Great video as always, Canadian myself, lived and worked in Mexico nearly for 5 years, ate at dozens of street stalls, not a single time did I get sick. The only time I got sick was from food in a fancy supermarket in Puerto Vallarta 😂
The CDMX Metro is the best in the world. And I know what I say, I have lived in NYC (the 2d best but definitely dirtiest in the world), in London, have extensively used the subway in Paris, Berlin and many other places. Mexico's subway is the cleanest I have ever seen, it is very reliable, and did I mention the free wifi in the trains? Add the metro bus, the red double deckers you think are right out of London, the blue e-buses, and of course my favorite: the peseros! I love these rickety little buses which are amazingly reliable and cheap. And did I mention the metro is the cleanest you will ever see? CDMX is a public transportation nerd's paradise. The little Volkswagen beetle Taxis sadly are gone, but riding a cab can be "interesting," too, depending on how daring your driver is. I had once a driver who simply got around the traffic jam by driving against oncoming traffic :) So, forget a car, you might be able to drive it, but you'll never find a parking spot. Public transportation is the way to go in Mexico City.
😅😅 wow so cool! We don’t have a whole lot to compare it to and are still impressed by this system so I’m glad to hear your perspective about it! Haha that driver going against oncoming traffic is wild! I’d be fearing for my life!!!
Wow! Such an original and creative video of not just “another taco tour in Roma Norte”. I’m headed to CDMX next week with my kids and now thinking of a Metro scavenger hunt. Great video!!
Thank you for sharing the quesadilla stop : Centro médico metro stop the market where they sell the dinosaur quesadillas Friday -Sunday and that they start at 11am
Awesome video! I am really loving the Mexico City series. The Metro and Metrobús are fast and easy. I avoid them at rush hour, but love using them to get around. I liked that you linked this video to food and art. I need a 🦕 quesadilla!
I loved it! I’ve always heard that the metro system was a hot mess. But you two made it look pretty enticing. I’m definitely going to check it out when I get there in May. I’m also looking forward to your travel guide. . . Can’t wait!
Your videos are underrated, you guys deserve more subscribers! Such an interesting video, I've been a bit intimidated about going to Mexico City but this gives me a good idea of what it will really be like, thanks guys :) That's a really nice metro system with the art and everything. Also, I know maybe it's a bit obvious but I would love to see you guys' take on staying safe in Mexico City if you haven't done one already.
Aw, thanks for saying that! I don’t blame you for feeling intimidated. We used to feel that way and avoided this city for a long time but are now enjoying it so much! And sure thing, safety is always a great topic, we should definitely do one as a part of this series
that's a completely different experience from Americans who stay at Roma Norte and just go to posh restaurants and tourist attractions during their stay ... sounds like a crazy city
Gracias, primos Finalmente un vídeo sólido sobre la Ciudad de México de mexicanos con vibraciones históricas y artísticas ¡Soplas todos los demás vídeos! ¡Qué inspirado e impresionado!
I tried the Metro for the first time last week & I can say, I enjoyed it. I had to keep up with the people or you will get left be-hide. Thank ya'll for the videos I love them. Please keep on making more they're so fun to watch!
Im leaving my hotel in cuatehmoc at this moment going back to USA. So excited to see this video. Still haven't gotten on the metro here but I always learn something watching you guys. Please consider visiting Brragán's houses and reporting about them. I got very sick with asthma and missed some things i was hoping to see. He built one property around a tree which turned out to be a great idea. Im obsessed with your tree in Oaxaca 😊
The metro system is a beast and I was honestly super intimidated by it at first! Took some practice to build the confidence and now it’s a regular part of life 😁 sorry to hear you got sick! Are you referring to the museum Casa Estudio Luis Barragán? Not familiar with it but I’m intrigued!
Ciudad de Mexico is by far one of the richest cities in terms of arts and culture, and I really appreciated that during my visit to CDMX. And I still miss my Taqueria next to Tlatelolco Metro station, damn those tacos con pastor y salsa son deliciosos...
