Before you even encounter them, release the wheel, the momentum of your ship will get you through the event. It works on legendary ships. Consider only taking down one out of the two ships.

i tried this on ps4 countless times, never worked, the ships never got close enough, tried pointing the gun at them, tried turning a bit to the right and left, tried coming from different angles, they never got close enough to swing over or jump, but i managed to do it the "normal" way in the end. my ship fully upgraded just make sure to brace everytime they try to hit you, and get them both close to death before killing either one.
Funny thing is the two ships were tangled up against each other I legit waited for an hour for them to come to me and which they never did, so I just swam to them and vented my anger to them in which I was not able to do due to them being a legendary ship basically you can't swim and climb on them which wasted even more time for me, despite being a legendary ship they're the slowest.
2023 first play through..first 3 legendary ships piece of cake..been trying this one 2 days now..will try it AGAIN this way tomorrow..a win is a win..lol..
Copypaste from my comment in Kreative's video 💙 It does work It is 1/12/19, while you aproach the ship just spam A+A and hold B to stop grabbing the wheel, already done It with this ship and the Black Lady, It has some glitches but if you're clever enough you will figure It out how to surpass them, I think the only ship you can't cheese or would not be that easy are the twin ships, you need to be lucky to get the second one close enough to board It. ~The Black Lady or "La dama negra" with the same process, the only change is the ship itself, it has an invisible barrier but you can alert the guards to fall in the water, a brute can stay on the ship even if you alert him, but you can kill him by alerting him and let him throw a grenade but you have to be right above him, he will fall by his own grenade if you angle It correctly. ~Done it with The Impoluto same process as the Prince. ~Kinda done It with The twin ships, you only can cheese one of them, you have to wait like a 9 or 8 minutes because they move sooooo slow, if the ship doesn't come near your ship retry the same process until you get It, when you finish one ship you have to face the other one normally, sadly you need quite a advanced ship to win against him and even worse, in my game the ship left was the Fearless and for some reason the other respawn but It wasnt a priority target, if that happens you only need to destroy the ship with a health bar in the objective tab, after that the other ship will vanish. I need to complete all the achievements after owning the game for too god damn long and my god even fully upgraded It is a pain in the ass beating all those ships almost 40min per ship, thank you man you made my december 💜 That's all i can give you my friends.
Honestly 40min per ship is too long. I have done the glitch for killing them without facing actual battle, but its a lot easier to just get behind them and use the chain shots to slow them down and ram them, if you aim forward and double tap A, it gives you extra speed to do more damage. Takes maybe 5 minutes per ship

@@FreakinRican6969 if you still wanna know months later you need to let go of the steering wheel just before the cutscene starts. I think the cutscene plays at 562 meters away so let go of the wheel at around 580 meters or so.
A nice trick if you don't know the ships actually don't moving the waves is pushing it so if you want to do this glitch and make them get closer to you you need to go to them from the way that the waves are heading to to push them towards you directly
I just tried this morning. I let the wheel off and then waited for quite a long time. I knew that your method won't work cause I've tried it many times. But apparently, HMS Fearless and Royal Sovereign don't always stick together. Royal Sovereign was quite far at that time so I took my wheel back and started bombarding HMS Fearless until it sank. Then I chase the other one and sank it effortlessly. lol Oh, actually HMS Fearless (or the other) will respawn infinitely if the other one don't get sunk. But it won't attack you if it's alone.
I did it !!! just the way it was displayed in the video. Had to do it several times just to get the ships on the right location. They flew right by me several times. Once I destroyed one ship it will respawn back up but I only had to destroy the other one which count, and the game will register it as both destroyed even though one ship was respawned from the dead.
Joosie Good question. I’m not sure, they’ll most likely fall through the ship as if they spotted you and drown, you’d probably have to kill the rest of them too to lower the health bar.
You need to kill everyone on the ship that are visible, as seen in the video they fall through the ship as they haven't actually rendered the floor to move. Kill the gunmen on the higher levels, get on the other ship, do the same thing, get back to the Jackdaw and blow them up. :D
2023 here, i couldnt get the ships to line up (pc), but when i got back on the helm they still didnt attack me, even when i shot at them multiple times they still didnt attack me, so thats pretty much a free 20k to take lmao
On mine, the ships come to my ship, but not close enough for me to board them, and then they just keep circling me at a distance too far for me to board..
Alex Hartz I'm not entirely sure why they don't try and collide with the ship, but just reset the fight and be ready to jump between the masts, even if it takes 5 minutes for them to slowly crawl to you. You'll get it eventually. :)
charliebartman same here, cant climb them too, he just keeps swimming againt a wall or something, aftet 30 mins of trying i made a swing with a rope from the top of the jackdaw and landed in the net. After killing the entire crew edward could bot climo over the ships little fence back either. They made the entre outside climpproof. So i had to climb to the top amd jump off. They kinda fixed it
Yes so I destroyed the Royal Sovereign by getting on board and then when I went to go and fights The Fearless for some reason the Royal Sovereign respawned and I died🙄
Looks more painful and annoying to this than fighting them straight up front lol.. just upgrate your jackdaw to max level and afterwards it become a piece of cake
I actually didnt have to fight any of them. When i was climbing on top of one of the pillar i guess, the other ship came and knocked me on it self. After i killed everyone there i could just jumo to the other one.
I think you could actually jump on one of the ships, then it stops and jump straight to the other one for it to stop as well and then kill everyone... Might work
The HMS fearless I took on them they got much powerful naval armour and armoury guns that are impossible to take that out you need upgrade rockets to take out that thing. Why do you think they call it the legend one because unlike all the other boats it has never lost a single war against the pirates. You have to release the wheel that’s how you do it and drift towards them not take them on.
Spartanin PL If you're watching on mobile, i would advise skipping to about 5:00 minutes in as the ships for some reason slowed down to a snails pace, I'm not sure why this happened but I sat through it.
Fnaf Lover i have notifications on for comments, I also kept holding out a pistol at the beginning as i was trying to entertain myself, waiting 5 mins for the ships to arrive.
Every time I wanted to destroy these legendary ships i would get off the wheel just when I can see them but not when I’m close enough to be in battle and i would jump off the jackdaw and swim to the ships and then climb on the boats and kill all the guards. Once i finished killing all the guards I jump off the ships and swim back to my boat and then you go into battle but the ships do not try to move or attack you because I killed all the guards on the ships and then you can just unload on the ships and it’s 10x easier
Has this been patched or something? I’ve tried this about 4 times and every time they just kinda chill, they don’t come anywhere near close enough and it’s been about 10 minutes
you have to release the wheel at a certain distance from ship(s) as when you get too close you trigger the cut scene and you wont be able to release the wheel after that

