I do want to note, you said that Aipom doesn't fit Whitney's character, but Aipom was originally going to be her ace, and the reason she wears a sort of baseball uniform
@@OKreations I know this is about 4 months later, but yeah that do be the case. Though to be more precise, it's a softball inspired outfit (basically baseball, but with only underhand pitches), which is also explained by an NPC in B2/W2s Pokemon World Tournament area.
Yeahhhh I wanted to make a change just to change something for scyther but I do agree with you there, i think if I make the rom hack for this I won’t include wing attack
My favorite idea for Morty is just literally giving him every Ghost type in the game at that point lol, so he keeps his Gastly, but replaces a Haunter with Misdreavus. Gastly while being frail, really packs a dangerous punch especially for a first-stage Pokemon.
I don't get why Chuck has 2 pokémon while earlier gym leader Morty has 4 for zero reason. For that level, he could just have had Misdreavus-Haunter-Gengar.
@@okay8659 which is weird, since Drifblim is the main Gen IV ghost. It should be Drifblim imo. Also Agatha's ace is Gengar, so he already has a repeat ace anyway.
Here's what I would do for these gym leaders: FALKNER: Hoothoot/Pidgeotto BUGSY: Scyther/Ledyba/Spinarak WHITNEY: Snubbull/Miltank MORTY: Haunter/Misdreavus/Gengar [GSC] / Misdreavus/Haunter/Mismagius [HGSS] - I think they should've added ALL relevant gen IV evos to the HGSS Johto Dex
My only thought on the video is to maybe actually give scyther Vacuum wave because it will teach players just because a type’s effectiveness is on the field, the opponents pokemon also learn moves of different types and that they are smart enough to use it (to keep geodude from walling the first two gyms by itself). Other than that, an amazing video as usual!
@@OKreationsbut Geodude’s sp def is absolute doo doo, so with a crit (since it also has focus energy), it might take out what was supposed to crush the whole team.
These changes for the Johto gym leaders are great so far. One change I would have done is Whitney's team which would be Teddiursa, Furret and Miltank. I would love to see you make a Heartgold and Soulsilver romhack wirh these changes for the Johto Gym Leaders!
I actually agree with this change...that and I think Furret does actually fit Whitney's character and it is a cute pokemon. I mean...Furret is pretty well known for that Furret Walk shtick and all, I don't see why Whitney WOULDN'T want to use this pokemon. Even if Furret is ridiculously taller than expected but besides the point. Plus...and yes, while Furret isn't AMAZING by any means...it's still usable for the third gym, it's speed stat isn't that bad at that point in the game and it's already evolved by that point.
Idk why but I’m just not seeing the furret work for me, maybe it’s just cuz it’s not pink? I understand it being somewhat cute but it’s not like a cuddly lil guy like clefairy and snubbull ya know?
Murkrow with pursuit in the first gym is a bit too much imo. The player shouldn't be deincentivized to switch their pokemon in battle in gym 1. The move being used in gym 3-4 to teach the player that sometimes, switching can be punished, is a better lesson in gane design. The player would have learned that hey, don't be afraid to switch to a better pokemon when your current one isn't suited for the task, then impart them with a lesson to be careful though, as some pokemon can take advantage of this and punish your decision, so be strategic when switching.
I feel like Noctowl would be a better fit for Morty, with it being based on a grandfather clock and it having that whole “time” motif going on, I think it loosely encapsulates a lot of Johto and Ecruteak’s general themes of preserving traditions and embracing the past pretty well. and with it being only found at night and learning Hypnosis, Dream Eater and a lot of ghost type moves, I feel like it would be a good fit for him and I think it fits that ‘spiritual’ vibe you’re going for very well. I would keep Falkner’s Pidgey, since it’s kind of the quintessential “bird keeper” Pokémon, and it fits better with Murkrow’s more jagged and “rough” looking design and scrappy temperament, even though it can’t bring that same utility that Hoothoot does. plus, owls are known to symbolize wisdom in literature, and it could loosely represent Morty’s pursuit of knowledge in his ultimate goal of meeting Ho-oh. I just don’t think Falkner has the maturity to wield one.
I'm loving this series, and I love that it's trying to remain consistent with the actual games and not create any crazy difficulty rom level teams. As someone who mostly just plays the base games every once in a while, I appreciate this approach! Great work and much love
Everything explained in the beginning of the video is exactly why I'm working on my own ROM, fixing weird level scaling, improving gyms, moves etc too. Thanks for this video, really helps inspire how to improve things
@OKreations Certainly a lot of effort, going through every route, trainer and stat block takes a toll lol. Good luck with yours too, hopefully comes out well :D
Snubble on Whitney’s team ( a second Pokémon that would be retroactively become a fairy type) lends credence to the idea that had Whitney been introduced gen 6 or later she’d have been a fairy type specialist. Though that’d mean she’d lose Miltank which is kind of the Pokemon that makes Whitney, Whitney.
Fun fact: In the spaceworld beta, Bugsy's team consisted of a lvl 20 Pinsir with Vice Grip, Fury Cutter, Focus Energy, and Seismic Toss, a lvl 18 Ledian with Agility, Quick Attack, Bite, and Psybeam, and a lvl 16 Metapod with Tackle, String Shot, and Harden.
Falkner is paying for the sins... of himself in GSC where him just spamming Mud-Slap (which not only lowers your accuarcy, not only deals damage, but also is supereffective against most popular starter) made that version of him one of the hardest first gym leaders ever. Like seriously, signature move that deals damage and makes you miss is exactly the way to kill any desire to play pokemon again among young kids just picking up those games.
My teams are based on GSC instead of HGSS: Falkner: Level 7 Pidgey, Level 9 Pidgeotto Bugsy: Level 14 Metapod, Level 14 Kakuna, Level 16 Scyther Whitney: Level 18 Clefairy, Level 20 Miltank Morty: Level 21 Gastly, Level 23 Haunter, Level 25 Gengar, Level 25 Gengar Yes. I gave Morty two Level 25 Gengar. The first one will use Hypnosis+Dream Eater and the second one will use Hypnosis+Nightmare. I kept the cocoons on Bugsy's team but his Scyther should have known Focus Energy in GSC.
