If you're still playing this, or replay it at some point, the ram charge is best used at a very shallow angle - the last thing you want to do after firing explosive shot and ramming is sit there, nose facing their broadside, and trying to turn with no forward momentum. It's a good way to get thrashed by the enemy heavy shot. Looking at the burning oil strategy, I'd strike from the rear with explosive shot, ram the side just ahead of the back, fire off a heavy shot broadside as you pass, then drop the burning oil down their throats once you're in front. You won't get quite as much damage from the ramming, but the heavy shot more than makes up for it, and if you hit shallowly enough you'll maintain most of your speed and be past them before they can get their broadside off. Even without the burning oil it's an extremely good tactic - I was taking down lower level man o' wars with it using less than 50% upgrade completion.
AMUHRICA BALL your fleet depends on what you recruit. my fleet has man of wars. when you destroy an enemy ship, send it to the fleet and sell your little gunboats

Gamers Ftw if you send to cormacs fleet it’s like it ac black flag but it’s a navel campaign where you send your ships off around the world and get rewards for it
Cormacs fleet never physically appears, its like a game within a game, gameception! Also I'm answering this 4 years later so I'm pretty sure you figured it out.
Says “We got friends we’re good to go” Me thinking back on this battle “Are you sure about that?” Tip: Captain’s cabin is weakest point on legendary Man o’ War’s, just like black flag
Hi Gatsby, I was one of the testers that helped develop the legendary ship battles. I really hope you enjoyed this feature of the game as I was proud of it when it happened. I think we can declass some information and if you are interested, you can try finding this guy (Taking out on this guy) name Chris Nonis, Sadia and many others in the credits who actually made the legendary ships happen for Rogue. Can you imagine Storm fortress, where the battle of Quiberon, Icebergs etc. what you went through in the earlier battles was realized in the final battle for storm fortress? That was our vision, unfortunately the memory of the hardware didn't hold and it just died on the XBOX 360 and PS3 due to the memory consumption of the assets. One day... One day I hope to realize that vision... Otherwise this was the closest we got. I also want to give a shoutout to Chris for taking my suggestion for fireships in the early stages of the development of the battle of Quiberon. I as a tester was just showcasing how easy it was to defeat a man o war using the ram function and casually just mentioned that we needed a deterrent on just using that, for example, fireships. He took that to heart and made it real. (Mind you I was just a tester). This brings back memories and I thought it be fair to give you some of the sweat and tears I saw in the development of the legendary battles, to which I am still proud of this day of making people feel accomplished for completing it, but also knowing that it actually could be even more. Cheers, Dan
Thanks for the storm fortress burning idea it was really useful mixing it with he close range cannons and mortar strategy I beat the 3 ships in the end :D
"Hold on is this a two v one?" "Are these the twins from black flag? Alright fine, the twins from black flag are back they are pissed they want revenge they unsunk their ships." That had me cracking up
+Rusty Needls My strategy for taking down bigger ships, legendary included, in Black Flag and Rogue, was to use the front cannons, ram them, then as you're turning away, use heavyshot or broadside, then, as your sailing away, drop fire barrels or burning oil directly on them.
I just used the Immortal cheat but don't worry, it's able to save after cheats after turned off, and will also save what data wasn't able to be saved when cheats were on, too. I've tried already.
After the hype about the epic legendary ship battle, I was sort of expecting a giant ship that fired lasers at you while the captain played an electric guitar while riding a T-rex
Oh and another tip, fire barrels are a fucking God send in this battle. If any of the ships start chasing you down, trying to ram you from the back of your ship, use fire barrels immediately. Especially on the main ship, it takes off HUGE amounts of health from him, even more than mortars.
several years late but would like to point out burning oil does a lot of damage over time to the storm fortress just sit at the front of it and endure the front shots which don't do to much damage compared to the broadsides
I did Q.Bay and Labrador on my first attempt without having everything elite and the Pirates and Storm Fortress took me 40m each,4th attempt for both, max ship
Basically it only says " legendary ", but the actual wheel, sails and figurehead is named Kraken. Easy to check, just read the description of Kraken Figurehead. It says it belonged to Storm Fortress - same ship from the Epic Legendary Battle.
on the epic battle the storm fortress actually attacks the two new man o war ships did you know that... so you couldve (when that part occurred) run to a distance dbd let the ships fight eachother.
