Alternatively, give the other Kanto starters to Tierno and Trevor as they did in the anime, just so that all of the rivals can have a starter each. Tierno could have his know at least one dancing move (regardless of practicality), and Trevor could fit for completionism.
I went with pokemon that are capable of some kind of dance move. Talonflame can learn feather dance, Roserade petal dance, Spinda teeter dance, Ludicolo rain dance, Flygon dragon dance, and Mega Heracross can learn swords dance plus it would look cool as a break dancer like his Blastoise in the anime.
GameFreak really had a missed opportunity not giving Trevor the more uncommon Pokemon you can find on the early routes... If the dude is REALLY trying to complete the Pokedex, you'd expect him to have found some of the rare encounters more often (like Dunsparce or Farfetch'd).
Depending on were and when certian mons are available, you could give him a rotating team, with weaker members like dunsparce and farfetchd early, but stronger mons like aerodactyl later. Experimenting with breeding and unorthodox evo methods broadens his pool of choices even further.
I went with something different. Raichu, Wormadam (Trash Cloak), Florges, Sawsbuck, Vivillon, and Mega Aerodactyl. Since Trevor's whole thing is about filling the pokedex, I felt like he would catch pokemon known for form differences. His mega evolution is Aerodactyl because he has it both game and anime.
I really like the detail of Calem/Serena and Tierno trading pokemon, makes the friend group feel a whole lot more connected than it just being two duos that the protagonist happens to connect.
Personally, I think Calem and Serena should get the fossil pokemon that we don't choose, since in the base game they already have the item in their possession but never revive it
this is a good concept but diantha and grant cover the entire line, and imo gym leaders and important trainers should try not to overlap mons, esp w a champion having highlighted Pokémon. The idea of having another mon from kalos to cover the weaknesses of the starter is perfect, especially since it highlights some more forgettable Pokémon like gogoat and clawitzer
I think Trevor should have a 6 pokémon team, because he wants to complete the pokédex, and owning a lot of pokémon makes sense, but in low level, because he's not that interested on being strong (like a pokémon breeder, a large number of pokémon, but weak).
yeeee I can see trevor only keeping a kanto starter thats, probably weak against the one you pick? but otherwise swapping out his team for those in the areas prior to battling him! and having a full team of 6 by the end, though low leveled since someone did point out that battling isn't his priority!
Honestly why they never got more pokemon is so annoying looking back on it. Each could have gotten mons that show off their personalities in the base game to give you their growth and stories through their mons. Dancing mons. Fashion etc. Some good teams can come from it. Make the game more balanced
Nuzzle for Trevor's Raichu in the last battle really makes sense, especially considering that Trevor as a Pokédex trainer would be catching a lot of Pokémon, and easy paralysis can help with catching!
They missed an opportunity to just see them more throughout the story as other players. Like, we go through Santalune Forest together, but I don’t remember otherwise feeling like I’m playing with friends with their own games. A larger overhaul would be ensuring more times seeing them as a group and more smaller battles. One thing I thought of was giving Trevor inkay and letting him be frustrated by it not evolving. Then Shauna has it in a fight, as they just traded it. Then later, at like a hotel, you find them all hanging out. It would be a custom pose, but I think it would be cool if Shauna is lying on the bed with her head off the edge and looking at everyone upside down. She can comment that she likes helping Trevor, and he can comment that Shauna somehow triggered an evolution. Then Trevor has a malamar in the next fight. Let it be a minor hint to its evolution. Bonus: if Shauna gets a pancham, then afterward she can have a pangoro.
I would personally give Trevor Accelgor or Escavalier depending on the game version, just because they have the same chance and are counterparts. Although, I think you made a great work!!! I wish this chanel have more subscribers because I really appreciate the work and research this videos need to be that good. Congrats!
Having the bridge fights serve as a mini Elite 4 gave me a nasty idea. They also get all 8 badges, and you fight all your rivals alongside the Elite 4. You still choose the order you fight the E4 in, but after you beat one you battle Shauna, then choose your second E4, then battle Tierno, then choose a third E4, then Trevor. After your final E4, you battle Calem/Serena before the champion. It would be evil, but a gautlet of 9 trainers would be epic.
I'm pretty sure trainers has to take turns fighting the elite 4. If not then the elite 4 and champion will have to find a way to quickly heal their Pokemon before the next trainer 3 seconds later. Although, it would still be cool.
@@Megamank-ns3yy Well, look at Black and White. You beat the Elite 4 and moments before you walk up to the champion he loses to N, and about a minute later Cheren shows up. I would assume they’re both just fighting the Elite 4 in a (conveniently) slightly different order. While I’m fighting Shauntal second Cheren is fighting Marshal and N is having his third battle with Grimsley. If I walk into Caitlin’s room while Cheren is battling her I would be told to wait my turn. The only reason that never happens is because we never find out the order N and Cheren fight the Elite 4. I’m less familiar with Ultra Sun/Moon but I think its a similar situation with Hau. I have less evidence for this next bit, but I also think it would be very rare that multiple trainers would be taking on the Pokémon League at the same time. If 10+ challengers a day maybe they would have a rule against it, but they more likely have a few a week. They probably just say “huh, its more busy than usual”. I would also think it would be annoying to hear “sorry, you gotta wait for this guy to battle potentially 5 trainers”, its probably “just wait your turn for individual members”. Sorry for writing a thesis. I just thought of an example and kept going.
@@jasonmaggard6674 That's actually implied in BW. When you first fight Grimsley in the E4, he asks what's going on with all these challengers coming in.
You should have given Trevor the Mewtwo he can tell you that he caught. Jokes aside, I'm surprised GameFreak didn't give all of the rivals a theme, since there's an easy fit for all of them. Tierno uses various dancing moves, Trevor uses Pokémon that were artificially created (befitting his interest in science), and Shauna can use Pokémon that take a lot of time to raise before they get strong (befitting her goal of just having fun memories; imagine if she could even use Pokémon Amie mechanics to her benefit). Since Calem/Serena would just be the usual multitype Rival, I kinda like the idea of doing something fun and having them with a Pokémon that reps each Generation since they'll have six Pokémon and this is Generation 6. So (Kalos Starter w/ Type Advantage), (Kanto Starter w/ Same Type), Absol, Mamoswine, Heracross, and Eelektross is a random team I came up with off the top of my head.
The Kalos Friends as Characters are done WAAAY better in anime & manga. And that’s something as I do think Trevor could use a bit more work in the anime
12:19 I assume, in-universe TMs are accessible in more ways that picking one from the ground at that one location - I mean, that would mean player is the only person able to use them xD Calem/Serena could grab/receive their Shadow Ball TM earlier. so it wasn't accessible when you approached that area and that's why you must to wait for yours later.