My changes: Falkner - Natu and Pidgey (day) - Hoothoot and Murkrow (night) Bugsy - Spinarak, Ledian and Scyther Whitney - Furret, Aipom and Miltank (cute pokémon but not gived fairy type) Morty - Misdreavus, Stantler and Gengar (yeah, three pokémon)
@@Amelia4111based on Pokedex entry/lore and it's design it makes more sense to be part ghost than the hundredth pure normal type like furret Milktank and urasing
Great video I really want to see the part 2 :) And like usual here's the **TEXT WALL** of my opinion/personal changes: (yes I do have lots of fun writing all of this as I actually do research on movesets, etc..) >Falkner I really like giving him Murkrow and I was first going to say that falkner should have Noctowl but then I remembered that Murkrow stats are actually pretty good for a first form pkmn so yeah I don't have any changes to say xd. Side note: I would give the oran berry to hoothoot as murkrow will already be spamming roost regardless... making the bery almost useless probably. >Bugsy -I have many problems with Scyther I'll try to keep it simple: Quick attack at this point coming from scyther speed and attack with a possible focus energy is beyond dangerous, specially when nothing the player has actually outspeeds it making a counter attack with quick attack unlikely, instead scyther should have Hm Cut, would be something more unique and fitting considering you get it right after beating bugsy. Wing Attack and Focus Energy are the 2 moves I'm ok with, it's a good stab move + a buffing move showing the player how important said moves are. About U-turn I personally think Fury Cutter would be better, it's weak only 10 power, but with Focus Energy it can steam roll out of control, it's kinda lame that the only bug move scyther has forces him out of battle. -Ledyba is a pretty cool pokemon to add here, only thing I dislike is the combo of Supersonic and Reflect, it basically makes ledyba a rng hell where if you hit it you might not kill and if you don't hit you will just hurt yourself, safeguard would be slightly more interesting prevent the player from possibly status Scyther, also Swift instead of Comet Punch just makes more sense. - About spinarak I wouldn't change anything about it aside from the pokemon itself, Pineco with Rollout (I know it learns it only at 23), rapid spin, protect and bug bite (or spikes/toxic spikes) would be more interesting, but maybe too powerful xd. I think this changes don't make bugsy too overwhelming while actually making those other 2 mons useful (seriously ledyba atk sucks). >Whitney I really want to replace clefairy with Cleffa here xd. -Giving Cleffa instead of clefairy to whitney would also come along with a new moveset, sweet kiss, Covet, magical leaf and encore, it would allow cleffa to survive based on confusion luck, steal the player item and basically throw them off their feet in case they where depending on a item AND if it's a berry cleffa will be able to use it to heal. -Really love Snubull and don't have anything to change. -About Miltank I think Attract should be replaced with Defense Curl for the simple reason of throwing the players plans in the dumpster, basically that machop and possible use of rock smash becomes a bit less effective making the players either need to crit (which machop was ways of getting easily) or use a special attacker. >Morty I was at first thinking that Unown shouldn't be in the team but actually the idea of it being a random hidden power sounds cool (perhaps should even be something that the game autochanges based on what pokemon is on the field... basically becoming a counter to whatever you currently have on... or just be a fixed dark type HP to counter psychic and ghosts). By Morty I think gym leaders should start using more than a single held item, here's my idea: -To start off let's not replace Gastly with Misdreavus and instead let's change gastly utility, the moveset should be Confuse Ray, disable, Ominous Wind and Trick.. also giving this gastly a item like sticky barb to trade with the enemy for their item, it's a almost never used item and gastly can't do much else at this point in game so I don't see a reason not to make a little trickster. -About gengar I also think he's moveset is fine but perhaps dream eater would be a cool move? maybe too strong.. -BEGONE STANTLER! We are bringing Mismagius with the moveset of Substitute (it would be like the doll is a little poltergeist), Perish Song, Pain Split and Thief, I really like the idea of taking players items. As for the item I would give Mismagius a Sitrus Berry to keep her healed for a bit longer.
These are great ideas! Love the cut idea as it still gets use of Technician making it do more damage than quick attack, and the switch to cleffa is fun idea as well taking away the item with Covet! The gastly trick set up is a wild idea I really love that idea especially because you never see that item being used a single time
My first play through of hg (it was my first game I was like 10 or something) I I grinded levels on chicorita until I got it to meganium before I beat falkner because I just really wanted to beat him with my starter ig
Amazing video, will you make a video fixing the second gen Kanto leaders?? That would be a lot of work, but always bothers me to see Blue using his regular team and not adjust to the original Ground-Type Gym
You know you make all these really cool changes to gym leaders and elite 4, bro you need to make a rom download, I'd love to play against these much more difficult gym leaders
It'd be really cute if Falkners dad came up later in the game, maybe as an optional boss, with a Honchkrow. Maybe he adopted a Honchkrow who's Murkrow son went to Falkner.
I do not think removing Pidgeotto is the right move for Falkner.Pidgeotto is too iconic and can provide a good challenge if given good moves. Take away Tackle and give Pidgeotto Mud Slap and Secret Power. Mud Slap hits both Mareep and Geodude for Super Effective damage. I know the damage is low, but the main draw is the accuracy drop. Landing Rock Throw will be challenging after a few Mud Slaps. Secret Power will do decent damage to Mareep and has a good chance of Paralysis. The paralysis and accuracy drop will give Pidgeotto turns to use Roost.
I feel like it falkner's ace would've been alright if it were a kanto flying-type that wasn't very well represented, but everyone knows about blue's pidgeot, so :|
Teams I would pick. Gym 1: mucrow and impossible noctowl. Gym 2: ledian spinarak and Scyther. Gym 3: clafairy teddiuraa milktank. Gym 4: mistridus Gengar haunter and stantler for coverage Gym 5 hymochop poliwrath heracross and machoke Gym 6: skarmory steelix magniton fortress. So much coverage now. Gym 7: weavil(or sneasil) delibird dewgong momoswine(line) would be strong Gym 8: kindra dragonair garados mantine and another Dragonair to give you a major challenge
@@OKreations clair is basically a dragon of the sea so I can see her use it plus these pokemon deserve some shine. Can't wait for gen 3 gyms. I got so many ideas like flannery using a castform sunny day set to show off this Pokemon's power.
