    Looks like you guys got a good spot at Zocolo! We we’re on the opposite side. We only stayed until the 3rd song since we had our little baby! It was so jammed pack it took us about 30 mins to make it out to the street to catch our Uber! We’re glad we got to see it for a little bit. Great shot of the fireworks and cry of independence! ❤🎉😊

    Hi guys! To be honest I don't feel like going there for the grito, first of all because I live in estado de México, secondly I don't feel like standing for so long in a packed place and this made me wonder what if you wanted to go to the bathroom or somewhere else, for that and for more reason I I never have been there in that date however, I enjoyed the video. Greetings!

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't blame you, Cristina, I was pretty nervous about it myself because of the enormous crowd and the hours of waiting. What worked out for us was getting tacos at a little taquería nearby and using the bathroom there and not drinking anything until after the event 😅 sacrifices... lol

    I’ve heard of LTDN! Maybe from the Grammys, I think? Looks so fun, but no room to dance! that’s quite the military display. It just keeps going! I’m with Jenny - would be fun to see some traditional dancing or other more cultural performances/celebrations, too. Both spots you guys have celebrated in are so cool!

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep that might be it, they have about 10 grammys (just looked it up out of curiosity!) and we did consider going to another part of the city that had a different band playing, a super famous cumbia group Los Angeles Azules where we would have been able to dance! 😅 but we chose the iconic main event for this time, maybe next year we'll get to have some dancing in the celebration!

    The whole military parade thing was definitely a sight to see. The paratroopers were amazing and the whole display was quite jaw dropping, not only because of how impressive it all looked but also because it was such an odd sight. We definitely don't see anything like that in US parades. I showed by husband and he pointed out that it's an odd sight for us because military parades are a usually third world country/communist thing....To me that seems odd for a thriving democracy like Mexico....that and I'm not used to Mexico flexing it's military, since Mexico is a neutral country. I'm still trying to mull over what the meaning of it is. From what I hear the big military show is new this year? What is the message? I know Mexico's senate just voted to put the military in charge of the national guard.....is this all pointing to a solid show of force against cartel corruption?
    Anywho, nice video guys. I'm impressed you guys got to eat and use the bathroom, I saw other youtubers were going hungry and thirsty. Y'all are resourceful!

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      we unfortunately missed some of the cool things happening in the air but yea I'm totally with you on how odd it is to see all the glorification of military. I was wondering if perhaps this was a mega-recruitment event and also a way to try to unify citizens behind supporting their military? Could it be a way of Mexico asserting their strength and continued independence?

    Chicos, You can DIY “~Gatorade.” 2 quarts of water. 1 package of Kool-Ade. 3/4 cup of sugar. ~ 1/4 teaspoon of 50-50 salt, that’s 50% sodium chloride and 50% potassium chloride. I got this recipe from the college volleyball coach. BIG $$$ saver. Portense Bien, si no CHANCLA…Did you video the earthquake?

    • @golfertex

      @@EatBailaTravel No, I didn’t play volleyball. 50 years ago, the volleyball coach was the go to guy for minor physical problems & ADA accommodations. I played softball & got my senior lifesaver certificate. In 2017, I felt a 5.7 earthquake in Chile. No big deal. No damage, the building codes appear to be strictly followed. Chile is sooo much like Mexico, you chicos need to check it out! Disfruten de su juventúd.

    Some people dislike and may be discouraged by military parades because they consider them government propaganda used for recruitment. This one in Mexico however seems more genuine and people friendly as the military salutes and greets the pueblo and vice versa. The Mexican people seem to love this military parade because it shows that the country is ready to defend itself from outside invaders knowing the long history of Mexico being invaded by countries such as the US and France. In my opinion, that would be the big difference between US and Mexico where one may use its military mainly for offensive purposes and the other for defensive purposes.
    Saludos EBT 😁, ya veo que se cuidaron y se banaron (con la lluvia) 😂

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad you bring that up because I felt the same at the beginning of the parade and the more I saw people's admiration and pride, my opinion started to shift. And my judgement comes from my experience growing up in the US where A LOT of money is spent trying to show just how big our military is and how they target low-income communities for recruitment... while I did feel like the parade was a subtle recruitment event it still brought people together in a way I've never seen in the US. Really interesting! and yes, whether we liked it or not, nos bañamos! 😅 gracias por el comentario amigo saludos!
