    The auto off with the viewfinder is the first thing I would change…I mostly use the screen, with a (depending on where the sun is) viewfinder check if the screen is not visible, and then back to the screen when it is. Depends on the situation, but I’m glad to know it won’t turn the camera off.

      Smart. Same with me. First thing I changed.
      Sometimes I just want to pop up the viewfinder for that one shot ..
      then look back at the LCD screen for the next shot.
      I don’t want the camera turning on and off, every time I change my viewing choice.

    You suggest leaving the aspect ratio at 4:3 but this depends on what you are trying to capture. On my recent holiday I left it at this for the majority of my photos a lot of which were landscape views that I was trying to capture and on reviewing them I wish I hadn't as a lot of detail was missed and I could've easily lived without not capturing the foreground and background of the image as opposed to wanting to capture as much of the wider landscape detail as possible. That said this is an excellent camera and some of what I captured at the telephoto end considering the distance away was quite unbelievable .

    • @tush_2870
      @tush_2870 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What aspect ratio do you suggest if I want to take landscape photos as I m going to take lot of snow and mountain photos. Please advise.

    • @sportythief35
      @sportythief35 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tush_2870 It's down to personal preference but I would've used 16:9

    • @samsantana
      @samsantana 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      huh? you realise the native ratio of the sensor is in fact 4:3 right? what that means is that at 4:3 you did capture as much of the 'wider' landscape detail as possible PLUS additional areas above and below the 16:9 frame you would have captured had you set the ratio to 16:9.

    • @Koji-888
      @Koji-888 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Uhh.. 4:3 is the biggest file you can absorb. Fills your View Finder frame.
      Best to capture as much as you can at location.
      Chop the top and bottom off at home if you desire.
      Plus maybe you decide at home you want more sky.. or more lower foreground. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Hi.. i want to ask about the shutter speed. I try light painting shot with this camera but I cant success with this camera. The shutter speed can't set slow even I try on Manual mode. It can set if we set ISO Auto [Multi Frame NR] and that's not good for light painting. Any idea for light painting with this camera? Thank you.

      Start with “Retro”. The fourth one down. You will see a difference instantly.
      The photos are much lighter, warmer, and less contrasty. I like this one occasionally.
      This is also where you can change to Black and White setting.

    Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to connect a rode mini microphone in this camera?

    • @Koji-888
      @Koji-888 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately no. The HX90 and 99 have no mic input jack.
      You’ll have to buy a separate recording device then synch them in post.
      Fairly easy to edit once you buy all your stuff.

    Hi---Just wondering if you could advise on the best setting to stop the camera compensating for low light---tried to take some night shots but the camera automatically lightened things up and spolied the photo! Thanks!

    • @Big-GVideo
      @Big-GVideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Put the camera into manual or shutter priority mode and set a low ISO

    • @Koji-888
      @Koji-888 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are (2) night scene settings that are helpful.
      One is for just a night shot with no people.
      The other is if you want a person exposed “AND” the background night scene.

      In menu settings, you can map the control ring to do anything.
      Exposure Compensation. ISO. etc…
      But I just leave it on the default “Zoom Ring” because I’m always bumping it.
      I don’t want to accidentally change a more important setting.

      Use the P mode. The camera will expose properly automatically, plus it knows you’re zoomed.
      P mode will still let you make adjustments. Center focus. Exposure compensation. Etc..
      Just leave it in P mode until you know more what you’re doing and need bigger changes.

      Put the camera in Auto Mode. It’s the green camera icon on the control dial.
      The “gold camera icon” is also Auto but for low light situations.
      When you start to learn more ~then~ you can put the camera in P Mode. Program mode.
      This way the camera will still nail exposure for you, but allow you to adjust a few things. 💁🏻‍♀️

    • @Big-GVideo

      The best thing to do is to put the camera on a tripod, as you'r zooming the aperture will be small so have a slow shutter speed. Or use auto settings but set the exposure compensation to +1

      @@Big-GVideo Try in Camera settings-3-Focus Mode the DMF (easy from Fn). The ring will then in PSAM be like ManualFocus as in Olympus-OMD, so in Macro (for me as goldsmith) or in far away tele shots, you can overrule the autofocus, specially useful when hesitating in ultra zoom ... nice for Bokeh shots ... I just like to stick the camera on a handle that I made, to better handle the mini camera and this Magic Ring. Alex, with too big hands, even for diamonds! baggy trousers not needed for this beaut, simple jeans already do it ...