Wow that’s such a fun and cool idea! I was considering jumping to x and y after doing Johtos elite four since I feel like they require a lot of change whereas Hoenn is like 95% okay imo
@@OKreations well some of the gyms could use a tune up. Roxanne getting anorith and lileep to counter mudkip better. Brawly getting a breloom to show off that pokemon and so on. To really balance those teams out Yeah x and y is a mess and would probably take a lot longer to find what they could use
Yeah I wouldn’t want to go too crazy with Hoenn, I feel like the fossils might be a bit too much, I’m just happy with her being the first rock type gym leader that has an ace that doesn’t take 4x damage from 2/3 of the starter pokemon ya know? And yeah I could see breloom being the new ace there honestly that’s not a terrible play
You know you can get all the way to the Lake of Rage before Morty and get a Girafarig, which is the best hard counter to him. It's very out of the way, but it's worth it
I've always felt like the best way to fix Johto's pacing would be to make the first visit to Ecruteak City block off progression, having to do Pryce as the 4th gym followed by the Lake of Rage/Rocket HQ event before returning to get to do Morty as the 5th Gym and the Burnt Tower to get access to the western route. Then you'd have Lighthouse, Chuck 6th Gym, followed by Medicine for 7th Gym and/or Team Rocket, leaving access to the 8th Gym the same. There's already enough in the way of optional side areas that the main story progressing entirely linearly isn't a problem in my book, and that's the best way to make it flow instead of allowing all the mid to late game Rocket encounters being stacked up in succession.
Y'know it really depends if were talking gen 2, gen 4, or a fictional Let's Go style game. Cuz a Let's go Game for Clair and Morty COULD be fun. Like Galarian Corsola or Cursala, and Alolan Marowak (we were are allowing any and all Kanto/Johto regional forms. And for Clair her team could go Gyarados, Dragonair, Alolan Exeggutor, and Kingdra.
I get what your saying, but there's a gen 2 U-Turn mon, that gets no lie, in fact it's SUPER rare. Yanma. It would be easier to handle then Scyther would, but it would be a better fit. Also it wouldn't be his ace. Yanma with: U-Turn, Gust, Detect, and Quick Atack with Speed Boost. Then Spinarak, and Heracross for an Ace.
Here's what I did, although I went off of post-gen 6 rules and also Megas: •Falkner: The Pidgey line feels too crucial to Falkner to remove, but I did add in a Hoothoot for vibe-matching Johto rep and because I loathe the concept of gym leaders having less than three Pokemon. •Bugsy: I really liked the concept of him having a Scyther that U-Turns into two crappy pupa Pokemon, so all I did was add in a Yanma for Johto rep and because said pupas only counted as two halves of one Pokemon to me. I like what you did more, however. •Whitney: I decided to turn her into a dual type Normal/Fairy gym leader due to how her theme is cutesy girly Pokemon that trap your Pokemon with their girly charm. Also to keep her Clefairy in. I added in a Furret and a Jigglypuff, and I think I'd make the Jigglypuff have Igglybuff-only moves as well. •Morty: I merely swapped out one of his Haunters for a Misdreavus, but I like your concept more. I think I'd keep the Gastly and just swap out both Haunters instead, though.
wow this was actually insanely good, you’re talented and definitely deserve more love and attention. Very professional production and good commentary as well as your improvements making a lot of sense being very fair
I think Whitney was done the best, snubble really fits both the aesthetic and strategy of Whitney’s team. However bugsy’s team lost its identity by giving up its walls and putting two squishy bugs on it for scyther to sacrifice with uturn. Scyther should have been swapped for heracross with that team, its fighting type would have made a good counter to geodude who just throttles the whole early game. The scyther line can be represented on Jasmine’s team where the uturn strat can be used effectively with bulky steel mons. If scyther stayed I would have preferred to see pineco and kakuna as walls. Pineco rocking explosions and kakuna with black sludge harden and toxic. That would have turned the switch fodder into scary mons. I do think adding a stantler Morty is a bad move if the rest of your gyms don’t contain multiple types. I think adding mismagius would have just been the correct decision. Your whole team building is based on gen 4 mechanics but you use no gen 4 mons, mismagius would have slotted perfectly into the team as a new ace or secondary sweeper. Letting the sleep haunter to do its thing against slower mons while it comes in against fast stuff with type coverage like Croconaw and gyrados
I wish the nintendo remake made changes to the level curve and pokemon used by trainers! And focused on Johto more, allowing us to actually catch the gen 2 mons! This gen could have been top tier if they did that!
I have an idea for bugsy. He’d have 3 Pokémon, but the other 2 are spinarak and parasect. I picked parasect to teach that some Pokémon have weaknesses that do more damage than normal and spinarak is adorable.
So I actually think that for Faulkner an impossible Xatu makes all the sense. Think about it whats close to his town? The ruins. Where do you find natu? The ruins. So lets say as a kid he was exploring the ruins are kids are want to do. He could either run into a natu that he defends against something bigger and who due to its bond with faulkner eventually evolves into Xatu to protect faulkner. Actually giving him a connection to his mons. Or he could have been exploring when the impossibke Xatu decided to attack some pokemon or something and faulkner caught it to save them and its this act that helps his dad know that hes ready to run the gym.
Switch Murkrow with gligar. It gives Folkers a reason to have sand attack as his tm and will make the fight less of a clean sweep with a single pokemon. Gligars gen 4 level up set is actually super interesting for a stall pokemon early on, give it a berry and it will do some work with poison sting and knock off.
I would give every leader three mons: Falkner: Pidgey, Pidgey, Pidgeotto Bugsy: Kakuna, Metapod, Scyther Whitney: Clefairy, Doduo, Miltank Morty: Gastly, Haunter, Gengar (I'd rather give Snubbull/Granbull to Morty rather than to Whitney, and instead of giving him a Stantler)
For falkners team, I’d replace noctowl for natu. Natu could represent the day and murkrow could represent the night. Both being on his team can reflect later on in the ef. Where the natu is now the ace of will evolved into xatu and falkners ace would be part of Karen’s team. The first and last members of the johto league respectively. But that’s just me. Bugsy, honestly I’m pretty content overall. I’d personally do spinarak and pineco as they don’t share type combo with scyther and makes it so u could technically sweep with an ice, rock, and/electric in the first two gyms alone but eh. The gym badge is a ladybug so I guess evolve the ledybug to a ledian and replace wing attack with vaccum wave like someone suggested to offset the rock and ice weakness a bit. Maybe vaccum wave would let sycther hit electric types without activating static. Whitney. Honestly, if we are talking pre gen 6. Her having only two mons is fine. Heck, I like that u used the baby mechanic and made Whitney have a pokemon it probably wouldn’t have otherwise. That’s clever. Post gen 6, id just replace the clefairy with jigglypuff/wigglytuff. They are pink like clefairy while still having the normal typing to them. If we do want one more pokemon to her team (she really doesn’t need another one) id say furret to let the jobto mammal get some love like raticate gets love in both gen 1 and gen 2. Morty: honestly, I don’t mind the stantler pick but honestly, I’ll go with noctowl as he fits being immune to ground types like the rest of his team and can do the strat mortys known for.