I want some big changes. Agree with the second rival fight -Tierno has the kanto starter weak to the one you choose. Has a rotation of Talonflame, Roserade, Crawdaunt based on the unchosen starter. Adds QD Masquerien and DD Haxours as two extra members. Rematch has mega Kanto starter+ Mr. Mime -Trevor has the Kanto starter SE vs yours with a rotation of Vileplume, Chandelure, and Floatzel. Has Florges and Raichu as additional members. Rematch has mega starter alongside Rhyperiror -Shauna has Sylveon/Kangashan/Goodra alongside started with an additional member to support it Chesnaught+Quagsire, Delphox+Jumpluff, or Greninja+Magcargo. Rematch adds the one weak to starter and mega Kanga -Serenea gets the fossil you didn't choose added to her team alongside starters, Meowstic, and Absol. Use 2 of the following based on the missing starter types: Gourgeist, Pyroar, Barbaracle.
I wish Shauna was more like Bianca in terms of being a rival, she's less competitive compared to Calem/Serena, but still a competent trainer. As many here already pointed out, it feels like such a wasted opportunity that these 2 don't use certain Pokemon avaliable through the game, so here are my dream teams for both of them in the final, post-game battle. Shauna: Furfrou Goodra Dedenne Froslass Kalos starter weak to yours Kanto starter weak to yours that mega evolves Calem/Serena: Fossil you didn't pick Aegislash Heliolisk Clefable Kalos starter strong against yours Kanto starter strong against yours that mega evolves
Same. I even gave her a full team and a mega pokemon. Chesnaught, Slyveon, Goodra, Venusaur, Gothitelle, and Mega Ampharos. Chespin and Bulbasaur are the starters that fit Shauna the most. Gothitelle reminds me of her shirt. Goodra and Slyveon are cute, strong pokemon she'd have. Mega Ampharos is perfect for styling.
Should’ve gave tierno accelgor so it alludes to that Trevor and him traded to make the friendship between the rivals more believable like when Shauna gives you a starter
I’ve always like the idea of Treavor and Tierno having the other two Kanto starters. It’s more in line with their anime counter parts, and it just makes them better overall since starter Pokémon are typically just stronger than most other pokemon, and it would make it so every rival has a starter of their own.
23:00 I'm not the best at balancing, but I think giving Raichu an Air balloon would be really interesting, it would punish those who just see an electric type and spam ground moves. Imagine you playing normally, frenetically pressing A to skip the filler text, select earthquake on Raichu only to not have effect cuz you didn't realize it had an air balloon, now it's nasty plot buffed and you still have to pop it's item, not the best situation lol
I feel like you missed oppertunity by not giving Shauna,Tierno and Trevor their battle maison pokemon. In the Multi partner mode of the battle maison, each of the three get exclusive pokemon you dont see in the main game : Shauna: Sylveon Tierno: Hawlucha Trevor: Tyrantrum and Aurorus
I like what you did here - it’s pretty creative. I’m pretty sure characters having only a couple of moves is meant to influence which moves they use, since the AI is dumb about spamming status moves and buffs. Like if Tierno’s Roserade just spams Venom Drench on invalid targets the whole time, you might never see it use Petal Dance, which is the whole point of him having one.
Yeah I understand to a certain extent with petal dance that it’s just meant to spam a high damaging move, but then there are some others that go against that line of thinking like altaria randomly having confide, it’s just a collection of highly inconsistent decisions in my opinion
Pretty sure the reason Tierno's Roserade only knows Petal Dance is because Tierno is obsessed with dancing... So they only wanted it to spam that one move. Terrible for difficulty, but is oddly fitting for Tierno's character. If you notice, the other two have Swords Dance, which the opponent AI would likely prioritize as its a setup move... Problem is, Roserade is a special attacker, and Petal Dance is a special attacking move. They couldn't give it a move like Swords Dance to make sure it goes for the dancing move at least once in the battle.
Fixing the Kalos Rivals. Done. Shauna Trevor Tierno combined into one. Give us a Rival that loves to dance, and takes videos of cool dance moves with their pokemon. A rival that loves to live in the moment and enjoy every second and captures memories of to remember the times. Seriously. Lysandre wants people to live forever, so a Rival that actually wants to age and grow but still enjoying their current moments? Perfect foil no? Whats the point of living forever if you cant 1. Growing up (shauna) 2. Enjoying the moment (Tierno) 3. Capturing it as a memento (Tevor) ...
@OKreations if you want maybe you could do a new version, like, right now im playing Pokemon Eternal X, its pokemon x game but with some changes to increase difficult! Again a loved your changes your kanto changes was also perfect!
Only suggestion I can think of is giving Absol its Mega Evolution during the main story. There's no reason your rival shouldn't Mega Evolve something before the League.
