If you do this, you will be the first person in history to every repair the dual tanks not working, lol. I just started the video, but I believe you will get them working. But this has just been a topic among me and my friends about how nobody ever fixes the dual tanks. I do appreciate people that put stuff back 100% stock, in working order. So, just our of curiosity I'm going to learn why people don't and how to do it.
@JeepinJimmy yeah I don't blame you on that. I just commented, because I've been around those trucks for years. I daily drove 3, my dad and brother atleast about another 3 each. This was about 20 years ago and none of us had both tanks, lol.
I have a 78 C10 with dual tanks and the dude I bought it off did a hack job removing the drivers side tank and just had passenger side working. it was a hell of an ordeal to figure out wiring and what he did but I'm proud to say I got both tanks working properly. great video. thanks for sharing.
@@raychev1969 well I'm not the one that made the video, but yeah I have messed with and driven several square body trucks, and they have all had the dual tank setup that did not work. and yeah they were all set up to use the driver side tank only.
Excellent video. Thanks for showing us your truck. I have to do this to 4 of my 7 Squarebody trucks. Working on my 86 GMC K3500 3+3 right now. I bought all new fuel tanks and all the pieces. Can’t wait to get started on this.
So i just bought an 84 k10 and the first thing i gotta do is replace both tanks, the selector valve, and all the fuel hoses, your video gave me a better idea on what to expect, thanks!
I ran all over looking for the rubber hoses too. LMC Truck has a kit with 1/4, 5/16, and 3/8 hoses and decent spring clamps to go with them. I think its like 2-3 feet of the hose and enough clamps. The chinesiun clamps in town are junk and cannot be trusted. Happy truckin thanks for vid.
Perfect timing. Just bought an 85 and the right tank pulls fuel but the gauge is pinned to full and the left tank doesn’t pull fuel at all. Not sure where to start but I’m gonna do everything you did and hope for the best!
Question I have a 1983 c10 dual tank and the driver side wasn’t working so I replaced the fuel selector switch and the fuel sending unit but it’s still not working. It kinda reads it right but whenever I switch it over it turns off. Idk what it could be. Im going to replace the fuel sending unit again and the pig tail connector and see if it that works but do you any other ideas what it could be
Hey man Im about to do the sending units on a chevy c10 85 i just notice both are the same part number will that be a problem? Is it two different sending units?
your videos are very well done !great camera shots off all the actual work being done
I appreciate that!

Best video of this 👌🏽 Thank you!
Thanks!!
If you use some kilmat on the straps, it should help with the shifting as well protecting the paint on your new tank
love the truck man!
Thanks dude!
Great content, very helpful, thank you!
Thanks!
Thanks I have a 1975 k10 and the dual tanks gave me some issues
Right on! Hope the video helps!
I crave your guidance, I want to add a second tank to my cucv. Who sells the switcher and the switch

Would you know where to get the metal lines ? I have a 1984 3500 and can't find any ....
Man I just did a quick search myself and could not come up with anything!
Use brake line tubing from your auto parts store. Get the bending tool. Make your own lines. It's old school.
I have to do this. Thanks
You got it!

You should be able to hear an audible click when you hit your switch
@@JeepinJimmy I hear a switch but nothing comes out
I forgot. Where did you find the dual tank switch valve? Thanks in advance.
LMC Truck
What website did you find the selector valve?

Flowmaster Super 44s

Right on! Until you have to fill both haha