I have exactly the same. In fact, if I play AC it's because I like the quite way of killing. I really do not understand why someone decided that it's impossible to board the legendary ships or even own them. It would be just fun.
I just managed to do it. As they always pass on the right side of the boat I've decided to enter the battle from their left side. It worked. But the time I killed the crew the other ship went away and I had to battle it the "normal" way.
I did it and for some reason the royale sovereign kept on spawning in without people on it so I just kept on destroying it getting 10000 reales everytime

Can anyone explain why I can't go very fast during the battle but the other boats can? They turn on a fucking dime and catch up to me like I'm sitting still and that's what keeps getting me killed. There’s a weirdly shaped invisible wall which prevents you from climbing aboard, so the only way I could do it was to go higher and get on that way. This is also why I look like i’m floating when i’m on the ship.
Johnny Chams I'm pretty sure that Ubisoft were not expecting people to do this, so I guess that they didn't bother to render the full detail of the ship, just the general shape of it.
I'm just using these two as a money farm because I kill 1 ship which is easy loot it and die. I did that for like a million times and I made a lot of money

It's actually so the sails don't catch wind. So the ship dies tip overboard while your on anchor.

i timed the ships for me and it took 16 minutes and 42 seconds.

This never works for me. Ever. They just list lazily away.
I have exactly the same. In fact, if I play AC it's because I like the quite way of killing. I really do not understand why someone decided that it's impossible to board the legendary ships or even own them. It would be just fun.
I just managed to do it. As they always pass on the right side of the boat I've decided to enter the battle from their left side. It worked. But the time I killed the crew the other ship went away and I had to battle it the "normal" way.

I did it and for some reason the royale sovereign kept on spawning in without people on it so I just kept on destroying it getting 10000 reales everytime

Can anyone explain why I can't go very fast during the battle but the other boats can? They turn on a fucking dime and catch up to me like I'm sitting still and that's what keeps getting me killed. If someone could spell it out for me and/or send me a video WITHOUT the letting go of the wheel glitch that would be great!

Liam Ahlqvist Damn, you figured it out. But yea I'm quite bad at ac4 but I enjoy it regardless, I beat the game first before I did any of the legendary ships.

I dont understand why tou cant just board the ship when your in the ocean
There’s a weirdly shaped invisible wall which prevents you from climbing aboard, so the only way I could do it was to go higher and get on that way. This is also why I look like i’m floating when i’m on the ship.

Johnny Chams I'm pretty sure that Ubisoft were not expecting people to do this, so I guess that they didn't bother to render the full detail of the ship, just the general shape of it.
I'm just using these two as a money farm because I kill 1 ship which is easy loot it and die. I did that for like a million times and I made a lot of money
