As an outdoorsman, for the last 45 years or so it never ceases to amaze me, regarding knife videos. I've carried the same best knive for nearly 15vyears, same old hatchet fir 20 and a couple of pocket knives. With these ive done a lot of work, Camping, hiking hunting and fishing all year round in wild country. Never once have my basic tools let me down. I do carry a small sharpening stone also. Maybe it's me but the true meaning of "bushcraft " is being able to use your skills, with basic kit all year round. Don't get me wrong I do have other kit, knives and so on but very rarely need them. I th8nk think we are losing touch with nature, our forefathers skills and concentration on some very overpriced kit. Just saying.
TRC in my opinion is one of the best when it comes to fit and finsh their knives are just about perfect especially since they are a production knife and not a custom I have TRC Classic Freedom that stays in my EDC bag and goes with me everywhere.
I'm from Europe and know TRC for some years already. Basically from the start when the knives came without boxes. Andrius is really a great guy also. Yes they are on the expensive side but they are really well made in expensive steels. All I EDC is a SAK but this might be a good travel knife because of the slim profile. For prolonged camp use that Reiff F4 looks very interesting but will cost me even more including p&p and European VAT. I might try to pick one up next time I visit the US. Thanks for introducing TRC to the US. You should try their Apocalyps. That's a beast of a knife.
Too many nice knives are wrecked by a junk sheath. I know there are custom sheaths, but they are often an afterthought and it can make all the difference. Thanks for the consistently good content -
I like this little knife quite a lot but the company is new to me. I'll look forward to learning more about these new products in coming videos. Thanks for your evenhanded presentation.
My go to fixed blade is a Hinderer Emmett @ 5.5oz...8.1oz W-kydex sheath and scout style straps. I rarely carry it like an EDC, but when I do, I carry it weak-side on my belt across-Draw style.
Hey Aaron, Ive been following your channel for a number of years now and have learnt so much especially about knives, steel, handles, sheath systems etc by just watching your videos. keep up the good work.

G'day Aaron, yeah very nice mate and I am using small fixies more in rotation for EDC, but my "go to" folder for EDC is a Recon 1, drop point, in S35 and weighs, 147 grams, (5.2 oz). Mind you, weight/size, within reason, is not an issue for me, it's all about cutting performance, ergos and a solid build. I havent had any blades fail to spring back, (or snap for that matter), if in fact they actually flex to start with. I do always try and use the right tool for the job though, and for the most part, thicker stock is a high priority across the board. Cheers Duke.
I absolutely love my TRC knives, and had a lovely experience with them. I really hoping that they will re-release the discontinued TR-15 (Bushcrafter) in the near future. With a more neutral handle without the finger groove on the handle.
Every TRC knife I have is top shelf. Fit and finish is second to none. Durability is also excellent as is their sheaths. On a side note I can’t access the community page from my iPad so unfortunately I have to sit this giveaway out. 😢
Greetings from Finland, Aaron. I have been following your channel and your excellent reviews for 6-7 years and have bought many useful knives based on your reviews. For example, similar to this knife is my TOPS Overlander 2. Best regards - Mauri
TRC and magnacut you can’t go wrong with that. I recently purchased a Joker after watching your review and it is also a great fixed blade. Great content as always thanks!
TRC prices are high, and always have been. Probably a really good knife though. Love those ulticlips! I'm almost never wearing a belt lately, so the clip is a life saver for me.
I've spent $250 to $300 on knives and could never bring myself to beat on it, My price point is around that $125 range and it not hurt my feelings to actually use the knife, this knife overall is a really nice looking piece. Great review!
This would seriously LIVE in my pocket, Aaron. My guess is that TRC designed it to be a hybrid of an EDC and a survival knife, a sort of EDS (EveryDay Survival) knife, so they kept the edge at a thick-ish angle. Completely on-brand for them, honestly. That said, I'd reprofile it too.
G'day Charles, how are ya mate ? yep, totally concur, a hybrid, and a very good one at that I'd say. You may well have invented a new knife acronym, I reckon there's quite a few others that fit the same bill, ..... intentionally or not ; ) Cheers Duke.
@@eyeofthetiger4184 Hey Duke! Good to see you, my friend. I'm hanging tough on my end. How about you? The EDS is a genre I really like, frankly. I'm carrying one right now, though it's definitely not in the same class or price range as any TRS. It's a little Schrade 9Cr necker - full handle, full tang, thick spine, but hollow ground. Slices well, but tough as nails.

