@@TTBurgerThePlayStationGamer You have to remember this is Soviet Russia we're talking so it was unprecedented to even let the boy in the USA. Relations between the two nations were tense and they wouldn't want both parents to go because then they may try to stay in the USA rather than go home. Not saying it's right but just probably some of the logic that may have been used in that decision.

It is ironic as the Cold War hadn’t ended yet and therefore the United States and Russia which was then the Soviet Union were still enemies. However this was of course at the time when their relationship improved during Gorbachevs tenure as the leader of the Soviet Union. But still this was one of the times that Americans and Russians worked together to deal with a common problem that being saving Anton’s life as they were both human beings like Anton was.

This is the most amazing episode of Rescue 911, especially as a Brit who lived for many years in the Former USSR and returned there. You don't even have to speak the same language or come from the same culture to feel and shed tears for one another.
But I have seen that type of hospitality with Russians before like how they gave the American Medical Team some food and drink the moment they reached the hospital in Siberia and were so warm and welcoming. Our professor of Internal Medicine was Russian and he was known for being very tough in exams but he would sometimes have his assistants bring us soup and bread. Same with many other Russians who I met there, the food and drink never ceased to come enough. No words for how magnificent that is.

Gorbachev was still in power at the time. At 13:41 Shatner mentions that they were able to grant the United States and Soviet governments to grant full permission for the flight. Yes the paper did start the fire but if he wasn't playing with the fuel and soaked his clothes in the fuel which the burring paper caught his fuel soaked pants on fire it wouldn't have been as bad yeah playing with a fire not good even if kids are told no matches doesn't mean if they find the matches in the kitchen or moms purse they are going to think about mom and dad you saying no playing with matches or lighters for me only they seen you light the kitchen stove or the birthday cake candles tor even the BBQ and not get hurt they will think nothing is going to happen to me and will likely try to play with them or go and do something dangerous not knowing what might happen make sure they cant find the matches or lighters in the fist place put them far up where they cant get to them theses kids hid them from his mom so she had no idea they had them there is a TH-cam video of a preschool that did fire safety talked about matches and lighters how they are dangerous and for grown ups only they removed the fuel and match heads and hid them threw out the classroom in toy bins on bookshelves and many other places only a few took the lesson seriously the other kids wanted to start a campfire in the room so keep them out of reach then you removed the fire danger same as gasoline keep it looked up gasoline doesn't need a match or lighter to catch fire kids have dumped gasoline down a slide the static electricity caused the gas to ignite true story so keep those fuels looked up and away just like matches and lighters.

They hid the matches in a hole from his mom how whould she knowen that they had the matches and dont blame the lady walking by she how would have knowen if they had there parents permision or not its not her fault at all its the fault of the kids and their poor actions.

They weren't allowed to. The kids had a box of matches hidden under the floor boards. They even said that they had them hidden. Kids do stuff they're not allowed to do all the time and kids in Siberia are no different. She DID tell them to stop and then got distracted chasing her son. I'm sure she wishes she had physically taken the boys away from the fire and back to their homes but hindsight is 20/20. And she didn't know that Anton was soaked in oil from the waist down so probably didn't see it as a life or death situation at the moment.

@@LindaCooper-i3fI thought it was Andrew Johnson who the Tsar sold Alaska too. Last time I checked Abe Lincoln had already been killed by the time Alaska was purchased by the United States.

if I could redefine it, that'd be the real meaning of communism to me, about people being a community, including whether they are or not...

@@Cassxowary But that isn't the real meaning of communism.
It is about being 100% controlled by a malicious gov't who kills you if you do not comply and makes you live in poverty, eating dirt while they eat steak. That's communism.
America will be there soon enough.

Tell it to my ex-husband’s ancestor Tsar Nicholas, II., and shout it loud because he never had a proper education that would have made him less of an autocrat.
