workman cap covering the bed is filled with things that already are a load for the old shocks and leaf springs... yeah it was a definite neccessary addition to have better steering axle control and now I see less of the hood out over the steering wheel. If you know what I mean. I'm going back to the video now to see how your install went; with help and a lift at my mechanic's shop we, he and I installed this kit within a couple hours. Drilling into the frame for the mounts was a bit of a task... I can't wait to see how you manage... we both being in our 60's and not the healthiest dudes manhandled that drill together... Also I placed the valves up in the driver's side rear wheel well, there were holes there already. I'm in the furnace state of AZ and I worry those rubber bags are drying out fast. So how are they so far? Well I didn't tow now for some time but just the other day I hitched up my cargo trailer and needed to add air to the bags, I feel like they are holding to date, thus far, so good. Edit: I don't go mudden so having the air valves up in the wheel well hasn't been an issue, just thought I'd say ...
Is that the ice cream truck. It is😂😂😂. Great job with the air lift installations, it good idea because you leave the extra weight in the truck all the time.

I’ve got the air lift system on my 21 Silverado trail boss, they work real nice. I keep mine around 25-30lbs when pulling. And “5” psi empty (pretty much zero… but shhhhhh) only leak I had was where the air line also attached to the bag (I got the stainless braided system with the built in bump stops for mine) and I had to pretty much go 3-4x the torque spec to get it to seal up. Outside of that it’s been great, still miss my 3500 thou 😢
Also, nice part with the Silverado at least with my kit, no drilling installation! It just has you unbolt the bump stop and put the air bag in its place basically. Which I’m also in the rust belt (peoples republic of New York) it’s nice for keeping the frame untouched much as I can (yes I krown coat my truck yearly, and try to only drive the truck when needed in the snow for my snowmobile trips, otherwise I ran my corolla in the salt)
