      The dispatcher might not have heard her properly. Just because we can hear her clearly in the audio that was probably cleared up for TV doesn't mean the dispatcher did in the moment

    I think that the suspect should have gotten about 40 years to life for what he did to this woman. He got a lighter sentence than what he probably should have gotten

      I know, right? She said "You need an ambulance?" THREE times!!!

    • @crazyhai6554
      @crazyhai6554 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @Robert Ikr? The operator tried to explain it, by saying people often ring up exaggerating injuries to get help quicker - she said 'someone says they're bleeding to death, and it's just a little cut'.
      I think if anyone's exaggerating, it's the operator. I don't believe many people at all would ring up screaming they are bleeding to death with stab wounds, when (for example) they've just got a little nick on their arm that doesn't even require an ambulance.
      U might get some people exaggerating slightly - but not that much. Sometimes, 911 operators don't want to believe what's going on, and downplay it to themselves if possible.
      Or they are in the habit that some doctors are (which has also led to problems on occasion) - they look for 'horses, not zebras'. It means a tendency to assume any patient will statistically be more likely to have a common problem, rather than a rarer one.
      That might work on probabilities. If each patient has 95% probability of having x problem, and only 5% probability of y problem, each patient is far more likely to have x problem. But of course, eventually 5% of patients are going to have y problem. U can't shut ur mind off to that possibility, as some professionals do.

He could have threatened her, he could have told her if she said anything that he'd kill the man trying to help and then her. It's like when Elizabeth Smart was rescued and people would keep asking "Why didn't you just run or yell to the people looking for you?'.
