The operator tried to explain it, by saying people often ring up exaggerating injuries to get help quicker - she said 'someone says they're bleeding to death, and it's just a little cut'. I think if anyone's exaggerating, it's the operator. I don't believe many people at all would ring up screaming they are bleeding to death with stab wounds, when (for example) they've just got a little nick on their arm that doesn't even require an ambulance. U might get some people exaggerating slightly - but not that much. Sometimes, 911 operators don't want to believe what's going on, and downplay it to themselves if possible. Or they are in the habit that some doctors are (which has also led to problems on occasion) - they look for 'horses, not zebras'. It means a tendency to assume any patient will statistically be more likely to have a common problem, rather than a rarer one. That might work on probabilities. If each patient has 95% probability of having x problem, and only 5% probability of y problem, each patient is far more likely to have x problem. But of course, eventually 5% of patients are going to have y problem. U can't shut ur mind off to that possibility, as some professionals do.

He could have threatened her, he could have told her if she said anything that he'd kill the man trying to help and then her. Well given the circumstances I don't think that would've been necessary at all she had to do what she needed to do in order to make sure she didn't die and I'm pretty sure the owners of that house would've been glad that she was alive What's worse finding out that someone had lost their life after being violently raped and inflicted twenty one stab wounds on them? Or just got your carpet and phone covered in blood so that they had a chance at survival? You can always replace material things but you can never replace a life so with those in mind I don't think it would've mattered to them in the slightest