Here is how I would lay out the battles: 1) Shauna's first battle with Weaker Kalos Starter stays the same. 2) Tierno's first battle should be replaced by a Calem/Serena battle with Fletchling/Stronger Kalos Starter on Route 4. Note: Since Shauna and Calem/Serena never use the Kanto Starters the Professor gives them, Professor Sycamore should instead give them to Trevor and Tierno since they WORK FOR HIM! 3) Add a Shauna Battle between Parfum Palace and the Snorlax [maybe place it in the Berry Fields since so many people miss that place entirely] • She could use Skitty/Honedge/Weaker Kalos Starter. • The Honedge would be underleveled, being caught right outside Parfum Palace in Route 6. 4) Multibattle with Trevor & Tierno is moved to Ambrette Town: • Calem/Serena has Absol/Fletchling/Stronger Kalos Starter • Trevor has Pikachu/Flabébé/Stronger Kanto Starter • Tierno has Espurr/Corphish/Weaker Kanto Starter • 6 Pokémon is a lot, but by this point you probably have a full team [or at least more than three mons], and Calem/Serena will have 3 leading with Absol who is a powerhouse. • After this battle, Tierno and Calem/Serena do the trade so Espurr is Calem/Serena's for the Grunt Multibattle in Glittering Cave (like in the games) 5) Calem/Serena's Tower of Mastery Battle should be Meowstic/Eevee/Absol/Stronger Kalos Starter 6) I agree with changing the Coumarine battle to Shauna, and I feel like she would have Delcatty/Eevee/Doublade/Weaker Kalos Starter. This is the Honedge from Route 6 leveled up and the Eevee that becomes her Sylveon in her Battle Maison Multibattle. 7) For Route 14, I would make it a Multibattle where Trevor asks to join in the battle to see if he can beat you in that since you're beating him in the Pokédex, so Tierno fights with you as he and Shauna arrive. • Tierno would have his Fletchinder/Crawdaunt/Weaker Kanto Starter. • Calem/Serena would apologize to Absol for needing it to sit out and have Meowstic/Gen 1 Eeveelution/Stronger Kalos Starter. • Trevor would have Raichu/Floette/Stronger Kanto Starter. • If not already on the field, Tierno would probably be programmed to switch to his starter when Trevor sends his out. Note: In the Multibattle against Celosia and Bryony, Calem/Serena would bring Absol/Gen 1 Eeveelution/Stronger Kalos Starter. So Meowstic sits out for that instead of Absol. Note: I would switch out Trevor for Tierno & Shauna for the Frost Cavern. Tierno gets lost in the cavern, and I'd have Shauna help in a Multibattle against Mable and a grunt using Sliggoo/Sylveon/Weaker Kalos Starter. 8) I would add a Multibattle between Dendemille Town and Route 17 where Tierno and Shauna challenge you, and Trevor assists you as he is arriving. • Trevor assists you using Aerodactyl/Floette/Stronger Kanto Starter. • Tierno has Talonflame/Bergmite/Weaker Kanto Starter. • Shauna has Sliggoo/Sylveon/Weaker Kalos Starter. 9) Anistar City battle with Calem/Serena that is the same Meowstic/Absol/Eeveelution/Stronger Kalos Starter that you said. Note: For the Multibattle against the Admins in the Team Flare place Calem/Serena would use all four of Meowstic/Absol/Eeveelution/Stronger Kalos Starter. 10) Route 19, we start off with the Shauna fight. Since this is her last fight and it is so close to Victory Road, she will have all 5 of her Pokémon for this fight... Being Delcatty/Doublade (still unevolved)/Sylveon/Goodra/Weaker Kalos Starter. 11) Shauna would then heal both of your Pokémon in preparation, because just like they have for the entire game, Trevor and Tierno would want to do a Multibattle. Tierno not really the competitive type, but wanting to prepare you for the Ice Gym using the Avalugg he caught as a Bergmite in Frost Cavern, and Trevor informing you that he is considering taking an internship at the fossil research lab, after spending time there to get an Amaura with its Hidden Ability, Snow Warning, because he wanted a Hidden Ability Pokémon like Tierno’s Gale Wings Talonflame. [Note: This is because Trevor uses Aurorus & Tyrantrum in the Battle Maison.] • Shauna assists you using Doublade/Sylveon/Goodra/Weaker Kalos Starter. • Trevor uses Aurorus (Snow Warning)/Aerodactyl/Florges/Stronger Kanto Starter • Tierno uses Avalugg/Crawdaunt/Talonflame (Gale Wings)/Weaker Kanto Starter • This feels OP now with Snow instead of Hail that the Defense boost that didn't exist yet. It's fine. 12) THE VICTORY ROAD FIGHT! Okay, we have Calem/Serena, obviously they have their four Pokémon from the rest of the story but they need TWO more. The fact that they only have two Kalos mons is criminal, so despite the fact Altaria is one of my favorite Pokémon… It didn't have a Mega yet so that slot would be better with a Noivern. Noivern is also a bonus since they could catch Noibat in Victory Road. Finally, I thought it’d be interesting if Calem/Serena would have a new Pokémon to Mega evolve in the future… And while Sableye from the Reflection Cave [so close to the Tower of Mastery] is tempting… Their Post-Game team has Clefable, which is a Fairy-Type to round out their team, so I think Calem/Serena would backtrack to Glimmering Cave to get a Mawile. • This means their Victory Road team is Meowstic/Noivern/Mawile/Eeveelution/Stronger Kalos Starter/MEGA Absol. So the battle totals become: • Calem/Serena - 5 (+4 Assists) • Shauna - 5 (+2 Assist) • Trevor - 3 (+1 Assist, All Multibattles) • Tierno - 3 (+1 Assist, All Multibattles) In the Post-Game we should be able to rematch all four Friends/Rivals. 13) First up would be Shauna. After she trades you the level 5 starter she would wait in Aquacorde Town to battle you at the exact same place as your first battle. Since I already have her normal three Pokémon plus the Sylveon that joins her Goodra in the Battle Maison and the Doublade that was a Honedge by the place she obviously fell in love with you… She needs her final Pokémon. Since she bred her starter, unless it was 100% Female for her, she would have needed to go to the Pokémon Village for a Ditto… And Gothorita is there, which is important to note, because her outfit is Gothitelle inspired. I also believe that she might also catch a Furfrou that she puts on the team to battle you with instead of her Delcatty since “it doesn't want to battle you anymore” • Shauna’s Post-Game Team is Furfrou/Gothitelle/Aegislash/Sylveon/Weaker Kalos Starter/Goodra. 14) Tierno would be an optional Post-Game Rematch in Lumiose City. He would be in Professor Sycamore’s lab because he has settled down a little in Lumiose, helping Sycamore get Lumiose back on its feet after the biggest businessman in the city tried to do a genocide. And he would also split time since he joined a dance team. He would have his original Route 19 battle’s Roserade and his Battle Maison Hawlucha to round out his team. • Tierno’s Post-Game Team is Hawlucha/Roserade/Avalugg/Crawdaunt/Talonflame/MEGA Weaker Kanto Starter. • NOTE: Hawlucha and Roserade like to dance together on the surface that is Avalugg’s back. 15) Trevor would be an optional Post-Game Rematch outside the Fossil Research Lab, unlocked after Tierno. Trevor is interning there for a few months, and as a parting gift, Sycamore gave him a Mega Ring just like he gave to Tierno after his journey. Trevor would just bring back Raichu and add the Tyrantrum from the Battle Maison. Since this battle would be unlocked AFTER beating Tierno, the player would expect MEGA Stronger Kanto Starter, but Trevor would use MEGA Aerodactyl. • Trevor’s Post-Game Team is Raichu/Tyrantrum/Aurorus (Snow Warning)/Florges/Stronger Kanto Starter/MEGA Aerodactyl. 16) Finally, the Calem/Serena Post-Game battle is where it always is. Same team as before but Mawile is the Mega instead of Absol. • Calem/Serena’s Post-Game Team is Meowstic/Noivern/Eeveelution/Absol/Stronger Kalos Starter/MEGA Mawile.