I have always wondered, why don't Johto Gym Leaders use the Pokémon from their region? Falkner has Hoothoot and Natu, Bugsy has Spinarak and Yanma, and Morty has Misdreavus. I would have left Falkner his Pigeotto, but you fixed the teams very well 👍🏻✨
@@OKreationsThanks for taking my ideas into account. In my case I would give Falkner a Natu, Morty would have Murkrow instead of Stantler and I would give Whitney a Aipom. Even so, I insist that your ideas are much better and I regret that the Gold/Silver games were not like that 👌🏻✨
These are really nice teams you have, and I have a couple suggestions for the others. For Claire, I think Feraligatr would fit very well on her team as a foil to Lance’s Charizard. It helps that Feraligatr can learn dragon moves. Pryce: Since you are using HGSS, maybe consider putting Weavile on his team? Jynx, Lapras and/or Cloyster are other mons I can see him using. Chuck: he should use Hitmontop definitely, as well as Heracross
@@OKreations while using milk drink would reset the damage, during the turns it is locked into rollout, it will do even more damage than before, making it need to heal less.
Great changes! I love how you made Murkrow Falkner's Ace, I've always thought it should have been his ace. The extra thing it does is to introduce the player to the Dark type when their Psychic moves from Butterfree for instace don't do any damage. Bugsy's and Whitney's teams look good, no need for extra super strong threats when Miltank and Scyther are so intimidating, I'd only consider putting in Furret as it doesn't get love and it absolutely fits Whitney, you could even give it Focus Blast and Thunderbolt to represent the Department Store and Pokeathlone, it isn't too outrageous with Furret's low special attack and is extra coverage. Morty I always pictured with a Ninetales. It's not a Ghost type, but it's found very close Ecruteak, it's based off of Kitsune from Japanese legends, it has the mystical aura which suits Morty and it can learn many Ghost Moves like Grudge, Spite, Confuse Ray and Omnimous Wind. It'd also be an extra bit of coverage for Morty
Also if I was making new teams for the rest of the gym leaders: Chuck - Hitmontop, Primeape, Sudowoodo, Poliwrath (I just wanna say that I love that smithplays added sudowoodo to his team. It gives him coverage agianst flying types, it learns alot of fighting moves and it just seems like a mon chuck would use. Pls the fact the new cianwood gym has alot of water makes me think that chuck trained sudowoodo to get over it's fear of water, which is fun to me and maybe you could give it thunder punch to show this. It also makes it so that bruno can have heracross on his team) Jasmine - Skarmory, Magneton, Foretress, Steelix Pryce - Dewgong, Sneasel, Jynx, Mamoswine Claire - Dragonair(x2), Gyarados, Lapras, Kingdra Also you could keep the corsola and cloyster jasmine and pryce get in thier crystal legacy teams, or maybe make it so depending who you fight first will have 4 pokemon and the one you fight after will have 5 (or make them both have 5 regardless). If you do that make sure chuck is required to be fought 5 and then you can pick for jasmine and pryce.
Yeah a diverse team of Pokemon for gym leaders, elite four and champion. Infact I loved how Lance, Agatha, Lorelei and Flint had to use Pokemon outside of their types. Yeah I totally agree on using Pokemon that are similar like using ghost or psychic Pokemon for a dark team. Or if a poison team include a grass/poison or a Pokemon with levitate. Or in flints case fiery Pokemon like fighting types and normal types.
I absolutely agree with your Snubbull pick for Whitney, but if a Johto game were to be remade and add the Fairy type, I'd replace it with a Shiny Aipom. Gen 2 was the first gen to introduce shiny Pokémon, shiny Aipom is pink and cute, and I think it could do wonders for Whitney's team, being a fast, annoying, but not too strong lead to make Miltank all the more difficult. Also, THANK YOU, I've been wanting to have Falkner use a Murkrow for so long because it's not just a good first gym leader ace, it also teaches the player about the Dark type, which is completely new to Johto. Bugsy's team is perfect, I always struggle between choosing that or just a singular Scizor as a massive threatening bug to showcase how much above the other bug catchers he is for his team. For Morty, I was thinking maybe instead of Stantler, he could have a Marowak, as it has a huge association with the ghost type, both with its Alolan form and how Marowak are often said to die in the games. It would even fit Morty's character, as he wants to find Ho-oh, a Pokémon known for bringing others back to life and instilling joy, so maybe his Marowak was a Cubone who Morty got and wants to find Ho-oh to revive his mom or something. Idk. It just helps to have a Pokémon that isn't walled by Special tanks as well, giving him more variety.
I like the shiny Aipom pick that’s cool! I feel like scizor would be interesting if you want to also introduce the player to steel earlier on like Murkrow with dark, and the marowak seems decent but I also don’t think cubone is in Johto at all but that isn’t too big of a deal
for morty i've always thought alongside misdreavus, he should have either a dunsparce or an eevee or both to replace the haunters, both can learn shadow ball and dunsparce is based on a mythical creature tsuchinoko which ties in to morty's obsession with legends while eevee can reference the ecruteak dance theatre, for bugsy and whitney, i try to keep their pokemon mostly johto based so ledian and yanma for bugsy instead of kakuna and metapod, its not like ledian is that powerful and give whitney teddiursa and snubbull and get rid of clefairy, for falkner a spearow and underleveled noctowl
I think Whitney should have Cleffa, Igglybuff and Miltank. The baby pokemon are perfect for her. They are newly introduced, she is right by the day care and she loves cute pokemon. They may be weak, but clefairy isn't that strong either.
Can you please make videos on the detailed step by step process of editing any pokemon game (you can take the basic example of Pokemon FireRed)? If possible, also make video on adding rematches of gym leaders.
I appreciate the more wild changes here! I understand not giving bugsy scyther but I really think highlighting a section of the Kanto Pokédex that didn’t get a spotlight in Kanto is part of what the original gen 2 games were trying to do, plus I like saving heracross for a later gym as it’s pretty early on to deal with it
I wanna share my thoughts here. Though generally your changes are on point I think some things need to be addressed up. 1) I personally did not like the Murkrow change, for once it does away with Falkner's main Pokemon, which would be akin to removing Brock's Onix. It's just thematically inadequate to do it. To say nothing that Murkrow is a plot significant revelation because you get to see it in Team Rocket's HQ, and as part of Ariana's team. So the Murkrow change is not good for many reasons. Pidgeotto can stay, it's a fine mon. 2) I'm of two minds regarding Scyther. I don't think giving it Wing Attack is necessary. Scyther is a 500 BST body with massive ATK and Spd and will outspeed everything found in game up to that point. It legitimately does not need another STAB move. U-Turn is already a big buff given it gets to cheap hit you for free. Changing into Metapod makes sense as it is a relatively more durable mon even if it does nothing else. That said I like the Ledyba/Spinarak changes those are fine. The rest is fine. But if possible avoid changing the main mons of each boss, it's just not good from a design standpoint.