I barely have enough health to take on the storm fortress and even then I average like 1 out of every 10 fights. When the other 2 ships come in, I'm usually flashing red. So hard 😫
My mind is still pondering how the storm fortress can shoot heavy shot at 500 m also if they know how dangerous the storm fortresses were they give us a little more than just a few brigs and a frigate like either more ships or more powerful ships and also if you inspect the storm fortress you can see to level 99 Manowar and then will it get a lower brings two level 75 ship like the what
If u ask me Rogue has the better equipment, ship, and ocationaly the better attire... except for that armor in black flag that deflects musket shots... or was that 3?..🤔
They should make another sea based AC game and this time give us just a gunboat and make even larger legendary vessels. As it has gone thus far: Aquila - pretty large brig, Jackdaw - a slightly smaller brig, morrigan - a large schooner. I demand a gunboat! With a 6 -member crew and only 4 cannons!
***** the jackdaw is a brig... They call it a brig in the game and in the books and in assassin's creed wiki. However when it's upgraded it doesn't really have a class because it can do the job of any type of ship.
TheMaster1 Naval RUINS Ac not completely but the whole point is to assassinate people not buy man o wars and switch ships n' shit I think naval is ok but i prefer the ACTUAL GAME
Personally, I think having a man-o-war would be awesome, but the camera space? Not so much. Now, unless they push it out more, that'd make it better but still. At the same time, if I could buy ships to follow me on sea until they're destroyed (while also being able to be repaired with defeated ships and when at a port).
black flag:ship vs ship

Gamers Ftw if you send to cormacs fleet it’s like it ac black flag but it’s a navel campaign where you send your ships off around the world and get rewards for it
Cormacs fleet never physically appears, its like a game within a game, gameception! Also I'm answering this 4 years later so I'm pretty sure you figured it out.
I have the most trouble with the twin man-o-wars. Figures if you use fire barrels, the battle is half over when used properly. Noice job, dude!
I used the ram charge thing during the epic legendary battle to get out of range and it worked realy good
Legendary battles in Black Flag looked much harder. Then again, I took on and beat them all with only half-upgraded ship.
I feel that too
Says “We got friends we’re good to go”
Me thinking back on this battle “Are you sure about that?”
Tip: Captain’s cabin is weakest point on legendary Man o’ War’s, just like black flag
Nice video jerz :) keep going man
Never once in my experience gaming, did I depressingly scream “no” like I did on the last ship battle.
xD
Cheers,
Dan
Thanks for the storm fortress burning idea it was really useful mixing it with he close range cannons and mortar strategy I beat the 3 ships in the end :D
I've beaten all of the legendary battles, got the rewards. But when I go to the abstergo challenges, it says 0/2 legendary battles done.
18:27 “Aye sir, she does seem rather upset” **Explosion**
You don't get Legendary stuff for your ship it's the Kraken stuff
"Hold on is this a two v one?"
"Are these the twins from black flag? Alright fine, the twins from black flag are back they are pissed they want revenge they unsunk their ships."
That had me cracking up
All of these battles would have went smother if you used your brace
Rusty Needls I enjoyed the challenge.
***** yeah, it's just you wouldn't have almost died in every battle if you braced a little bit
+Rusty Needls My strategy for taking down bigger ships, legendary included, in Black Flag and Rogue, was to use the front cannons, ram them, then as you're turning away, use heavyshot or broadside, then, as your sailing away, drop fire barrels or burning oil directly on them.
I tried, but still the same!
You need to brace, it reduces damage alot.
cashmachine15 no problem.
Oh and another tip, fire barrels are a fucking God send in this battle. If any of the ships start chasing you down, trying to ram you from the back of your ship, use fire barrels immediately. Especially on the main ship, it takes off HUGE amounts of health from him, even more than mortars.
There is no fire barrels on Morrigan. She has burning oil.
well, i know this much. in 'black flag' you just had to stay behind the enemy ship ;)
and from there it's turning tactics.
several years late but would like to point out burning oil does a lot of damage over time to the storm fortress just sit at the front of it and endure the front shots which don't do to much damage compared to the broadsides
When I was starting on the first legendary, I was hoping that fully upgrading the ship would be harder than the legendries.... God I was wrong
At 8:53 I just find that statement funny “they got these baby ships that want to battle you”
I did Q.Bay and Labrador on my first attempt without having everything elite and the Pirates and Storm Fortress took me 40m each,4th attempt for both, max ship
Basically it only says " legendary ", but the actual wheel, sails and figurehead is named Kraken. Easy to check, just read the description of Kraken Figurehead. It says it belonged to Storm Fortress - same ship from the Epic Legendary Battle.
while im playing assassin's creed rogue i use ice berg for defence / shield while in legendary battle
i like how the brig rams the morrigan when the battle is over 19:13
also this
and this is us..