While i understand the reason why you gave Tierno a Budew with Rain Dance for the double battle, it actually doesn't work because Rain Dance isn't considered a dance move, in japanese it translate to Rain Prayer and as such doesn't get copied by Dancer (rip Tierno you would have loved Oricorio). Considering this and the fact you can find Roselia in the same route where the double battle takes place, i would give Tierno a Roselia as his second Pokémon to take advantage and synergize with Trevor's Flabébé's Flower Veil
I once theory crafted a custom Gym Leader (for a ROMhack or RPGMaker game I never got around to) with a dancing theme, around Gen 4 times, that included Rain Dance on all the teams' movesets. But it worked there because she was a Water type specialist rain priestess. Any water type with obscure access to dancing moves was fair game. Event Petal Dance Psyduck, breading FeatherDance Piplup, and Swords Dance Ludicolo as her ace (since Teeter Dance wasn't a viable option at the time). (Maybe also a Totodile or Corphish with Dragon Dance, but I'm going off memory and it was only the 2nd Gym for this team. Would also have a full post-game team to consider. Though, unless the Totodile knew Waterfall, there'd have been no STAB moves to take advantage of the Atk boost, so maybe it was a team of 4? Yeah, think the non-ace Pokemon were only level 15 to avoid Piplup being evo level, so it was a larger team at lower levels. Didn't want another Gardenia's over leveled Turtwig situation and the 3rd Gym was Double Battle Gym Leaders, that would have 4 total team members anyway.) I do remember that there was a cave mini dungeon where you needed to go find that Water Gym Leader practicing her ceremonial dance routine with her Pokemon team before being able to fight her in her Gym. Said cave would have a a lot of waterways and a constant rain effect from all the time she spent in there to avoid giving her home city more rain than it needed. Obviously, it'd have been called Rainy Cave, in true Pokemon naming style.
I know that Calem and Serena get a once per day rematch in Kiloude City; I would've liked to see you take a crack at that team, as well as make post-game all-out rematches for everyone! But other than that, great job! Totally agree with you giving Shauna one of Calem/Serena's fights, and I love what you did with the teams in general.
I’m thinking I’d swap the Altaria for an Accelgor. I know it’s a weaker pick, but Trevor had to get his Escavalier via trade with someone. Also, your video has given me a newfound appreciation for Trevor, I never realized his team was exclusively filled with hard to obtain Pokémon. Heck, I didn’t even remember the kid’s name until you said it.
Great to see a new video from you and I love what you did with these teams. I haven't played X/Y for a hot minute (I do plan on revisiting them again soon) but I remember outside of Serena, the other rivals never really stood out so I think what you did here would really help allow them to make more of an impact. So, good job! Also, your comedy remains 👌 definitely had me laughing a few times in this video.
I believe Calem and Serena should get to mega evolve their Absol, other than that I think you did a really good job. I would personally try to add more gen 6 pokemon to each team but I don’t feel like doing it now on the spot
Calum was given Shadow Ball as a TM by someone who was passing by coming the other way through the cave and thought he needed to have a bit of coverage on his team. Then Calum told the generous stranger that the player wouldn't want it and not to bother, so they dropped it in the cave.
Route 19 Shauna has a terrifying drifblim that feels like more of an ace mon than anything else like it has a phase 2 with double speed and the possibility for a special attack boost
I love how no one talked about x and y other than to complain and say that it failed and never gave ideas other than make it harder but now that legends z-a is coming out everyone is saying this is how to make it better
Interesting choices. What I would add, were Post Game Teams for each Rival. I find it sad, that you cannot rematch them after the Story, besides the main rival and even there, some of they're Pokemon have only 3 Moves.
16:18 You can also get it by using Air Cutter, Twister or Blizzard on trees during some battles in routes 8, 12 and the cities close to them. Everyone seems to forget abt that mechanic but I love bc it's so useful in my monotype nuzlockes lmao
I feel like every rival could have had a different 'theme' to their teams. The opposite gender counterpart would probably get something similar to the basic rivals of past games, as they already have, but the rest could represent different ways to play the game. At the start of the game Shauna is noted to not really understand pokémon catching, so her 'team' across the game could have very few pokémon, maybe just two starters until very late, but their levels could be slightly higher than every other trainer when you get further into the game, because she's only got two Pokémon to train up. Trevor, as the Pokédex enthusiast, could be the exact opposite. he could have a full team of 6 every time you fight him, with levels slightly lower than what you're used to, because he spends more time catching than training. Could also take the N route of having a completely different team every time you fight him. Tierno... eh... I think the theme he has is probably fine. Just need to do it better.
Really good video since in the adventure manga calum and Serena pick a Kanto starter I see no harm in adding that to their team other than that you’ve made great changes
2:00 Personally - this is Tierno's first Pokémon of unknown origin, it's great opportunity to give it bunch of Egg Moves, for additional difficulty. Aqua Jet is solid low damage Stab Physical move that he could get here. And in Gen 6 Corphish also gets Dragon Dance, which would give us some range when it comes to his dancing moves. But at the same time the TM idea is also pretty neat. 9:00 I have issue with giving Shauna the same moveset as C/S for the starter. I feel making it different would work better for replay value of the game. And the plot itself gives us opportunity to mix up those movesets as C/S do the Gym Challenge. Shalour specifically gives Power-Up Punch that could be great for pretty my much all three starters. C/S also give us HM for Surf in this area. The unfortunate Pokémon here would be Braixen as at this point there is literally no significant move it could get. As Incinerate is in Maison, Grass Knot is in Courmarine and Hidden Power is in Alistair. But just Power-Up Punch would be helpful to use next to the Flame Charge. I could also see Shauna use slightly other coverage moves from the already available moves. Quilladin gets Bite (C/S already have Absol). Braixen gets Light Screen and at 34 gets Psyshock. And Frogadier gets Smokescreen, Fling and Smack Down. All could work for Shauna who can have the new moves given by higher level she is expected to have here. 9:40 What I kinda don't like in all the generations is the need to keep Kanto Eevees together. That Jolteon easily could have been replaced by Leafeon, giving C/S that anti-starter coverage a lot of Rivals get, but keeping it in the starter typing trio. Also I would play with the same idea you did - and gave Tierno Eevee earlier on with a Rain Dance, so he could trade for the Fletchinder, which C/S could have done in the earlier fight, where you gave them Eeveelution. 11:00 Also to make it even more gross - swapping that Disarming Voice for Reflect on Meowstic would help longevity of this team. And it's not like it would survive long enough to do any significant damage either way. 27:15 What I would also add would be whole crew being present at the rematch fights post-game as a gauntlet competition, where we have to fight them again with just access to the items. This would also let us be really creative with their teams as now all of them should sport full team and likely also use Mega Stones. One other thing would be giving Kanto starter to one of them, as we were given one from Sycamore before. This would especially work well for Trevor, who canonically has used Mega Charizard Y in extended media.
