Finally finished my complete audio overhaul for this build! The result is so much better than before, thanks to all the tips from the community. Can't wait to see your builds too!
Bro this was an incredible video and a master class install! Thanks for sharing your knowledge - and helping me see how much Ive underachieved in life!!!!
Is there any way you can provide part numbers for this stuff ? I like this setup and want to put it in my 1985 scottsdale. Hopefully the bass blows off some rust under the frame 😬
Hey great video I like the idea for the back can corner pieces how did you like the fit on the driver side kick panel I hear it blocks the vents in the non ac trucks
@GreaseMonkeyTV - thanks for the great video! Are you happy with the sound quality from the Kicker 10"? It sounds like you can get the seat all the way back with out issues, is this correct? Do you think the seat would go back with the 12" version? Thanks!
@shadowknows42 In my truck I have carpet on the back wall of the cab but it can't take up more than 1/4" of space. The box fits and the seat goes all the way back. I do have some marks on the back of the seat where the speaker surrounds rub when I have it turned up. I bought some metal speaker grilles off Amazon and it looks like they will help once I have them installed. I also noticed when my seat is all the way back the drivers sides goes back slightly more than the passenger side if that's of any help.
Hey so I am knew to audio and I have been using this video as a reference for my 86 k10 but I have a question. So you have the IX500.1 on one side of the box at 12:36 but why's that other amp on the other side? Would I need to buy 2 amps if I was to get this subwoofer? If so what kind of amp is it so I can get it for my truck.
Looking to do a similar setup in my square. I’m 6’3” and need the seat alllll the way back. Does that sub box make contact with the seat at all? I’m considering that 10” setup or possibly going two of the 8” version.
do u recommend this brand for this model? or would Skar also work out perfectly? (or is it just cheaper but also good quality?) i bought a 1987 square body chevy and looking forward to putting subs in it and im not sure what exactly

Growing up, we put 4 10’s behind the seat
Absolutely incredible job brother! 💪 Watching helps me learn. 💯 Love the channel. Thank you 🙏
the AMP trade LOL you have to be quick to get that. LOLLLLLLLLL
Great job
Looks great!
Great deal and sounds
I think that I’m going to use your idea in my 83!!!
Thankyou
I want to build the speaker cabinets myself for the behind the bench seat corners for a custom fit.
Excellent!

I got a 85 custom deluxe
What’s gauges are those. I like those
NVU
Actually Kicker "Did" make a K-Series Amp. I have KXA 800.1 but they replaced it with the CX. BTW not terrible for a DIY job.
Looks great! Thanks for the info, I should be starting my build shortly. Where did you get the gages and panel?

I really wanna do the sound system in my squarebody, How much did all of this cost? Minus the head unit

No issues.
Whats better restrosound, custom auto sound, or whatever the brand is???
This is the only one of these I’ve tried. Gone straight Bluetooth on the other builds.
What is the gauge cluster model or part number at LMC? I like it.

It sounds pretty good. Not tuned ported enclosure good but close. Seat goes all the way back. 12” version would not allow that.
Is there any clearance between the speaker / resonates and the seat back? If so how much?

The amp on the right is for the front speakers.
@@GreaseMonkeyTV ohh alright that makes sense, thank you 🙏
should i get the ksc40s or the ksc35 cause its a 3.5 instead of a 4?
3.5 if you don’t want to fab anything.
Do the kick panels install over the existing panels, or replace them entirely?
Over.
can you still move your seat all the way back
Not all the way.

Speakers make contact w the seat vinyl. I’d probably do a ported 8” enclosure vs this.
@@GreaseMonkeyTV Thanks for the reply!
how did you attach the board to the cab?
It's not attached. Maybe re-watch how its made to sit against the back wall.
Did you have to cut the dash to fit the 4 inch speaker? It looks like it fit right into the original bracket.
I had to modify the drivers side bracket. Passenger side had to mount the speaker from underneath the bracket vs top side.

Never tried any Skar products.