Oh, how cool to have those museums in the metro stations! You don't mind waiting for a train when you can get some culture at the same time! How unique to have 🦕🦖shaped food, you find the coolest things!
Dudes! This video is genius! I took the subway finally after my 8th trip to Mexico City and it was super easy! And we even did a transfer . I went from Centro Historico to the Basilica de Guadalupe! I loved it! They had a museum of astronomy along the way as well. A super long tunnel, all dark with constellations on the ceiling. I also took a public local bus in Oaxaca and it was super cute. 5 pesos! I am a big fan of public transportation. And then adding the local taco stands - genius! Do more videos on the trams and buses. They look tricky for some reason. Fun fact: TAPO - the main bus station in DF (the round one) has buses that take you to the main entrance of teotihuacan for $5 round trip! No need for $70 private cars. And the buses leave every 30 minutes!
Ah yea I know which one you’re talking about! That’s the La Raza metro station it’s super cool! We didn’t include it because the starry sky lights aren’t on 😏 Thanks for the TAPO tip👍🏽 glad you enjoyed the video 🤗
Your videos are so helpful, educational and inspirational!1 An EBT guide of Mexico? A guide to Mexico City? Dinosaur food?Yes please🦖🦕🩷 Maybe another guide or video of Mexican products you love, like your mascara😘🌷🦋
The "Ehécatl" pyramid was built round on purpose since he was the wind god, so that way his free circulation wouldn't be cut short by hitting any corners.
Do all your videos in both English and Spanish versions! Spanish speaking TH-camrs make coin! I regularly watch correano vlogs, la ruta de la garnacha, and zapatos de Monica! Their base viewers are Mexicans in Mexico. Mexicans LOVE to watch videos on their own country. They rack up the views and make coin! Think about it. Double your viewership!
Gosh I wish we could! We can hardly keep up with producing one video a week. We’ve tried before. Filming the same video twice (in English then again in Spanish), we did it for Coatepec, Veracruz but it wasn’t sustainable for us ☹️ Then we were hoping and waiting for TH-cam to release a feature that would allow us to dub our own videos into another language but they still haven’t released that feature to all content creators (only a select few 😏).
@EatBailaTravel I saw where there are AI products that can not only translate but can change the "shape of your mouth" to match the words as you speak them. Not sure of cost but just putting this out there
Wow chavos what a cool video so dynamic thanks for the info and the places wow I'm originally from Puebla but Mexico City is amazing big hug from Dallas Texas😊
Thank you for highlighting the public transporation in CDMX. It can certainly be an "experience," but once you try it and get used to the hustle and bustle, it can be a wonderful (and necessary) part of the chilango experience.
You guys provide so much information that’s valuable. I was wondering if you guys could go over the banks in Mexico for us? Like BBVA, Banorte, and other big banks. Which one would be easier to use on the app and wire money into it. I know when I move to Mexico, I’m wanting to have a bank here in the USA and Mexico. Also I’m from the Midwest and live in Valparaiso Indiana. 1 hr away from Chicago. Nice knowing that people from our area are doing well. Keep it up.
🦖🦕great video and so informative. So I tried the metro system a few times and was overwhelmed not only the number of ppl but its energy. Now after seeing all the supper cool stuff - I now want to venture out there for the museams -its so cool. Gracias chicos and congrats on 27k🥳🥳
It’s not a physical restaurant it’s a street food stand. We couldn’t locate it on Google maps either. Best I can describe is at the market in front of the hospital just off of the Centro Medico metro stop, on Avenida Cuauhtémoc on the side where the park is. The park is Ramon Lopez Velarde garden.
