Nancy and Stacy are truly fun loving and beautiful teenage girls, they are truly best friends too. I'm just relieved and very grateful that they are both still alive from this muddy accident.
I used to hate how my parents were always nagging us to put on seatbelts but I'm so grateful they did. By the time i started driving it was routine. To many people who don't know how to drive or don't care who they hurt while driving carelessly.
I suffered a severe car accident in March 2018 and I can relate to the memory loss because I don’t remember mine either. That Impact can get you real good. Like her another driver was driving reckless and was only concerned about her car, she tried to drive away but she couldn’t because her car was damaged from the impact. So she told police that it was my fault and tried to make it my fault, so I would pay for the damages to her car. She didn’t come near me or tried to hold my head up in the car, I didn’t come out so lucky. I fractured my shoulder blade, lower spine, pelvis in 3 places, left hip and left knee was mangled. I was told I may never walk again, 2 months later. I’m up walking and riding horses again. I am happy she came out Alive and she had an Angel looking out for her.
This is in my homestate. I'm in Birmingham. This is near the southern terminus of I-65, which ends on I-10 a few miles down from where this accident took place. I can tell the southern accent of the people. I love the way they're praying for her. 🙏🙏🙏
I agree, because that scumbag in red car treated roads like racetracks, like if he's a nascar or formula 1 driver, but thanks be to God that the girls were on their feet
I don’t have children of my own but I know that girl must be everything to her mother and father. The appreciation they have for their daughter’s life is so evident.
One of only 2 stories that occurred in my state. Strangely enough, I was in Mobile the day before this happened. 6 months of probation is not enough punishment, and that's an understatement. Leaving the scene of an accident is a serious offense. The other story in Alabama took place 45 miles southeast of here in Gulf Shores, when the teenage girl fell several stories to the ground.
Jeez, the young guy in the red car just left without even helping Brent by those poor teenage girls out of the mud in the upside down blue car. He should definitely behind bars in jail.
The guy in the red car should have gone to prison for 15 years. He left the scene of the accident. Why do people get away with these accidents and not have to pay?? You drive recklessly and hurt someone . You need to go to prison.
Whomever the lunatic was driving that red car. Should never be allowed to get behind the wheel of automobile ever again. The fact that he just leaves the scene of an accident that he caused, is reason enough.
The justice system doesn’t show justice. It shows mercy unnecessarily. Sometimes mercy works well with someone, but in some cases, it gust gives someone an opportunity to keep doing what they’re doing. 6 months probation is nothing for someone who recklessly drives and then leaves the scene once an accident is caused due to their negligence. I see drivers like this every day on the interstate and turnpike. Some drivers pass by me so fast that the wind actually pulls my vehicle towards them. If they had hit me from behind, I would probably have been dead. We have no idea how close to death we can be on a daily basis.
4:04 good thing there are some passengers in the highway stopped by and helping Brent by getting Stacy and Nancy out of the upside down car and this yucky dirty mud that they are trapped in. I really do love those people who truly cared about helping two people who are in trouble and in danger that was very grateful and a very good deed for what they did back there.
6 years is not enough. He should have gotten 31 years in addition to that that is hit and run Shouldnt be behind the wheel of any motorised vehicle ever
1:31 Husband : He's driving like an idiot. Me: I have to agree with Brent the husband on that, the guy who is driving in the red car is driving so recklessly he truly is an complete IDIOT!!! I agree with Brent on this.
He could've helped the two girls, but he was so concerned about his car that he fled the scene. Plus he only got six months probation for that! He should've gotten a jail sentence!
The location is still shown today! I go through the interstate, and see where the incident occurred many years ago. And Medic 18 of Mobile, AL is now Rescue 18. However, Rescue 18 changed the unit number to Rescue 12 in 2018.
Airport Boulevard is in that vicinity, and there's too much traffic on that road. That road was not designed well either. Traffic is coming from the interstate, the airport, and the University of South Alabama, plus the nearby service roads.
Well... my friends mother died because of a set belt in 1994. And my friend went to the ER because her seat belt had cut through her chest. So that was kinda pompous to say of that doctor. Many people are injured by seat belts every day
Today marked the 31st anniversary of when it happened. Nancy is now 46 years old. I think Nancy and Stacey are still together. When I saw them injured I was horrified.
I know them too. Graduated with them. I remember when it happened, it was horrible. I remember when the episode aired, I couldn't watch a lot of it because that was my friend there in that mud. Nancy seems to be doing great. Haven't talked to her in years tho.
that young boy shouldnt have a car because He may not even be adult yet and doesnt even care someoneschurt and could be hospitalised or paralised fir the rest of Her life
It’s been 28 years since this happened so Nancy is 43 now. I want to go shopping now but the corona virus has to go away first. It terrified me when the car flipped over into the ditch. I thought Stacy would be paralyzed for life or dead. Who does that man think he is driving too fast? Brent and Kathy are heroes. If they weren’t around, Stacy and Nancy wouldn’t be here to this day. I’m sure they thanked them.
The doctor who said people who wear seatbelts don’t come to the emergency room is a joke just because you wear a seatbelt doesn’t mean you can’t get injured
Untrue about the statement people don't show up to the ER who wear a seat belt I've seen people that have been wearing a seat belt be taking to the emergency room for lacerations received from a seat belt in accident
'People who wear their seatbelts dont come to the emergency room' Yeah thats a fuckin lie lmao Prime time of no airbag cars and no strong pillar crumple zones but the seatbelt is gonna stop all that
It’s sick and disgusting to leave the scene of a accident. He deserves to go to prison .
That’s a hit and run
I totally agree 💯
It's also illegal
@@nicholasthompson7690 He only got six months probation.
Agreed! He was more concerned about his car than he was about Stacey and Nancy. 🤦♂ Only six months of probation for that?! Seriously?!
Nancy and Stacy are truly fun loving and beautiful teenage girls, they are truly best friends too. I'm just relieved and very grateful that they are both still alive from this muddy accident.

