  • The Best Sleeves Series | Pokémon Company: Pokemon Sleeves Review
You've just watched a DoubleSleeved review of The Pokemon Company's own brand sleeves. Pokemon sleeves are often popular for their artwork more than their ability as sleeves. SO how will they cope with our sleeve review?
Don't forget, if you need more information on inner or outer sleeves and how they interact with each other then you need to read this: www.doublesleeved.co.uk/blogs...

I would never even dream of using these to play lol but I use the older versions, the non matte ones to sleeve my full art trainers after putting them in a perfect sleeve. They're really clear and the shiny silver background complements the full art trainers really really well, other than that they're thicker than most which is important given I'm sleeving cards worth 500 bucks sometimes, I find the corners can literally cut you haha. For that very niche use I love them :D (again, not the matte ones, I really don't see the point of those, it's an insult given that most people that buy pokemon cards are collectors lol)

Fair comments. We like to try and give our honest opinions even if they are a little obvious sometimes ☺️☺️

I wish these sleeves were as good as the high end ultra pro sleeves (the ones with the black back - i love playing with those despite them being matte). I did not going ahead in using them as soon as I attempted to double sleeve - it was painful. Great content though! This is the first video about these sleeves I've come across and they are exactly my thoughts.

Pleased you agreed with our thoughts. 😊 They are a sleeve that is out there and yet no one is talking about it so made sense to. Thank you for your comment 😁

Hey man, great video, I appreciate your insight. What sleeves do you recommend for displaying Pokémon cards in a binder and keeping them safe from damage over time? I’ve been using old ETB sleeves for as long as I can remember (like from sun and moon) because they are not matte.

You can get loads of gloss sleeves. Dragon shield mattes are gloss (the matte is the back of the sleeve not the front annoyingly). Or ultra pro eclipse gloss. The best on the market are ultimate guard katanas. So many great choices. Etb sleeves are not the ones 😅

Would love to see a review of the dragon shield 12 pocket zipster binder. Been trying to find the best 12 pocket binder for my pokemon master sets and i think those might be it if everything in it works well and the rings are strong enough once it is loaded with cards

Binders are a bit of a focus for us at the moment. Hopefully a string of reviews will be out soon. 😊

usually i pay around 2-3€ (+ shipping) for these kind of sleeves if i get them from cardmarked, works pretty well there. But since you review these kind of sleeves as well, i wonder if the Star Birth: Pro Charizard Sleeves sleeves are of that kind as well, like, not glossy on the backside.
I rly like the sleeves, i don't play so often and while they probably get destroyed eather easily, I think shuffling them feels pretty well, much better then other sleeves like from bushiroad or Ultra Pro^^ buuut that's just my experience.

We don't open and try every type I'm afraid, but the difference will only matter if you are wanting really long lasting and great sleeves. You could use outer sleeves (plenty on the market, we have reviewed a few) that will protect them.

Are Pokémon Center sleeves also matte and reduce the foil effect? Or are they clear like old etb sleeves?

As far as we have seen, all Pokémon branded sleeves are the same matte finish.

Pokémon Center Sleves are clear and of better quality than etb sleeves, that's the reason they are used so much in Japan Tournaments.

Was a bit disappointed to find this out the hard way, have some beautiful silver tempest sleeves but after 2 or three games I've noticed they start to peel😢

In future I'd recommend using over sleeves. Either dragon shield or KMC (we're yet to review others) as they go over the art sleeve and protect it whilst showing the lovely art below. ☺️