Hey thanks for the feedback! I think your points are fair here, I think my reasoning for changing pidgeotto is that I never found this being Falkner’s ace being iconic to me personally, it was always forgettable that he used the previous generation’s route 1 bird, but at the same time those roles weren’t really established yet so idk. And yeah I agree that adding wing attack is pretty strong I might consider taking it off in the future.
I always thought Togetic would be a cool mon for Falkner, you get the Togepi egg in violet city and it's not too strong for a first gym leader. My philosophy is gameplay over lore when improving gym teams
I like these changes I would make a few changes. I think falkner could be fine just replacing pideotto with noctowl, However I think murkrow is a cool idea and makes sense. I will say tho that if you do that you should add natu since you can find one at the ruins of alph iirc (Which is right under violet city). He has all three of thier evos in the B2W2 world tournamne t so it could work. I think for Bugsy, ledyba should be evolved because it makes him a bit stronger without making him overpowered since ledian isn't that strong. Also I think spinarak could be replaced with yanma since it fits with his u turn stats and could use detect speed boost, but spinarak works tbh. I think whitney is ok, but I think clefairy could be replaced with teddiursa. Thats just me tho, and maybe you could keep clefairy so that her whole team is pink (which is pretty fun). but all around I like the changes you made 👍
These are cool changes thanks! I like Murkrow over natu here because it’s bst is much higher and serves as a better replacement to a middle stage like pidgeotto, plus I think Murkrow design fits better with what Falkner is going for. I was thinking about adding yanma but I think giving each pokemon bug/flying on the team would be a little boring especially after just facing the flying gym leader
@@OKreations I meant that falkner could use three pokemon, adding natu to the team and keeping murkrow as the ace (its fine tho if you misunderstood) Also I see what you mean about not giving bugsy all bug flying types cuz of falkner alrready being a flying gym leader (I was also thinking about that too but thought it would be fine)
I'm not a fan of removing Falkner's Pidgeotto/Pidgeot, b/c 1) he's the first-ever Flying-type Gym Leader, so him having the quintessential Flying-type for his ace is perfect, and 2) I'm usually not a fan of changing a Trainer's ace in general (but that's just my opinion). Other than that, I love these team changes!
Jigglypuff would be my choice to add to Whitney. Plus I've would added the Fairy type to the game. Personally, for me, I would add Gen 4 + a couple of things from Gen 6 to make a really enjoyable Johto.
Falkner actually has a Hoothoot in the anime. It's a physical one, though, as the only moves it uses are tackle and peck. He also has a Natu in a manga that knows Leer, Teleport, Confuse Ray, and Peck. The ongoing Pokémon manga even gives him a Pidgeotto, a Noctowl (with Foresight), and a Keen Eye Skarmory (with Swift, Agility, and Steel Wing). For the Ledyba you gave Bugsy, why would you use one with the Swarm ability, but not give it any bug-type moves? U-Turn and Bug Buzz are both available via TM and breeding, respectively. If you don't want to give it one of those, give it a different ability. Also, he actually does have a Spinarak in the anime, which knows the moves String Shot and Poison Sting. I also thought it was funny that you brought up giving Morty an Unknown, since in the aforementioned ongoing manga, Bugsy, a member of an archeology team exploring the Ruins of Alph, gets his hands on an Unknown (a G). He also has a Heracross which knows the moves Horn Attack, Megahorn, Endure, and Takedown. I have no notes for Whittney. Finally, instead of giving Morty a Stantler, even though it's more of a Hoenn pokemon, I'd use Duskull, since it's the base form of one of his Fighting Dojo team members, Dusknoir, and unlike Drifloon and Sableye, can be obtained in both Heart Gold and Soul Silver if you just go to the Safari Zone after a certain number of days of gaining the block point system.
Thanks for the feedback I like all of your points here, yeah I def should’ve put early bird on the ledyba that’s my b! I feel like putting a pidgey instead of the hoothoot might’ve been okay since you already fight a decent hoothoot in the sprout tower against elder li. Yeah duskull would be fun I just wanted to only use Kanto and Johto mons
Personally I would give Faulkner Skarmory as his ace. Everyone says it's too strong but at level 13 it just knows Peck and Swift and Roost lol. I think Mareep and Cyndaquil shouldn't struggle too much with it.
I guess that would be fair but I think skarmory’s bst is too high for gym 1, I think Murkrow is a great balance, plus what if the player doesn’t have cyndaquil or mareep
@@OKreations Then Geodude and Onix both still do neutral Rock damage while Skarmory doesn't know a steel move so it can't hit back. The whole point of gyms is to go in prepared, if you don't go in with a pokemon that is good against Flying types, that's on you lol.
Ngl Skarmory doesn't sound too bad. Still weak to electric, doesn't resist water or rock and is weak to fire. Just giving it a few weak moves doesn't seem like a bad idea
I do want to note, you said that Aipom doesn't fit Whitney's character, but Aipom was originally going to be her ace, and the reason she wears a sort of baseball uniform
Snubbull totally fits tho I love my pup
Oh huh I had no idea!
@@OKreations I know this is about 4 months later, but yeah that do be the case. Though to be more precise, it's a softball inspired outfit (basically baseball, but with only underhand pitches), which is also explained by an NPC in B2/W2s Pokemon World Tournament area.
Aipom and Furret fit Whitney’s aesthetic Perfectly, especially considering their shinies.
Source?
Wing attack on technician scyther would be incredibly strong for a second gym
Yeahhhh I wanted to make a change just to change something for scyther but I do agree with you there, i think if I make the rom hack for this I won’t include wing attack
My favorite idea for Morty is just literally giving him every Ghost type in the game at that point lol, so he keeps his Gastly, but replaces a Haunter with Misdreavus. Gastly while being frail, really packs a dangerous punch especially for a first-stage Pokemon.
for GSC I would've done Haunter-Misdreavus-Gengar, and in HGSS I would've done Misdreavus-Haunter-Mismagius.
I don't get why Chuck has 2 pokémon while earlier gym leader Morty has 4 for zero reason.
For that level, he could just have had Misdreavus-Haunter-Gengar.