Dancing. Art and fashion mons with everyone having an Eevee evo would be cool. Give the useless trio the og three Eevee while your rival gets Umbreon or Espeon depending on the version leaving you with Sylveon. Dancer boi having ludicolo as his main with the singing or dancing mons in back would work The girl mons like smergle. Levanny. Etc giving her fashion and art style would work best
The thing about other trainers' pokemon having tm moves before you really should not be a reason to disqualify it. Remeber, they're different from you and their journey isnt the same as yours. In all possibilities, they could just get the tms from a random npc before you
The only thing I disagree with is giving Altaria bulldoze in the final rival fight. It already has dragon dance, so it makes bulldoze redundant. I would've swapped bulldoze out for a different move.
I love these teams, and I like how they're more of a challenge. I'm also glad they now have more than three moves. Quick question, though. Why don't they have megas? I know not every trainer needs a mega evolution, I feel it could benefit the rivals if they were given said megas near the final parts of the game.
I have an idea for the rivals: Trevor: Raichu, Wormadam (Trash Cloak), Florges, Sawsbuck, Vivillon, and Mega Aerodactyl. Reasons for the form differences. Mega is Aerodactyl because he has it both game and anime. Tierno: Roserade, Ludicolo, Spinda, Talonflame, Flygon, and Mega Heracross. Talonflame can learn feather dance, Roserade petal dance, Spinda teeter dance, Ludicolo rain dance, Flygon dance, and Mega Heracross can learn swords dance plus it would look cool as a break dancer like his Blastoise in the anime. Shauna: Chesnaught, Slyveon, Goodra, Venusaur, Gothitelle, and Mega Ampharos. Chespin and Bulbasaur are the starters that fit Shauna the most. Gothitelle reminds me of her shirt. Goodra and Slyveon are cute, strong pokemon she'd have. Mega Ampharos is perfect for styling. Serena: Delphox, Blastoise, Leafeon, Clefable, Female Meowstic, Mega Absol. Calem: Greninja, Charizard, Jolteon, Gengar, Male Meowstic, Mega Pinsir. I felt like Mega Pinsir fits Calem more.
I loved most of your ideas if I had to change one thing however I would probably turn the Absol into the secondary ace and mega evolve it if Lysandre can have a mega before gym 8 every other important battle should also have one
Not sure if this was mentioned in a previous comment that I haven't seen yet, but I could see why they didn't give Tierno a Rain Dance user. In Japanese, Rain Dance is "Rain Prayer" and doesn't classify as a dancing move because of this. Adding on to this fun fact, Oricorio's ability Dancer won't activate on it but it would fail if it did since it would already be raining.
I love the fact that the side rivals got 4 as the most number of pokemon for the base-game since there's 3 of them. However the these teams is what I would do instead Trevor (Rare or famous Pokemon theme) 1.Raichu From original team 2.Blissey (In a Safari Ball) Kanto Safari Zone reference 3.Florges (Orange) From original team 4.Aerodactyl Potential mega evolve in post-game Rematch Shauna (Contest or Flashy theme) 1.Delcatty Good For contests 2.Goodra Idk its cute 3.Gothitelle The flashy and full of bows suits Shauna 4.Audino Post-game Rematch mega evo that suits her best Tierno (Dance Theme) 1.Gale Wings Talonflame I like the idea 2.Ludicolo There's no way I cant 3.Spinda Not that strong but I dont prioritize battling with Tierno anyways 4.Ampharos Jovial, cute mega that looks like it can dance
I wish they added another rival/friend to mirror the anime with ash, clemont and serena having the kalos starters and Shauna, trevor and Tierno having the kanto starters. I loved your picks of drifblim and escaviler, and the extra from calem/serena at the end
Honestly, Trevor should consistently have a 6 mon team. I would honestly lower the levels of his mons, but have him have 6 mons, because that's his thing, where he has a ton of Pokemon, but they're underleveled so he has to learn to train his Pokemon to get them up to par.
how on earth is pokemon village accessible at the bridge? the bridge leads to snowbelle city, and pokemon village is south of snowbelle city through the forest. how can you get to snowbelle city before the bridge?
Probably because it was a whole plot point at the Tower of Mastery of their not being enough keystones for more then 1 person, and it ends up going to the player
Lucky Chant stops the allied team from taking critical hits, not boost them. I don't usually see it either which is why I stick to my team of snipers and scope lenses and lansat berries.
Gonna be honest i forgot terrain was added in gen 6, I remember it was in gen 7 and i thought that's when it was introduced because the game actually used it and there were a lot of interesting moves that affected it.
I like to think that trevor at route 19 would have taken the mega ring challenge, because the pokedex has pages for the mega evolution.forms. So giving him a mega aerodactyl would make perfect sense. Also, I'd replace the aerodactyl's ability with pressure. Yes, i know that pressure sucks, but the only move that it can use with rock head is take down. And I know what you're thinking. "It doesn't matter since this will be his mega anyways" Well what if he waited to use the mega for a turn depending on the situation? Lastly, i'd replace ice fang with thunder fang. The only thing ice fang would counter is grass and rock types, and grass is already covered by aerial ace. I feel thunder fang is the much better coverage move. Onto escavalier. you said it's ability is shell armor, but it's ability in the video is rock head. That's the only thing about it i have to say. I love escavalier and i love that it's here Onto the final calum/serena fight. Flareon still has quick attack in it's moveset rather than substitute. But honestly I like quick attack better. I'm kinda shocked you opted out of mega absol, i saw it as kind of their true ace. but i love the scope lens striking fear into the hearts of mortal men. For the new mons, why not add their respective power up items? (charcoal for pyroar, mystic water for clawitzer, miracle seed for gogoat) Just to give them a little more power. Love the video, and love that you're giving gen 6 some much needed love. Can't wait for the next one!
On the idea for Silver: His team's aesthetic is using the unorthodox and the intimidating, hence him using more "creepy" types like Dark, Poison, and Ghost. Honestly, he hits that idea relatively well (though the overlap with Blue on Alakazam is a bit irksome), but the biggest issue with his squad is that GameFreak for some reason never bothered to evolve his Sneasel and Magneton to Weavile and Magnezone in HGSS (I know the player can't access those evolutions easily if at all in HGSS but STILL).
I think Calem/Serena (and all main rivals for that matter) should have HM moves on their Pokémon for additional realism. If they're going on a similar adventure as us, then they're going to be encountering the same obstacles. I mean, _maybe_ one could argue they're using an HM mule and boxing it before they face us, but that's a bit of a stretch. Heck, maybe add an HM mule onto the team.
