Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I've been going crazy trying to find material that matched what's in my truck, this was what I needed. Straight forward, no rambling about unnecessary bs. Perfect.
Thank you for this. Just bought an 88 k5 and apparently that block melted before I bought it. Truck still runs but certain things aren’t working but this will be fun redoing.
This is just what i needed except for a 88 obs 4x4 looks almost identical but wires are in different spots such a shame cant seem to find the bulkhead diagram for it anywhere. I may be able to cross reference some of the different colored wires.
Which wire supplies power to the gauge cluster? I believe there's 1 wire that powers all the gauges. Gotta find it somehow, gauges are dead. Confirmed it's not the ground.
Glad this helped! Sorry, I’ve been away from for a couple months for work. I’m just now starting back on the LS swap. I’ll be getting into the wiring more in the next couple weeks. Probably try to post more videos on the wiring process as I get into it.
I was about to say whitch truck u got that gots all those wires in the bulk head every time i due a ls swap in c10 its only one or 2 for cab power and constant and one wire purple to starter and the 12 v ingition powerd switch yellow wire 4 ahhhh i seee tbi
Yeah, TBI has lots of different stuff to monitor, etc. I basically eliminated everything from the bulkhead except for 3 or 4 wires for 12v constant, switch power and purple starter wire.
Hey, I noticed you're not using the term "fusible link" correctly. Not understanding them could have disastrous consequences. They are a failsafe against electrical fires.
Yes, calling it a fusible link is incorrect. I think it really is just a power junction block. It is black diamond shaped and mounted on the firewall between the driver side of the engine and the brake booster.
Best thing to do is to take all that off and start over from the fuse block instead of trying to figure out all that crap out all the wires on the fuse block are the hots the u bride from the fuses

Great video brother! Thanks so much! My gauge cluster has no power and I can not figure it out. Maybe one of the wires?

Thank you so much for this. You gonna make anymore videos of the LS swap wiring? I'm also doing an LS swap in a 88 suburban V20.

What's the difference between the V10 and the R10. I have an 88 R10.
Pretty sure the only difference between V10 and R10 is the "V" represents 4WD and the "R" represents 2WD. Hope this helps.
@@markwestbrook7834 I kind of thought so but wanted to be sure. Thanks 👍
