मी स्वतः एक शेतकरी आहे. शेतकरी वाचवणे हे फक्त शेतकर्‍यांच्याच हातात आहे. यावरचा एकमेव उपाय म्हणजे "कमी पिकवा आणि जास्त पैसे मिळवा " दुसरा पर्याय म्हणजे "आपल्या गरजा कमी करणे " बाकी कुणीही आपल्याला वाचवू शकत नाही.

You missed a major factor. The majority of 8 crore who went back were from BIMARU states. There is no family size control in these states. This has led to fragmentation of land holding. How can any state give gainful employment such a large number of people? There should have been compulsory family size control long back.

We are made habitual of Government dependence for everything since independence. Government should act as enabler to the extent possible. Create infrastructure for agriculture like dams, canals, storages (including cold ) proper connectivity for faster transportation of farm goods etc. Budget allocation added with taxing the income of agriculture above 5 Lac as per current income tax slabs and using this for investment in agricultural infrastructure only with arrangement by law can work wonders. Exclusive agricultural infrastructure bonds with tax benefits can bring in more money from general taxpayer's and boost funding.

Data should be generated and studied differently. What is the average land holding of small and marginal farmers with less than say 2.5 hector(approx 5 Acer's) and how the number of farmers are increasing/ decreasing. How is average land holding of this segments. If land holdings are decreasing per generation then how can the income will be for sustainable livelihoods. They have to come out learn skills that give job with reasonable income. The agricultural income is exempted from income tax. Why good earners cannot be taxed same tax can be exclusively used for farm related investments. If all small farmers have different varieties they will be exploited what about farmer(producers) co-operatives to have bargaining power with single variety of crops. With similar input requirements they will have bargaining power in input purchases also. There could be farmer- consumer co-operatives also. Consumer can invest for inputs with a predefined quality and price removing middle man. Such co-operatives the consumer can also share for the crop insurances to safeguard investments in turn such cover will also help farmers from loss due to natural calamities. Such and similar new ideas should be explored, viability study done and implemented. The farmers can get additional income with outings to villages by member consumer. As is trend city people will like such outings with reasonable facilities and enjoy that as refreshing from hectic life's at low costs. NEW ideas needed. Only Government cannot do anything.

From whatever I saw, it is evident that you don't have the understanding of farming and don't seem like you have ever worked on farm anytime. 1> Farming and related industries are useful for self sustenance of a nation but beyond that there is a very limited scope to export. Also the food items like pulses and Onion, government control the export. 2> Since most of the farm labor is human, the cost of production is too high compared to other developed or competitive countries where it is mostly automated, so again the scope to export is limited. 3> If India want to become a respected country in the world, then the development has to in the field of technology and usage of it in all forms of life. We can't become a economic powerhouse by just exporting food and garments. The number of people doing farming has to be reduced and farming should not be loss making business. 4> Especially in states like Haryana and Punjab, most of the farm produce is purchased by govt. So the farmer produce only Wheat, Rice and sell it to govt. It gives them sure money and Punjab again lacks Industry. 5> The government which is buying the Rice and Wheat don't have enough storage to store the grains and every year millions of tons of grains is wasted due to lack of it. 6> When grains are sold to govt, quality check is not properly done in certain cases even bypassed due to political compulsions. 7> Where as now the states like Maharashtra, not even 2% people sell their food directly to government and still farming is fairly decent business especially Northern and Western Maharashtra. 8> In many cases, the rich farmer buy farm produce of small farmer or the "Adati" buying it from small farmer and sell it to government so the direct beneficiary is not the poor farmer but the rich one or in some cases the middleman "Adati". 9> All the 3 laws has been already in existence in Maharashtra without any fuss. 10> Not just this govt, but all the governments when does reforms, people fear and protest because of the unknown but I think farmers should take the leap of faith and move on. 11> We can no longer be dependent country on agriculture and efforts should be made to make it cost efficient. 12> Being a son of a farmer and myself being an enthusiast farmer, farmers should be left alone, no benefit and no control. Treat them as industry and help them with the capital may be in terms of cheap loans or direct cash benefits but let them take their farming as a business and absolutely no control by government.

Data should be generated and studied differently. What is the average land holding of small and marginal farmers with less than say 2.5 hector(approx 5 Acer's) and how the number of farmers are increasing/ decreasing. How is average land holding of this segments. If land holdings are decreasing per generation then how can the income will be for sustainable livelihoods. They have to come out learn skills that give job with reasonable income.
The agricultural income is exempted from income tax. Why good earners cannot be taxed same tax can be exclusively used for farm related investments.
If all small farmers have different varieties they will be exploited what about farmer(producers) co-operatives to have bargaining power with single variety of crops. With similar input requirements they will have bargaining power in input purchases also.
There could be farmer- consumer co-operatives also. Consumer can invest for inputs with a predefined quality and price removing middle man. Such co-operatives the consumer can also share for the crop insurances to safeguard investments in turn such cover will also help farmers from loss due to natural calamities.
Such and similar new ideas should be explored, viability study done and implemented.
The farmers can get additional income with outings to villages by member consumer. As is trend city people will like such outings with reasonable facilities and enjoy that as refreshing from hectic life's at low costs.
NEW ideas needed. Only Government cannot do anything.

1> Farming and related industries are useful for self sustenance of a nation but beyond that there is a very limited scope to export. Also the food items like pulses and Onion, government control the export.
2> Since most of the farm labor is human, the cost of production is too high compared to other developed or competitive countries where it is mostly automated, so again the scope to export is limited.
3> If India want to become a respected country in the world, then the development has to in the field of technology and usage of it in all forms of life. We can't become a economic powerhouse by just exporting food and garments. The number of people doing farming has to be reduced and farming should not be loss making business.
4> Especially in states like Haryana and Punjab, most of the farm produce is purchased by govt. So the farmer produce only Wheat, Rice and sell it to govt. It gives them sure money and Punjab again lacks Industry.
5> The government which is buying the Rice and Wheat don't have enough storage to store the grains and every year millions of tons of grains is wasted due to lack of it.
6> When grains are sold to govt, quality check is not properly done in certain cases even bypassed due to political compulsions.
7> Where as now the states like Maharashtra, not even 2% people sell their food directly to government and still farming is fairly decent business especially Northern and Western Maharashtra.
8> In many cases, the rich farmer buy farm produce of small farmer or the "Adati" buying it from small farmer and sell it to government so the direct beneficiary is not the poor farmer but the rich one or in some cases the middleman "Adati".
9> All the 3 laws has been already in existence in Maharashtra without any fuss.
10> Not just this govt, but all the governments when does reforms, people fear and protest because of the unknown but I think farmers should take the leap of faith and move on.
11> We can no longer be dependent country on agriculture and efforts should be made to make it cost efficient.
12> Being a son of a farmer and myself being an enthusiast farmer, farmers should be left alone, no benefit and no control. Treat them as industry and help them with the capital may be in terms of cheap loans or direct cash benefits but let them take their farming as a business and absolutely no control by government.