Why would someone be more concerned about their car over someone else's life? Forget your car, your car can be fixed or replaced
I have no idea. He could've helped them, but instead he just drove off. 🤦♂
I suffered a severe car accident in March 2018 and I can relate to the memory loss because I don’t remember mine either. That Impact can get you real good.

Good work fellers. Glad both survived. Outstanding work
6 months probation not good enough
Especially only being charged with leaving the scene, he was driving recklessly.
I agree, because that scumbag in red car treated roads like racetracks, like if he's a nascar or formula 1 driver, but thanks be to God that the girls were on their feet
Nowhere near enough. At least ten years.
I don’t have children of my own but I know that girl must be everything to her mother and father. The appreciation they have for their daughter’s life is so evident.

Idk but I really love southern girls. They are super nice.

Death penalty

It is a miracle.
Glad all those people were there trying to help

I just can't believe it he just left without even helping anyone.
He's a coward. He should have got a stronger sentence than that for causing an accident and fleeing like a wuss.
I would so charge that guy in the red car for reckless driving and fleeting after the hit and run
If I was the prosecutor , He definitely would also be charged with vehicular assault and attempted murder
Not going to do that angel brook
This is my home town and unfortunately people still drive like that...
6 years is not enough.

6 months probation.
I can't believe she was COVERED in mud that way! 😟
I would definitely puke if I see someone in that unsanitary state. No insults or anything
6th months probation. Thats a slap on the wrist considering all the lives he had been putting at risk
6 months of probation is a slap on the wrist. The man should've gotten jail time

that young boy shouldnt have a car because He may not even be adult yet and doesnt even care someoneschurt and could be hospitalised or paralised fir the rest of Her life
That was basically a hit and run.
Yeah that was a 400 pound lawnmower vs a 2 thousand pound car or whatever.
what the hell they lost Her pulsse like what the hell you have to have a heartbeat and be breathing and a pulse to be alive
Today’s the 30th anniversary of when this happened so Nancy is 45. This happened on a Sunday. I don’t know what age Stacey is.
thank God thank lord She was concous

Where is the parents at or growing up
The doctor who said people who wear seatbelts don’t come to the emergency room is a joke just because you wear a seatbelt doesn’t mean you can’t get injured
Well in this case she wouldn't have fallen out and the car on top of her.

Near by is maybe 5 or 10 minute drive
That mall is not that near by.
Yes it is. 8 minutes and 2.6 miles. This was literally at the foot on the Dauphin St ramp. The next exit is Airport and the mall is right there.
@Chris Bradley it's 2.6 miles he doesn't know shit
To me near by is a 3 minute drive