I love this video! When i tell u , i am terrified of any subway system, but wheb i hear about the size in cdmx, its espcially so. especially since i have a family and i imagine us getting seperated😮 i want to try it to save time and experience the cdmx metro but i am so scared i will lose one of my kids and their spanish is not so great 😅 but this video very mush motivated me
You gotta be ready to gently push your way in and out! It’s part of the experience 😅 but it’ll be fine! I almost got separated from my mom when I was small, I stepped out of the train and she didn’t make it out in time. It started to leave but she was able to pull the emergency stop lever. This was in Chicago. I don’t think I’ve seen these emergency stop levers on the CDMX metro.
You said in your Queretaro video that you rented a private room with a shared kitchen. Could you please tell me the name of the place and where it is located. Thanks.
Hi, we found it on Airbnb and it was quite far from the city center, which can be inconvenient if you don’t have a car. The neighborhood was called Cuesta Bonita.
I would love to have a digital guide!!!❤ When it's ready, I'm getting it. If it has a Googlemapd linked with all your resources and recommendations even better! Or even a mapped walking tour. Can you make an app, is that a thing, or am I crazy to suggest, if it is you guys would be awesome to make it! 😉
You might have been the one who told us to Go check out Pino Suarez! Thank you very much it was so impressive to see that. We were going to include La Raza but lately the science tunnel has been looking as cool as it normally does.
Would you make a video on things new immigrants to Mexico need to get acclimated? In particular, one that talks about getting passes to ride the bus (buying from Oxxo and buying from a kiosk), setting up and using the Didi app, paying a bill, getting money from an ATM, getting groceries from a mercado (suggestion people: bring your own bag!)...just the basics, but all in one video. I know you've done videos in the past covering some, if not all, of this, but they are separated. Or, if you already have a video like this that I just havent seen yet, please let me know. I plan to be in QRO and want to use their public transportation system more, and avoid the higher cost of using Didi and Uber if I can. Thanks for all the wonderful work you do!
Awsome video, especially the Dino quesadilla stand. Question: Can 2 people share a metro card, passing it from one person to the next person, to get thru turnstiles? Can't wait to see your next video in Mexico City. PS things I'd like to see: where to get a haircut.
yes, metro card can be shared with anyone for passing from one person to the next but ideally you want one per person because you can also use the bike with it and you use it for everything
🦕 Thanks for your insights! I’ve never been on/in a subway metro before. Not even in Chicago being so close to Milwaukee. How do they compare? I’ve always kinda been afraid. You guys made it look fun, easy, and delicious 🌮! 😋💃🕺🚆
The L in Chicago is so chill compared to the busy chaos of the Mexico City subway 😅 except, the Chicago L seems to experience lots more violence… but that’s just my perspective. Some lines more than others.
you're too young to know this but if you're over 60 you can ride the metro for free. The metro is a unique experience. The busses can be fairly full but the good news is that if you don't want to ride that bus in a couple minutes another one will come. Tacos el Pastor now i'm slipping into a taco coma. I couldn't find a dinosaur emoji. -Marc
Great video guys! That metro looks hella intimidating jaja. And congrats on your new project with the guides!!! Def eating some of this dino quesadillas 🦖🦕🦖🦕
Dallas now has 4. 214 is the original area code. then, house phone went to 972 (which is interestingly also Israel's country code & many Jews live in the area) & far North Dallas got a 3rd one, 469, & a 4th one, 945.@@EatBailaTravel
🦕 🦖 I am hoping to come to CDMX and try this out and see how it compares to Istanbul (where on card gives you access to subways, buses, ferries, and cable cars). I found Google Maps to be extremely helpful in navigating the system. I am hoping the same will be true in CDMX.
@@EatBailaTravelPublic transportation interconnects the entire city and delegations, so you are telling me that only people from DF is allowed to use transportation? Even though it's just a small fraction of the city itself? Using that logic, in that case, the metro in NY City transports only 300 000 people, because the population in Manhatan is only 300 000 people.
Surprised you didn't cover the Cablebús, but that might be another video. If you've ever been on a ski lift, the ride will be a bit mundane, but smooth. There were 20 to 30 mph crosswinds by looking at the trees below, but was a smooth ride. The portraits and murals that people had painted on their rooftops made the trip from Piño Suarez to Constitution de 1917 worth it. Plus it was 7 or 8 Pesos each way. Worth it!