@@OKreations genuinely i need my rivals to be a slight bit antagonistic, i'm already being jumped by every mf with a pokemon between my house and the market, having more then 1 trainer battle is not the mark of a rival anymore
Hey, I want to hear your opinions on the teams the rivals where given in the Rom Hack Eternal X and Wilting Y. It was a specifically a romhack designed to make the games less easy(Not Nuzlocke hard but I believe there is a version for Nuzlockes) with all the gym leaders having Mega Evolution after Korrina(and the Elite 4), and Green and Purple Flare Admins having Megas as well. The Rivals teams were adjusted as well and if I recall correctly, everyone ended up getting full teams.
I feel like for the Shadow Ball TM it's established that in his family there's been trainers so stuff like tams he probably has access to from like his parents
TBH they probably should've just replaced Trevor and Tierno with Sina and Dexio. Having the prof's assistants bring you your pokemon, encourage you to complete your pokedex and introduce you to the region's new mechanics would make sense, and it would help establish their characters more so you don't only meet them literally once before their masked hero moment.
17:18 If you're giving it a wide lense anyway it might be fun to sub flamethrower for fire blast. It would be stronger and have 93 accuracy instead of 85. But since it only has 5pp the player can more easily bide time to compensate for the harder hits.
I think Shauna should have used the sylveon she gets in the battle mason/ chatua... Its one em, and In the final battle with Callum/Serena them using their Mega absol could make sense, as they get it post-game and they miss the rival gauntlet due to training, which could be argued is for their own mega ring. Also the rival gauntlet is before the Pokémon village, making the berry illegal at that point.
Considering you have FOUR rivals in this game, they should've honestly made you constantly run into one in every single location. Since Trevor is a Pokédex rival, Tierno should've been a Gym rival, Shauna should've been a sightseeing rival, with Calem/Serena as our primary battling rival.
I’m glad that we weren’t inundated with fights around every corner, but I think Gamefreak could’ve added one or two more just to check in with them, maybe give tierno a side plot upon returning to lumiose city about getting into the dance scene, or have a side quest with Trevor where he asks you to find certain pokemon with him for his Pokédex
@@OKreations Not necessarily fights. They could’ve introduced a scrapbook mini-game where you have to take photos of every locale when you arrive, and Shauna could compare how many entries you each have every time you see her. With Trevor, just keep the Pokédex comparison already present in the game. And with Tierno, timed races in the gyms to the Leader. If you win, you get a little stat boost like in Opal’s trial in Galar. That just leaves Serena/Calem as your only rival you battle, but you see and interact with at least one rival in every location. Would make the game feel more alive, and make all four rivals feel far less interchangeable.
I like the Kalos games (rivals included) a lot. Like, a lot really. I wanted the rivals to have pokémon that show better their personalities. Not exactly strong, but a team that you look and think "makes sense"
I would have added a scraggy to trevors initial line-up as u can only encounter it in hordes and he gives you honey which forces a horde encounter when used so he has access to ways of getting those types of encounters.
I feel like Shauna and Calum SHOULD use Kanto Starters, since Professor Sycamore gives one to all 3 of us.
Good call!
Alternatively, give the other Kanto starters to Tierno and Trevor as they did in the anime, just so that all of the rivals can have a starter each. Tierno could have his know at least one dancing move (regardless of practicality), and Trevor could fit for completionism.
@@TLNT2103-zg3sbI'd give Tierno a Quiver Dance Venusaur just because
@@Naito115 I would give him a Blastoise with Rain Dance, since he has a Squirtle in the Anime
@Agus7531 yeah, but I wanna give Roserade a fellow dancing buddy
Any dancing team worth its salt needs a Ludicolo, at least they gave Tierno a Ludicolo in the anime
Fair enough! I like that add too!
@@OKreations In Legends Z-A I want to see a new Oricorio form on Tierno's team. Maybe a ice or fairy type ballerina (since it's France).
@@StephenMeek If Tierno or someone related is in that game
@@erenercan1306maybe even a couple of trade mons (I'd have loved a line of dialogue about him having fallen for an Everstone trade)
@@theapexsurvivor9538if you really want to reference something he could use a haunter with an everstone.
@@ThemultiverseTraveler that still makes me angry
I went with something different. Raichu, Wormadam (Trash Cloak), Florges, Sawsbuck, Vivillon, and Mega Aerodactyl. Since Trevor's whole thing is about filling the pokedex, I felt like he would catch pokemon known for form differences. His mega evolution is Aerodactyl because he has it both game and anime.
I really like the detail of Calem/Serena and Tierno trading pokemon, makes the friend group feel a whole lot more connected than it just being two duos that the protagonist happens to connect.
Yeah I thought making that distinction would have been a nice touch!
Trevor was probably the biggest waste of them all there should had make to rotate his team like Hop in swsh
Fully agree
@Josh-qt5zi oh yeah him rotating would make a lot of sense, too!
@@Josh-qt5zi I didn't even think about rotating, even the very first rival does that.
yeeee I can see trevor only keeping a kanto starter thats, probably weak against the one you pick? but otherwise swapping out his team for those in the areas prior to battling him! and having a full team of 6 by the end, though low leveled since someone did point out that battling isn't his priority!
Honestly why they never got more pokemon is so annoying looking back on it. Each could have gotten mons that show off their personalities in the base game to give you their growth and stories through their mons.
Dancing mons. Fashion etc. Some good teams can come from it. Make the game more balanced
I know right! A lot of missed potential with this lot
Strangely, in the Battle Maison, Shauna adds a Sylveon, and Trevs adds a Tyrantrum and Aurorus to their group of Pokémon (when you team up with them).
Tierno especially as a Pokedex completionist
The only thing I would change from all this is to make Calem/Serena give Absol the Absolite in the final battle, and only then, it will be perfect.
Exactly
Congrats!
Great idea!!!! Thanks so much for the support, hoping to get more content out to you guys soon!
Agree with the second rival fight
-Tierno has the kanto starter weak to the one you choose. Has a rotation of Talonflame, Roserade, Crawdaunt based on the unchosen starter. Adds QD Masquerien and DD Haxours as two extra members. Rematch has mega Kanto starter+ Mr. Mime
-Trevor has the Kanto starter SE vs yours with a rotation of Vileplume, Chandelure, and Floatzel. Has Florges and Raichu as additional members. Rematch has mega starter alongside Rhyperiror
-Shauna has Sylveon/Kangashan/Goodra alongside started with an additional member to support it Chesnaught+Quagsire, Delphox+Jumpluff, or Greninja+Magcargo. Rematch adds the one weak to starter and mega Kanga
-Serenea gets the fossil you didn't choose added to her team alongside starters, Meowstic, and Absol. Use 2 of the following based on the missing starter types: Gourgeist, Pyroar, Barbaracle.
