Worked for Hanazono in Niseko from 2004 to 2011. Great spot especially the peak. Sadly now it's expensive and get's skied out very quickly. So many other great cheaper resorts in Hokkaido that are worth visiting.
Any chance of the name of the accommodation you stayed at? Love that ski in ski out option. I did the Sapporo snow festival back in 2014, was bloody epic. Looking forward to going back there again with the kids.
awesome video - i really enjoyed skiing in Niseko but I didn't enjoy the very western (& really really expensive) village. much prefer the sleepy villages in myoko, nozawa onsen, madarao. much better value for money and nicer Japanese food. Rusutsu I thought was a top quality mountain too. But for the prices you pay for everything in niseko village - would rather head to US/Canada
You missed the POW? They usually have a consistent dump of DRY powder every night. And if the top of the mountain is closed for a day or two, you can get into some deep stuff...
Didn't see a lot of powder in this video. For a US skier that would be a very long way to go for groomers. The lift tix are cheap! That amount would get two days at Vail or Aspen.
Been skiing in Japan since the 80,s and apart from night-life rest assured Niseko is NOT the best skiing in Japan and far from it.Explore dudes and find for yourselves
Came for the snow, stayed till the snore!
Thanks for watching till the end!
Your videos are ALWAYS worth the entire view 🎉😂❤ Cheers to you and the whole Fam Damily @@KymIllman
Welcome to Japan!!! I give you Big thank you for visiting my country.
I accept your big thank you! Arigato
Stayed and Worked in Niseko for a month and a half this season. Best powder I've experienced! Would definitely come back for more
Queues not too overwhelming?

Nice, I was based in Sapporo from 04-06, always caught the train to little old Teine. Furano was great too
So many good resorts in Hokkaido. Just did Kamui and Furano this winter@@julz_7773
Thanks for the tour. Beautiful!
My pleasure
Such a great adventure for you and your family. Thank you for sharing those amazing sights.
Our pleasure!
Old man Kym is rocking the ski slopes and I'm so bad at skiing I fall over just looking at all that snow. 😢 Looks like a fun family holiday!!!
A great holiday before the start of the F1 season! Thanks for watching
lived here for 5 years, leaving next month to move to Kanazawa. It's so nice seeing great people have a good time here!
It is one of my favourite places in the world!
@@KymIllman Mine too! That and Kanazawa in Ishikawa prefecture are very beautiful
Aussies love Japan. 🍻🍻🦘🦘
bucket list for sure
Awesome camera work and so cool that you showed the snore and the falls!
Thank you very much!
Great to see all your Niseko adventures video.
Glad you like them!
Great adventures, Kym, do enjoy, and I chuckled at you snoring. You're getting very good with you videos.
The good ol snore selfie. Looking forward to the F1 2024 Season content. Might see you on track ;)
Make it happen
That snow looks gorgeous! We went to Nagano for ski and it was great experience. But next time I want to experience it at Niseko! Thanks for sharing!
You will love it
Artists from Thailand which has never seen snow has won the snow sculpture contest in Sapporo several times.
Thank you for the video! So I understand their snow powder is great, but do they have packed powder? I prefer it as the grip is better with it
@5.29 ❤ we've all been there, done that 😂
Best country and best people in the world. never skied, but have been to Japan 7 times, and want to go back. Shame it won't be in April for the GP
It’s an amazing place
Wow. Nice!
Nice indeed!

Ill live it vicariously-alas….
I heard the word duck when you fell, or was it fire truck. Hard to beep that out. Onya Kym for the realism you show in the vids👍
Thanks
Love it… not been since 2009…
Hello, what is the name of your hotel in the video you stayed at?
Looks like hell, makes me wanna go to Phuket. Enjoy!

Rusutsu I thought was a top quality mountain too.

should do a day trip to Rusutsu (Mt Isola) also excellent
I didn’t love it last time I went
Shohei Otani, the best baseball player of our generation, played for that Saporo team.
Looks good, a touch expensive I'd imagine. Roll on March 2nd.
Skiing is rarely cheap
Where about did you stay in the part where you were night skiing ?
👋🇨🇦 WOW KIM 😂 I HAVE SKI ENVEY 👏 Really enjoyed your adventures 🌟
Thanks for watching
Thanks Kym. Which resort would you recommend for a first timer skiing in Japan? Looks like you tried a few ones.
Hirafu

I’m not at that level yet
Great snow . Runs are too short . Try Utah for snow and longer runs
Skied there before. And too far from Australia
Try Sunday River in Maine
Skiing always looked fun.... but I don't enjoy the cold 😂
I’m rarely in any cold climate so it’s a nice change

Anyone else has the problem that Kyms videos don't appear in the sub feed?
For me, this one did but not the two previous.
We were testing something out for the last 2 videos. The next videos will all be in the sub feed
@@KymIllman alrighty thank you for the info ^^
Bro dropped some cash there, Niseko is not cheap, and it looks like he stayed at one of the best places.
Is or in?
Top tip, get a hire car with built in EDC so you never have to stop at a toll. Just pay when you return your car.
Good point
Please avoid Niseko it’s busy and sub par every town has a ski slope that can leave Niseko for dead FYI! (I live in Niseko)
Watch out for hidden rocks
Alert at all times.
08:16 - lol.
lol at the pronunciation of the Japanese place names. Fair enough you’re on holiday but how hard is it to even just say Niseko correctly?
Nailed it.
Your vid didn't really sell me on the location.... more the content tbh. No offence
Niseko is definitely not the best in Japan. There are far far far too many Australians there.
There are certainly a lot of of us here
And Chinese it's a s$%t hole lift lines as far as you can see and super expensive
Naa. The terrain isn't the best up there...try Nozawa Onsen near Nagano. Traditional village at the bottom of a world class snow resort.
I did that some years ago, and they had so much snow that it was impossible to get back up when I fell
@KymIllman sorry to hear that mate. Happy to give you a skiing in Powder lesson!
Love your content !
Yeah nah , way better places
Its not. Hakuba is - Niseko is flat and crowded.
ure supposed to show the ski pov, not just ur face and a map 60% of the video
Been skiing in Japan since the 80,s and apart from night-life rest assured Niseko is NOT the best skiing in Japan and far from it.Explore dudes and find for yourselves
We disagree
Please purchase your ski and snowboard gear at mom and pop shops. Shame on your stylist for the Amazon gear 😭
Stylist?

You only live once
