  • Im changing the hydrostatic drive motor fluid in my Bobcat T66. On the R series Bobcat this maintenance is done every 500 hours or every 12 months. This service and fluid is the same for Bobcat Track Loaders T450, T550, T590, T595, T650, T62, T64, T66, & T76.

    Thanks for doing this video.
On my 2015 T650 the book says to put in 12.7 OZ. per side.
So I'll be getting 3 bottles.
Bobcat West cost is $15.17 per. this is in WA state.

Bobcat is notorious for hiding what kinds of fluids they use. Even the older Bobs like mine recommended a special hydraulic oil that is massively overpriced. I use the regular 68 hydraulic oil for the old Bobs and never had a problem. Wonder what kind of special sauce is in that oil you put in.

I know a few guys running Hydro fluid from Napa and no issues either. I just get nervous with a new machine. But it's most likely a standard oil, maybe they put in an extra additive but who really knows.

Better safe than sorry. I have always had old broken equipment so being cheap is a must. You use yours to make money and don't want to destroy it by putting the wrong parts or supplies in it.

I've got the T76. The manual says to let the entire contents of the bottle into the drive motor. My dealer swears that it is supposed to be half (6 ounces) in one motor and half in the other. Based on your video, it surely looks like there is more than 6 ounces that came out of there and I would not interpret empty the entire contents of one bottle into the drive motor as put half in one motor and the other half in the other. I think they are wrong, but I cannot seem to find the definitive answer. Do you know the size in ounces of the jar you used to collect the old oil?

I have about 400 hours on it. The only issues I've had is the camera and radio stop working randomly. If you turn it off and on they come back. Its still under warranty so I just need to bring it to the dealer. I would say if your going to be lifting heavy often then you might want to go bigger. It will lift 3500 lbs but it doesn't like it very much. Also the track design holds a lot of mud and is hard to clean. Other then that it's a good machine.