Lucky Chant actually prevents Critical Hits dude.
He doubled down as a joke, I think he knows that.
Shauna:
Furfrou
Goodra
Dedenne
Froslass
Kalos starter weak to yours
Kanto starter weak to yours that mega evolves
Calem/Serena:
Fossil you didn't pick
Aegislash
Heliolisk
Clefable
Kalos starter strong against yours
Kanto starter strong against yours that mega evolves
If only Game Freak gave the Kalos Starters a mega evolution form. It's absurd enough that Generation 5 & 6 only have just one.
Should’ve gave tierno accelgor so it alludes to that Trevor and him traded to make the friendship between the rivals more believable like when Shauna gives you a starter
That could’ve been cool!
I’ve always like the idea of Treavor and Tierno having the other two Kanto starters. It’s more in line with their anime counter parts, and it just makes them better overall since starter Pokémon are typically just stronger than most other pokemon, and it would make it so every rival has a starter of their own.
That would be a cool idea!
This is incredible like TH-camr Rory the Fiend version of the Kalos Team. Subscribed. 👍
Appreciate that!
You and Rory should do a collaboration
I feel like you missed oppertunity by not giving Shauna,Tierno and Trevor their battle maison pokemon.
In the Multi partner mode of the battle maison, each of the three get exclusive pokemon you dont see in the main game :
Shauna: Sylveon
Tierno: Hawlucha
Trevor: Tyrantrum and Aurorus
Yeah I know it’s a dancing move lol, but it could’ve had other moves too. But I get what you mean, character wise
The amount of Kalos Representation on this channel makes me pretty content
Love to hear it
Fixing the Kalos Rivals.
Your changes are great! I would love to play the games with these improved battles, it gives more challenging vibes!
I’m glad you agree! I’ll see if there’s any easy ways to make changes to 3DS games!
Here is how I would lay out the battles:
1) Shauna's first battle with Weaker Kalos Starter stays the same.
3) Add a Shauna Battle between Parfum Palace and the Snorlax [maybe place it in the Berry Fields since so many people miss that place entirely]
• She could use Skitty/Honedge/Weaker Kalos Starter.
• The Honedge would be underleveled, being caught right outside Parfum Palace in Route 6.
4) Multibattle with Trevor & Tierno is moved to Ambrette Town:
• Calem/Serena has Absol/Fletchling/Stronger Kalos Starter
• Trevor has Pikachu/Flabébé/Stronger Kanto Starter
• Tierno has Espurr/Corphish/Weaker Kanto Starter
• 6 Pokémon is a lot, but by this point you probably have a full team [or at least more than three mons], and Calem/Serena will have 3 leading with Absol who is a powerhouse.
• After this battle, Tierno and Calem/Serena do the trade so Espurr is Calem/Serena's for the Grunt Multibattle in Glittering Cave (like in the games)
5) Calem/Serena's Tower of Mastery Battle should be Meowstic/Eevee/Absol/Stronger Kalos Starter
6) I agree with changing the Coumarine battle to Shauna, and I feel like she would have Delcatty/Eevee/Doublade/Weaker Kalos Starter.
[Note: This is because Trevor uses Aurorus & Tyrantrum in the Battle Maison.]
• Shauna assists you using Doublade/Sylveon/Goodra/Weaker Kalos Starter.
• Trevor uses Aurorus (Snow Warning)/Aerodactyl/Florges/Stronger Kanto Starter
• Tierno uses Avalugg/Crawdaunt/Talonflame (Gale Wings)/Weaker Kanto Starter
• This feels OP now with Snow instead of Hail that the Defense boost that didn't exist yet.
So the battle totals become:
• Calem/Serena - 5 (+4 Assists)
• Shauna - 5 (+2 Assist)
• Trevor - 3 (+1 Assist, All Multibattles)
• Tierno - 3 (+1 Assist, All Multibattles)
In the Post-Game we should be able to rematch all four Friends/Rivals.
I also believe that she might also catch a Furfrou that she puts on the team to battle you with instead of her Delcatty since “it doesn't want to battle you anymore”
• Shauna’s Post-Game Team is Furfrou/Gothitelle/Aegislash/Sylveon/Weaker Kalos Starter/Goodra.
Tl;dr
Didn't want another Gardenia's over leveled Turtwig situation and the 3rd Gym was Double Battle Gym Leaders, that would have 4 total team members anyway.)
I do remember that there was a cave mini dungeon where you needed to go find that Water Gym Leader practicing her ceremonial dance routine with her Pokemon team before being able to fight her in her Gym. Said cave would have a a lot of waterways and a constant rain effect from all the time she spent in there to avoid giving her home city more rain than it needed. Obviously, it'd have been called Rainy Cave, in true Pokemon naming style.
Roserade should've kept Budew's Rain Dance, type coordination be damned XD
That’s a good call with masquerain still being there
Lucky Chant doesn’t boost your Crit chance - it temporarily prevents your opponent from landing a Crit.
Also, the Pokémon Village isn’t accessible until a little bit after the rival gauntlet.
OOP you right
I know that Calem and Serena get a once per day rematch in Kiloude City; I would've liked to see you take a crack at that team, as well as make post-game all-out rematches for everyone!
But other than that, great job! Totally agree with you giving Shauna one of Calem/Serena's fights, and I love what you did with the teams in general.
Good call! Might have to incorporate postgame fights into it next time. Thanks I appreciate the support!
I love how you use the teams to tell the stories of the characters adventure :)
3:17 small correction, it actually blocks crits from the users side, still great video though
Great catch! Thanks!
loved this analysis and the creativity you put into these teams!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed!
Seeing the original movesets, the way they just fill the 3rd or 4th slot of so many pokemon with the pretty much useless Quick Attack is comical
Thanks so much for the feedback! I really appreciate it!
Love these type of videos dude! if you ever turn this into a rom hack I need you to send it my way lol
Will do!
2:01 I find the fenikin slander funny
Tervor should have his anime team so he could obiterate out of nowhere
Interesting choices. What I would add, were Post Game Teams for each Rival. I find it sad, that you cannot rematch them after the Story, besides the main rival and even there, some of they're Pokemon have only 3 Moves.
Good idea!
This reminds me of TH-camr Lumiose Trainer Zactoshi's new team for Generation 6 a few years back. Nostalgic.
Nice!