@@nesradub360that wouldn’t work, fantinas ace is mismagius
@@okay8659 which is weird, since Drifblim is the main Gen IV ghost. It should be Drifblim imo. Also Agatha's ace is Gengar, so he already has a repeat ace anyway.
Yeah that first turn Curse is a nuisance!
Here's what I would do for these gym leaders:
FALKNER: Hoothoot/Pidgeotto
BUGSY: Scyther/Ledyba/Spinarak
WHITNEY: Snubbull/Miltank
MORTY: Haunter/Misdreavus/Gengar [GSC] / Misdreavus/Haunter/Mismagius [HGSS] - I think they should've added ALL relevant gen IV evos to the HGSS Johto Dex
That’s fair! The real reason I wasn’t a fan of that was because it would be doing such little damage being a special move
I like the teddiursa that would’ve been a good choice too!
Adding a Furret to her team would make Whitney way more powerful than she needs to be
Idk why but I’m just not seeing the furret work for me, maybe it’s just cuz it’s not pink? I understand it being somewhat cute but it’s not like a cuddly lil guy like clefairy and snubbull ya know?
The shiny for Furret is pink.@@OKreations
Murkrow with pursuit in the first gym is a bit too much imo. The player shouldn't be deincentivized to switch their pokemon in battle in gym 1. The move being used in gym 3-4 to teach the player that sometimes, switching can be punished, is a better lesson in gane design. The player would have learned that hey, don't be afraid to switch to a better pokemon when your current one isn't suited for the task, then impart them with a lesson to be careful though, as some pokemon can take advantage of this and punish your decision, so be strategic when switching.
You know what yeah I agree with that! Maybe I stick thief there instead?
I think if I had to not do Murkrow, I think noctowl would be the move it’s a fun idea!
I'm loving this series, and I love that it's trying to remain consistent with the actual games and not create any crazy difficulty rom level teams. As someone who mostly just plays the base games every once in a while, I appreciate this approach! Great work and much love
Thanks so much dood I appreciate it! I’m currently working on the rom hack
First time anyone has ever said Ledian is to strong for anything
Everything explained in the beginning of the video is exactly why I'm working on my own ROM, fixing weird level scaling, improving gyms, moves etc too. Thanks for this video, really helps inspire how to improve things
Amazing! Good luck! I’m working on one myself! DS rom hacking is tough
@OKreations Certainly a lot of effort, going through every route, trainer and stat block takes a toll lol. Good luck with yours too, hopefully comes out well :D
Thanks so much dood! It’s been fun tho haha
About whitney, bayleef also does an incredible job against her.
To me, whitney was a breath of fresh air after falkner and bugsy 🤣🤣
Whitney is never hard for me xD
I simply pull a Page of her book and annoy her with Paralysis, Leech Seed and headbutt hax xD
@@Acacius1992yeah but imagine being a kid in the early 2000s with no warning of the unholy death cow that you’re about to face off against.
I think Unown could be usable on Morty's team if it was always ghost and it was an M for Morty, and it held a Choice Specs
That could’ve been a good addition! I think it would’ve been fun if the hidden power it had was random
Morty's Japanese name also starts with "M" ("Matsuba"), so it works pretty well.
Your team for Bugsy is just what I was thinking for him! I like all of your ideas, though!
Amazing glad to hear it!
Fun thought!
Tera fairy miltank let's goooooo
@@ymn9738 Don’t know who I didn’t even think of that! Ok perfect solution.
MandJTV did this idea as well, but it’s great to hear other people share their take on it!
Awesome!
It's not like there's some monopoly on fixing Johto.
@@robertlupa8273 I’m aware of that, that’s why the second half of my comment says as much.
5:58 I like that you have the daytime and nighttime bugs. It showcases the day night changes in environment
Its about time the Johto leaders got a proper glow up
Ikrrrr
You're smoking something, Furret is fluffy and cute which would perfectly suit a girl who cries to losing.
That’s fair idk why I’m not seeing it but maybe I really just see normal types that turn fairy later work better for her but idk
Love that Morty has a Stantler on his team, it works so well, I had a Stantler in Gold and it was very powerful. Also he could add a Girafarig maybe.
I was thinking of Girafarig too!
Milktank is still giving me nightmare from childhood haha
Miltank will never stop haunting us😂
Clefairy and snubbull evolution line is a fairy type now!
Same thing, this is in HGSS, where fairy didn’t exist yet
I dont know if anyone else commented on this, but the music looping in the Whitney section is torture.
I’m sorry to hear that! I believe I’ve since stopped looping tracks like that. Thanks for the feedback! Always trying to improve🫡
For Falkner you could also trade your Bellsprout for an Onix in the same town you battle him in.
Very true!
@@OKreations tbf I tried it and Onix didn't obey me 😭
Oh yeahhh😂
Falkner is paying for the sins... of himself in GSC where him just spamming Mud-Slap (which not only lowers your accuarcy, not only deals damage, but also is supereffective against most popular starter) made that version of him one of the hardest first gym leaders ever. Like seriously, signature move that deals damage and makes you miss is exactly the way to kill any desire to play pokemon again among young kids just picking up those games.
One of the reasons why Storm Silver and Sacred Gold are masterpieces is because they fixed Johto very well
I highly can also recommend Crystal Legacy
My teams are based on GSC instead of HGSS:
Falkner: Level 7 Pidgey, Level 9 Pidgeotto
Bugsy: Level 14 Metapod, Level 14 Kakuna, Level 16 Scyther
Whitney: Level 18 Clefairy, Level 20 Miltank
Morty: Level 21 Gastly, Level 23 Haunter, Level 25 Gengar, Level 25 Gengar
Yes. I gave Morty two Level 25 Gengar. The first one will use Hypnosis+Dream Eater and the second one will use Hypnosis+Nightmare. I kept the cocoons on Bugsy's team but his Scyther should have known Focus Energy in GSC.
I’ve always liked the idea of giving Morty a koffing because of the burned tower which is the first place we meet him
Fun idea!
My changes:
Falkner - Natu and Pidgey (day) - Hoothoot and Murkrow (night)
Bugsy - Spinarak, Ledian and Scyther
Whitney - Furret, Aipom and Miltank (cute pokémon but not gived fairy type)
Morty - Misdreavus, Stantler and Gengar (yeah, three pokémon)
Wow I really like the idea of giving Falkner a day or night team
Stantler is not a Ghost-type, it's a Normal-type!