Great review and good lookin lil blade. The EDC style fixed blades have really grown on me. A bit pricey but you're paying a bit more for the brand reputation. This one will treat you well I bet. Keep up the good work, sir!
I have two TRC knives and both are outstanding. What I love most about them are the quality. They feel like they were forged to be both working knives as well as pieces of art. You wouldn't understand that last point until you held one. The craftsmanship is phenomenal.
So I have the South Pole for my field knife and the classic freedom for my edc. I love the polheim since it carried the same profile as the South Pole. Do you have any intel as to when places will be stocking it? I am convinced I want one!

i have been hearing a lot of buzz about trc kinves, after watching your review i can understand all the hype. i would love to try out this blade, fantastic hiking blade. thanks for the giveaway.
My daily use blade is a Bark River Bravo EDC in CPM-M4 steel. It weighs in at 3.5 oz without the sheath and 5.5 with the leather sheath. The TRC just doesn't hit me in the feels. The Reiff was more my preference. The speed goat would be better if it had nice wood or G10 handle scales. Just my opinion.
Good presentation...keep up the good work... lately ive been carrying a buck vantage in s30v...very solid knife...was lucky to get it at a very good price
I really like the blade profile. It's a pricey blade but everything from TRC is expensive. Great choice of steel. I'd rather own one high quality blade than 2 or 3 common grade blades.
Good looking knife but quite overpriced compared to the competition at $100 less it might be a good option but as it stands just way to much for what your getting. Thanks for the look see and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
That's what I love about my Magnacut Bark River Bushcraft Scout. It's about the same size as my large folder but gives me the strength of a full-tang fixed blade
That TRC Polheim looks excellent, but it's way out of my price range. I prefer budget knives for my hiking/woods use but admit I'm not doing any heavy bushcrafting stuff. The two I like the best so far are the CJRB Hyperlite (4" fixed blade by Joe Flowers) and my Cold Steel Range Boss (4" folder with 4116 steel). The Hyperlite weighs 3.5oz (w/o sheath) and the Range Boss weighs 3.125oz. Both would be fine for EDC.
Thank you Aaron for showcasing the TRC knife . This knife 🔪 looks very versatile and strong . This was another great presentation with great content . You always strive for excellence this video is a testament of this . Oh ! By the way please would showcase Extreama Ratio knives
It is interesting you compare it to the MKC Speedgoat. I was thinking the whole time that if the TRC was over $300, I would still rather have a MKC Fieldcraft, which I think is more comparable in both profile and intended use, being a drop point with G10 handle scales in an intelligently designed sheath intended for EDC, and available in Magnacut. I also couldn't help but think about the Bradford Guardian 4.2 in Magnacut. I currently rock a Guardian 5.5 in CPM 3V, actually at your recommendation. It carries okay; I carry a full size handgun as well so I obviously have accepted the added weight of full size tools with the increased functionality they offer. I haven't carried a folder in years. I have been looking at Magnacut, however, and being from MT and a big fan of Josh Smith, I would love the Fieldcraft. His drops just sell out so fast it is hard to get your hands on one. The appeal of the Bradford is that you can usually just go on their sight and order what you want without having to be waiting on your computer for the drop notice and be one of the first 100 to add one to your cart.
Oh if I had one. I would never carry it because it cost so much. I bought a pocket knife many years ago. A little on the expensive side. I have never carried it. But it's a nice knife. Maybe one day I will. Is it's a cool knife.
Hi Aaron. I really like this knife. I am not familiar with TRC Knives, but this one offers a lot in quality materials, shape and size. Looks like a really strong contender for an edc fixed blade. I would really like to to try to pocket carry it, but it does have several great options. I also would probably re-profile the blade as you did.
Two other exelent EDC knives from TRC around the same size as the Pohlheim: K-1S, steel is Elmax and Classic Freedom, steel is M390. My most used EDC is a South Pole with a secondary convex edge (I have reprofiling the edge), but the knife is a little bit bigger as the Pohlheim.
Love your reviews - one of my resources on choosing knives. ❤ This looks like an excellent choice. I have Jokers and Casstrom for bushcrafting, and the Polheim looks like it would be good in that role, but better as an EDC. I also have a couple of MKC blades that I like. I currently EDC the Mini-Speed Goat for its weight - 1.7 oz. I will consider adding the Polheim to my purchase list - based on your review. 😊
As usual you've put out a good no BS video . While it's a great looking knife I feel the price is a little too high for me . I also lean towards knives with screwed handles & not tubes as I think that could be a problem if used hard .

TRC knives are one of my fav brand. great design and quality imo 👌🏻
Nice review as well. I have a few TRC knives. They are awesome. Really like this model might need to get it. Really hate the ulticlip
Huh, never heard of them before today. Looks like they are very dialed in. Knife sounds like it's a great tool. The price is a little steep for me!
Sound like a great fix blade😊
Another good video. Never heard of this company, but looks like a really good tool.
Ya, they have a big following in Europe! Excellent quality but you will pay for it 😀
As usual you've put out a good no BS video . While it's a great looking knife I feel the price
is a little too high for me . I also lean towards knives with screwed handles & not tubes as I
think that could be a problem if used hard .
I'd love to check it out.
I'm trying to find one of these but none of the online knife shops have it, and knife center says its been discontinued? Anyone?
No they just do batches I believe
@@gideonstactical Preciate it, I'll have to keep looking around. These must be legit, because they are definitely hard to find. Thanks for the reply, thats why your channel is where it is at, your the man.
It always looks like you have a lot of fun doing these videos and playing with some pretty awesome toys like this one. Thank you for the content and good luck to everyone in the giveaway. That is a really slick-looking knife.
It’s a blast, I am very bless to be able to do this for a living and sharing my experience with you fellow blade brothers!!