*that's not us..*
on the epic battle the storm fortress actually attacks the two new man o war ships did you know that... so you couldve (when that part occurred) run to a distance dbd let the ships fight eachother.
I barely have enough health to take on the storm fortress and even then I average like 1 out of every 10 fights. When the other 2 ships come in, I'm usually flashing red. So hard 😫
2 Ships facing off The Storm Fortress
20:47: And this is us!
The Storm Fortress fires mortars and kills them
20:50: And this is not us!
My mind is still pondering how the storm
fortress can shoot heavy shot at 500 m also if they know how dangerous the storm fortresses were they give us a little more than just a few brigs and a frigate like either more ships or more powerful ships and also if you inspect the storm fortress you can see to level 99 Manowar and then will it get a lower brings two level 75 ship like the what
The first three battles were easy for me,but the last one was a Fucker but did get it in the end lol well done mate no easy task
This is an old video, but damn it gives me nostalgia and shivers everytime I see these Legendary Ship Battles!
Don't worry I still play that game
Ironic how he sais: "Where is your god now" while playing as a templar. I dont think he understands how this works...
Dude, beating the Storm Fortress took 3 days for me! I should've get the elite upgrades first. You did great too.
Thanks!
@@Jerz always welcome bro.
There should have been more of this in AC3!
As far as changing my outfit, I only need to change my doors. Holy crap I still have to do what you just did. Great job to you, and wish me luck❤😂
If u ask me Rogue has the better equipment, ship, and ocationaly the better attire... except for that armor in black flag that deflects musket shots... or was that 3?..🤔
Creaper 137 Mayan armour, it was in black flag😀
Black flag had the armor. 3 had the ring(shard of eden)
Dude i remember how happy i was to unlock the Mayan Armor.
I like how legendary ships are like a mission here so you cant board their ship. 😂😂😂
Kraken figure head you get elite sails and kraken wheel
Looks like ship v ship battles have been improved from Black Flag. The fire barrels actually do damage to the ships in Rogue.
I'm almost ready to beat the legendary ship
Good luck!
Those little rapid fire cannons are so ridiculous I can't help but lmao at them. 6:12
the storm fortress was hard, but I did it jerz!
+Kaiden Montero Montero Awesome! :) How did you go about taking them down?
I did it on my first try.
Love your videos
so assasinc reed rogue is more about templar? ..... so do we say the assasins are bad guys?
+Mr Cleveland Brown You should try the game, it has an amazing storyline. :)
I'm new to assasin creed. And I started out rogue. Is it okay ?
And I already finish the game. That last part where Arno dad died . now I have to play unity
Zoltán Pókász thanks for reading my comment roflmao
+Zoltán Pókász why do you read it lol
cool beans bro, I dig that shit, you are now officially a legend!!!
... this Battle looks like the worlds First Naval Battle ;-;
6 years later and this legends is still hearting comments
Shay commanding to fire: Noice and easy, mates. We got this.
Edward commanding to fire: SINK ALL THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS!
Actually, the Jackdaw is a Brig, while the Morrigan is a English Brigitine, not a "large schooner".
+Alpha Black A frigate is a 3 masted ship. The Jackdaw has two masts.
TheMaster1 Naval RUINS Ac not completely but the whole point is to assassinate people not buy man o wars and switch ships n' shit I think naval is ok but i prefer the ACTUAL GAME
TheMaster1 Aquila is a frigate
Personally, I think having a man-o-war would be awesome, but the camera space? Not so much. Now, unless they push it out more, that'd make it better but still. At the same time, if I could buy ships to follow me on sea until they're destroyed (while also being able to be repaired with defeated ships and when at a port).
Rogue is the same as assasins creed black flag
I mean, it's a "sequel" to Black Flag.
Stom fortress tho was insane
Never played this but it seems like assasins creed 4 but winter time lol
Black flag is in the Caribbean, rouge is in the North Atlantic
+Sergei Rachmaninov you think it's worth getting or am i buying asassins creed 4.5
+Isaak tracy both of them are great open world games ( I personally preferred black flag) so I would definitely recommend them both
+Isaak tracy Nope it is better even than AS4 :)
+Niokolay Dimitrov I meant AC4 :)
the ship battles are so cool