I’m well aware😁
@@Amelia4111based on Pokedex entry/lore and it's design it makes more sense to be part ghost than the hundredth pure normal type like furret Milktank and urasing
You could have also chosen Teddiursa for Whitney as well it fits the cute theme
This is true, I think snubbull fits it better tho!
great video! one of my favorites. i've seen some of this type of changes and by far, this is the most accurate for me. can't wait for part 2
Thanks so much for the feedback I’m glad to hear it! Part 2 coming out next week!
Great video I really want to see the part 2 :)
And like usual here's the **TEXT WALL** of my opinion/personal changes:
(yes I do have lots of fun writing all of this as I actually do research on movesets, etc..)
>Falkner
I really like giving him Murkrow and I was first going to say that falkner should have Noctowl but then I remembered that Murkrow stats are actually pretty good for a first form pkmn so yeah I don't have any changes to say xd.
Side note: I would give the oran berry to hoothoot as murkrow will already be spamming roost regardless... making the bery almost useless probably.
>Bugsy
-I have many problems with Scyther I'll try to keep it simple:
Quick attack at this point coming from scyther speed and attack with a possible focus energy is beyond dangerous, specially when nothing the player has actually outspeeds it making a counter attack with quick attack unlikely, instead scyther should have Hm Cut, would be something more unique and fitting considering you get it right after beating bugsy.
>Whitney
I really want to replace clefairy with Cleffa here xd.
>Morty
I was at first thinking that Unown shouldn't be in the team but actually the idea of it being a random hidden power sounds cool (perhaps should even be something that the game autochanges based on what pokemon is on the field... basically becoming a counter to whatever you currently have on... or just be a fixed dark type HP to counter psychic and ghosts).
By Morty I think gym leaders should start using more than a single held item, here's my idea:
-To start off let's not replace Gastly with Misdreavus and instead let's change gastly utility, the moveset should be Confuse Ray, disable, Ominous Wind and Trick.. also giving this gastly a item like sticky barb to trade with the enemy for their item, it's a almost never used item and gastly can't do much else at this point in game so I don't see a reason not to make a little trickster.
Omg that’s wild😂 good on you
Amazing video, will you make a video fixing the second gen Kanto leaders?? That would be a lot of work, but always bothers me to see Blue using his regular team and not adjust to the original Ground-Type Gym
I’m considering it at the moment, but I’m feeling like it wouldn’t be as necessary, but I’ll think about it!
You know you make all these really cool changes to gym leaders and elite 4, bro you need to make a rom download, I'd love to play against these much more difficult gym leaders
Great idea! Thanks!
It'd be really cute if Falkners dad came up later in the game, maybe as an optional boss, with a Honchkrow. Maybe he adopted a Honchkrow who's Murkrow son went to Falkner.
That would be so dope
That’s fair enough, I think for me it’s pretty egregious that Falkner doesn’t have a gen 2 flying type on his team at the very least
I feel like it falkner's ace would've been alright if it were a kanto flying-type that wasn't very well represented, but everyone knows about blue's pidgeot, so :|
Pokémon needs to have gym leaders stop being monotypes and instead have a team that matches their vibes/environment
Troooo
Love this can’t wait for part 2
Teams I would pick.
Gym 1: mucrow and impossible noctowl.
Gym 2: ledian spinarak and Scyther.
Gym 3: clafairy teddiuraa milktank.
Gym 4: mistridus Gengar haunter and stantler for coverage
Gym 5 hymochop poliwrath heracross and machoke
Gym 6: skarmory steelix magniton fortress. So much coverage now.
Gym 7: weavil(or sneasil) delibird dewgong momoswine(line) would be strong
Gym 8: kindra dragonair garados mantine and another Dragonair to give you a major challenge
Mantine is a fun pick I like that!
To really balance those teams out
Yeah x and y is a mess and would probably take a lot longer to find what they could use
1:00 there's the onix that you trade for a bellsprout too
Yeah I totally forgot about that! Thanks!
Pls, do with the Kanto post game too
You know you can get all the way to the Lake of Rage before Morty and get a Girafarig, which is the best hard counter to him.
I would love to see a version of the game played like that
lol the subscribe joke
EDIT: the Unown one was even better :D
Thanks dood🫡😂
I still think snulbull could have ice fang instead of fire fang to counter geoduedes and onix. Ice and thunder could hurt a lot of Pokemon
Good point!
This has HGSS in mind. But a let’s go version could be cool!
This is the first time I've heard of toost removing the flying type 💀
I always thought that whole "pokemon lands to rest" bit was flavor text wth
Yeah isn’t that so cool! It’s such a cool mechanic to me, and if corvisquire uses the move, that means it becomes typeless!
Here's what I did, although I went off of post-gen 6 rules and also Megas:
•Falkner: The Pidgey line feels too crucial to Falkner to remove, but I did add in a Hoothoot for vibe-matching Johto rep and because I loathe the concept of gym leaders having less than three Pokemon.
Fun ideas!

90 BP Wing Attack this early in the game is kinda insane ngl
If you’re referring to the Scyther, it’s there in base game too!

I wish the nintendo remake made changes to the level curve and pokemon used by trainers! And focused on Johto more, allowing us to actually catch the gen 2 mons! This gen could have been top tier if they did that!
I agree!
I have an idea for bugsy. He’d have 3 Pokémon, but the other 2 are spinarak and parasect. I picked parasect to teach that some Pokémon have weaknesses that do more damage than normal and spinarak is adorable.
I do like the parasect pick that’s a fun one
I would give every leader three mons:
Falkner: Pidgey, Pidgey, Pidgeotto
Bugsy: Kakuna, Metapod, Scyther
Whitney: Clefairy, Doduo, Miltank
Morty: Gastly, Haunter, Gengar
(I'd rather give Snubbull/Granbull to Morty rather than to Whitney, and instead of giving him a Stantler)
0:55 There is also Onix trade (won't listen though) and obviously Unowns also can have SE Hidden Power.
I would have left Falkner his Pigeotto, but you fixed the teams very well 👍🏻✨
Thanks so much I appreciate it! Like your ideas as well
@@OKreationsThanks for taking my ideas into account. In my case I would give Falkner a Natu, Morty would have Murkrow instead of Stantler and I would give Whitney a Aipom.
Even so, I insist that your ideas are much better and I regret that the Gold/Silver games were not like that 👌🏻✨
Nice!
Love the feraligatr idea that’s fun! Cool suggestions, I think you’ll like part 2, comes out friday
Clicked for the thumbnail... Looks so awesome 👌🏼
Thanks so much I appreciate it!
Imagine Whitney's Miltank holding a metronome.
