I never heard of a pickaroon until I seen it on his channel. I can was inspired by his that’s why I titled this video that. I don’t mind if it turns people away, I enjoyed recording the process of creating one and wanted to share with others. Thanks for the comment.
Richard Kenworthy Yes the longer and sharper the point is the more likely the tip will break off. I chose to have a tapering point that wasn’t to sharp to prevent breaking.
I think if you're careful not to overheat the metal during the process it should be mostly good. If you cause a blueing of the metal from getting too hot, it becomes brittle and can break, but if you don't do that the worst that would likely happen would be some dulling over time which is easy to fix or it could bend a bit if dropped on a rock or concrete tip first.