@@EatBailaTravel For the southern route, or L2 (the longest cable car line in the world) over scenic Iztapalpa, you get off at Metro Constitution de 1917, the eastern terminus of the Green Line. Follow the signs, swipe your Metro card one more time and off you go. I found it without a problem and my Spanish is horrible and I'm as sharp as a bowling ball, so I've been told.
when you're younger you get get away with eating a lot of crap but it will catch up to you later in life, wait till you get to 50 and have all kinds of food allergies and gut health issues from all the years of bad eating.
mostly home cooked meals, organic meats and veggies, grass fed, pasture raised, Keto/IF ... most stuff you eat out is garbage, especially in Mexico; GMO, seed oils, etc@@EatBailaTravel

True. That’s hard to come by!
Saludos 🥰
Gracias mi Jaylin 🥰
you're too young to know this but if you're over 60 you can ride the metro for free. The metro is a unique experience. The busses can be fairly full but the good news is that if you don't want to ride that bus in a couple minutes another one will come. Tacos el Pastor now i'm slipping into a taco coma. I couldn't find a dinosaur emoji. -Marc
Ah we’ve noticed that actually! I like that there are added perks like that for people. Thanks for watching, Marc 🤗
No se vale!!!
Eso taquitos si que están para chuparse los dedos…
Lol!
Ya falta poco para mis vacaciones en CDMX..
Keep up the great work…
😅😅😅🫶🏻
Great video guys! That metro looks hella intimidating jaja. And congrats on your new project with the guides!!! Def eating some of this dino quesadillas 🦖🦕🦖🦕
Gracias amigo! 😁🫶🏻
btw, what's the significance of "312" on Kevin's shirt?
Chicago area code 😁😎
Dallas now has 4. 214 is the original area code. then, house phone went to 972 (which is interestingly also Israel's country code & many Jews live in the area) & far North Dallas got a 3rd one, 469, & a 4th one, 945.@@EatBailaTravel

Still haven't covered Mercedes market.... Don't worry what happens outside of the oldest market in Mexico
Hmm we still haven’t been! 😅
🦕 🦖 I am hoping to come to CDMX and try this out and see how it compares to Istanbul (where on card gives you access to subways, buses, ferries, and cable cars). I found Google Maps to be extremely helpful in navigating the system. I am hoping the same will be true in CDMX.
65M years in the making...and then Kevin ate it! 😅😅😅😅
Hahahaha and it was delicious 🤷🏽♂️
@@EatBailaTravel 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 🤣
4 bits per taco? not bad!
And delicious!
Bro, the polulation in Mexico city is 23 million people, the 9 million people you mention is just in old DF it is just a small fraction of the city.
Yea the city limit is one thing but the 23 million figure includes the whole metropolitan area

👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Next: The Metrobus.
The metrobus always has some cool random info.

Worth it!
We have not been on the cable bus. We actually don’t really know where to board the cable bus yet. We’ll definitely check it out
@@EatBailaTravel For the southern route, or L2 (the longest cable car line in the world) over scenic Iztapalpa, you get off at Metro Constitution de 1917, the eastern terminus of the Green Line. Follow the signs, swipe your Metro card one more time and off you go. I found it without a problem and my Spanish is horrible and I'm as sharp as a bowling ball, so I've been told.
¿Son hijos o descendientes de Méxicanos. 😮🇲🇽

when you're younger you get get away with eating a lot of crap but it will catch up to you later in life, wait till you get to 50 and have all kinds of food allergies and gut health issues from all the years of bad eating.
What’s your diet like at 50?
mostly home cooked meals, organic meats and veggies, grass fed, pasture raised, Keto/IF ... most stuff you eat out is garbage, especially in Mexico; GMO, seed oils, etc@@EatBailaTravel
El metro es mas barato que Uber y mas ecológico.