I don’t really see that being better necessarily with it wanting to use milk drink to heal up
@@OKreations while using milk drink would reset the damage, during the turns it is locked into rollout, it will do even more damage than before, making it need to heal less.
Ahhh yeah that would be pretty good
something I did well with Whitney is cheesing Dunsparce + Rage
RAAAAAAAGE GAMING
Love the furret and Ninetales picks here
Also if I was making new teams for the rest of the gym leaders:
Chuck - Hitmontop, Primeape, Sudowoodo, Poliwrath (I just wanna say that I love that smithplays added sudowoodo to his team. It also makes it so that bruno can have heracross on his team)
Jasmine - Skarmory, Magneton, Foretress, Steelix
Pryce - Dewgong, Sneasel, Jynx, Mamoswine
Claire - Dragonair(x2), Gyarados, Lapras, Kingdra
Also you could keep the corsola and cloyster jasmine and pryce get in thier crystal legacy teams, or maybe make it so depending who you fight first will have 4 pokemon and the one you fight after will have 5 (or make them both have 5 regardless).
Clair does not end with an E!
@@OKreations You can get Cubone in the Goldenrod Game Corner as a reward, I think.
I’m pretty sure it’s just the version exclusive of ekans or Sandshrew, then Abra and Dratini
@@OKreations Nope, you can get it in all versions in Rock Tunnel apparently
Er, the game corner award might be a version exclusive, idk, but you can find it in all three games!
You should’ve given Whitney a Teddiurza!
I think the snubbul works just as well!
Honestly think pidgy and noctowl for Faulkner would be good and demonstrate the day and night mechanic.
Pidgey* (left off the E), Falkner* (there is no U)
Fair that’s a cool team right there!
for morty i've always thought alongside misdreavus, he should have either a dunsparce or an eevee or both to replace the haunters, both can learn shadow ball and dunsparce is based on a mythical creature tsuchinoko which ties in to morty's obsession with legends while eevee can reference the ecruteak dance theatre, for bugsy and whitney, i try to keep their pokemon mostly johto based so ledian and yanma for bugsy instead of kakuna and metapod, its not like ledian is that powerful and give whitney teddiursa and snubbull and get rid of clefairy, for falkner a spearow and underleveled noctowl
I would've seen Xatu or Houndour being on Morty's team honestly
I think Whitney should have Cleffa, Igglybuff and Miltank. The baby pokemon are perfect for her. They are newly introduced, she is right by the day care and she loves cute pokemon. They may be weak, but clefairy isn't that strong either.
Togepi would've been a great call honestly, it's the symbol of baby Pokémon
@@willgpb_ Togepi would fit great as well. Didn't even think about that
That’s a really fun idea that would’ve been a cool fight to get!
I just want morty to have a hisuian typhlosian
Would be a good pick if it was in gen 4!
You’ve improved from the first team fixing video!
Thanks so much I appreciate the feedback!
I adore this video
I appreciate the love!
i think bugsy should have a yanma because he’s the authority of bug pokemon and it would show off a rare pokemon to the player
I could see where you’re coming from on this, could make it a little more interesting!
@@OKreations i do love the changes overall tho
Thanks I appreciate it👍
To be fair I feel like the level scaling was improved in the remakes.
They didn’t fix it enough if they did😂
I think you missed an opportunity to pay homage to gen 1 and give Morty a Marowak.
I see where you’re coming from there
Considering HGSS i would definitely put a Mismagius on Morty's team.
Fair enough! I think gym 4 might be slightly too early and kinda overlaps with Fantina but that’s not a big deal Fantina is 3rd gym in platinum
Do you plan on doing a romhack? I believe you should 😃. While also trying to upgrade the rival while you're at it.
I do! Good call
Can you please make videos on the detailed step by step process of editing any pokemon game (you can take the basic example of Pokemon FireRed)? If possible, also make video on adding rematches of gym leaders.
Hey! What do you mean a step by step?
@@OKreations I mean from the basics so that a beginner can also easily make his or her own edited games.
There are tutorials out there to do it!
Falkner = Same Team
Bugsy = Yanma, Shuckle and Heracross
Whitney = Lickitung, Girafarig and Miltank
Morty = Haunter, Misdreavus and Gengar
Fun idea!
Ok you were struggling to fit missing no into the team. What if you were to give it an additional item to compensate?
Wdym fit missing no into the team?
The crazy thing is every time I see a video like this I just remembered that the anime did it perfectly.
So troo
10:13 you can also get a girafarig which completely cheeses Morty 😭
That’s also a good point haha
Thats just me tho, and maybe you could keep clefairy so that her whole team is pink (which is pretty fun).
but all around I like the changes you made 👍
I actually think Natu is a better fit for Falkner than Murkrow actually. I usually choose it when I'm remaking these teams in my imagination
@@OKreations I meant that falkner could use three pokemon, adding natu to the team and keeping murkrow as the ace (its fine tho if you misunderstood)
Also I see what you mean about not giving bugsy all bug flying types cuz of falkner alrready being a flying gym leader (I was also thinking about that too but thought it would be fine)
That’s fair I understand that! Thanks for the feedback!
Come to think, did Morty have a Stantler on Pokémon Stadium 2? I can't remember
No I think he had a Girafarig!
@@OKreations yeah, I looked it up and it was a Girafarig, my bad
All good👍
Jigglypuff would be my choice to add to Whitney. Plus I've would added the Fairy type to the game. Personally, for me, I would add Gen 4 + a couple of things from Gen 6 to make a really enjoyable Johto.
I think for this, I’m working within the limitation of the game, so no buffing pokemon or adding fairy type in this scenario, but fun idea!
@OKreations oh I see, so Jigglypuff was still robbed lol. Haha she's so Whitney 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah pretty much haha!
Yeah fair enough haha!
Ngl Skarmory doesn't sound too bad. Still weak to electric, doesn't resist water or rock and is weak to fire. Just giving it a few weak moves doesn't seem like a bad idea
Not bad but I would like to see it be used somewhere else instead
My Johto gym leaders roster would be
Falkner:
Natu Lv 10
Murkrow Lv 11
Noctowl Lv 13
Bugsy:
Ledyba (Day) Lv 13
Or
Spinarak (Night) Lv 13
Pineco Lv 14
Yanma Lv 14
Scyther Lv 16
Whitney:
Snubull Lv 19
Aipom Lv 18
Teddiursa Lv 19
Miltank Lv 21
Morty:
Gastly Lv 23
Haunter Lv 24
Misdreavous Lv 25
Gengar Lv 26
Love it!
Oh no he buffed Whitney.