What's the music around 14:00?
18:48 why not Venoshock instead of Sludge Bomb since you're already poisoning the opponent anyways?
Venoshock would’ve def been better there, good call!
16:18 You can also get it by using Air Cutter, Twister or Blizzard on trees during some battles in routes 8, 12 and the cities close to them. Everyone seems to forget abt that mechanic but I love bc it's so useful in my monotype nuzlockes lmao
Love your stuff bro
Thanks!
I actually love the idea of a friend group of rivals.
I really hope they bring back the concept one day.
Ikr
Awesome topic🔥
Can you do Silver and Cheren next?
Good ideas!
Really good video since in the adventure manga calum and Serena pick a Kanto starter I see no harm in adding that to their team other than that you’ve made great changes
Yeah that could’ve been a cool addition!
Honestly if you just make a mod where Shauna, Tierno, and Trevor battles you sometimes with actually good teams it'd make the game more fun fr
Recently found your YT channel, looks nice! But maybe you can add some more playlists so your videos are easier to find. Just a tip!
Oh thanks so much for the tip! Makes sense! What playlists would you think could be helpful?
Dancing. Art and fashion mons with everyone having an Eevee evo would be cool. Give the useless trio the og three Eevee while your rival gets Umbreon or Espeon depending on the version leaving you with Sylveon.
Dancer boi having ludicolo as his main with the singing or dancing mons in back would work
The girl mons like smergle. Levanny. Etc giving her fashion and art style would work best
Leavanny would’ve been a good one too!
@@OKreations Unfortunately, Leavanny isn't in the Kalos dex.
Troooo
Great video. Good team additions and changes I think
Thanks dood🤩
The thing about other trainers' pokemon having tm moves before you really should not be a reason to disqualify it. Remeber, they're different from you and their journey isnt the same as yours. In all possibilities, they could just get the tms from a random npc before you
The only thing I disagree with is giving Altaria bulldoze in the final rival fight. It already has dragon dance, so it makes bulldoze redundant. I would've swapped bulldoze out for a different move.
Fair enough I see what you mean!
I like the way he doubles down on saying lucky chant gives a crit chance boost when that’s basically the complete opposite of what it does
Oopsiessss
wooooo yeeeeaaaah an owen vid!
Lesgooooooo
I love these teams, and I like how they're more of a challenge. I'm also glad they now have more than three moves. Quick question, though.
Why don't they have megas? I know not every trainer needs a mega evolution, I feel it could benefit the rivals if they were given said megas near the final parts of the game.
He mentioned it when going over the battles on Route 19. Tierno, Trevor, and Shauna don’t get Key Stones.
I have an idea for the rivals:
Trevor: Raichu, Wormadam (Trash Cloak), Florges, Sawsbuck, Vivillon, and Mega Aerodactyl.
Amazing video.
If you are planning on following up this video PLEASE DO THE ALOLA RIVALS!!!
Thanks! Good idea!
Great video love it although personally I would have given tiernos talonflame featherdance, just to up the different dance moves
I agree! That makes too much sense, good call!
Idk why but when I saw this video I thought it was fixing them as characters 😂 nonetheless this was still a very interesting video to watch!
Yeah maybe in future installments I’ll address their characters!
However the these teams is what I would do instead
Trevor (Rare or famous Pokemon theme)
1.Raichu
From original team
2.Blissey (In a Safari Ball)
Kanto Safari Zone reference
3.Florges (Orange)
From original team
4.Aerodactyl
Potential mega evolve in post-game Rematch
Shauna (Contest or Flashy theme)
1.Delcatty
Good For contests
2.Goodra
Idk its cute
3.Gothitelle
The flashy and full of bows suits Shauna
4.Audino
Post-game Rematch mega evo that suits her best
Tierno (Dance Theme)
1.Gale Wings Talonflame
I like the idea
2.Ludicolo
There's no way I cant
3.Spinda
Not that strong but I dont prioritize battling with Tierno anyways
4.Ampharos
Jovial, cute mega that looks like it can dance
I wish they added another rival/friend to mirror the anime with ash, clemont and serena having the kalos starters and Shauna, trevor and Tierno having the kanto starters. I loved your picks of drifblim and escaviler, and the extra from calem/serena at the end
Thanks so much! Appreciate it
Honestly, Trevor should consistently have a 6 mon team.
About 13:30 - why not give Absol a Mega Stone already? Didn't you start Mega Evolving GL Aces starting with Clemont?
Probably because it was a whole plot point at the Tower of Mastery of their not being enough keystones for more then 1 person, and it ends up going to the player
Yeah that’s exactly the reason, I guess I could’ve changed the plot up a bit to make that happen, but idk
The fat dude’s gimmick should’ve been rotation battles to tie in with his love of dancing. Alternative forms of battling are ridiculously slept on
That would’ve been a really cool idea!
Damn Tierno would’ve loved Oricorio and Flamigo. He would be a doubles demon with those things
So trooooo
No phrase better describes X and Y than "missed potential"
Exactly
I like to think that trevor at route 19 would have taken the mega ring challenge, because the pokedex has pages for the mega evolution.forms. So giving him a mega aerodactyl would make perfect sense.
Also, I'd replace the aerodactyl's ability with pressure. Yes, i know that pressure sucks, but the only move that it can use with rock head is take down. And I know what you're thinking. "It doesn't matter since this will be his mega anyways"
Well what if he waited to use the mega for a turn depending on the situation?
Lastly, i'd replace ice fang with thunder fang. The only thing ice fang would counter is grass and rock types, and grass is already covered by aerial ace. I feel thunder fang is the much better coverage move.
Onto escavalier. you said it's ability is shell armor, but it's ability in the video is rock head. That's the only thing about it i have to say. I love escavalier and i love that it's here
Onto the final calum/serena fight.
What about Silver team from Johto? When hoenn gyms fixing?
I don’t think hoenn’s gyms need fixing! I could be convinced to do silver!
I think it would've been really cool to give Calem/Serena's starters their respective ultimate move on their last battle
Fun idea!
my first thought i had at the title was "I had a rival in kalos?"
Amazing😂
@@OKreations genuinely i need my rivals to be a slight bit antagonistic, i'm already being jumped by every mf with a pokemon between my house and the market, having more then 1 trainer battle is not the mark of a rival anymore
Troooo
That’s an interesting thought!
ngl I liked the Kalos rivals as a concept. They all had a role and different charecters
That would’ve been a good pick too!
Honestly Tierno should get a lot more dancing pokemon if they ever bring him back
3:17 Lucky Chant doesn’t boost critical hit chance… It stops them from happening
Good call!
