It makes absolutely no sense that after reluctantly ending the life of the child that she’d let the character who just tried to frame her survive but then shooting everyone else in her way as she escaped. Crush your enemies total , keep your hands xlean" you know there was this one Chinese emperor who was drunk was sleeping out in the garden without hardly any clothing the servant saw that he must be cold because all he had on was barely even a t-shirt on the servant got him a nice warm overcoat. My point is that he was executed the next day the reason why he had this servant executed is because he felt the servant was mocking him play trying to say that he has no style or something anyways you get the gist of it my point is let's just say for argument's sake they would have stopped playing so there's an old saying it's better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war we have no idea what you know what it is to be employed where to get money so my question is why would they stop playing the first person to stop playing the first person( violnistic to get killed by belisarius)
Belisarius didn't have her killed because his dad was his whole plot to have a scapegoat he was real plot was to see whether or not she would hesitate into the fact that she hesitated that's why pin all this on her you know you have only two options in this world either you don't hesitate when somebody like your general you know tells you to do something who are you strategize and find a way to kill them when they try to pin it all on you

I recently discovered an interview with Snyder where he explains about Bailsarius betraying Kora and pinned the blame on her here what he says:
“He values nothing. He sees the kings as rotatable, but the style and the heart of the Motherworld must continue, so he would sacrifice anything for it. Kora is also in the perfect position to take the fall for the whole thing. I don’t think he sees it as necessarily a betrayal, because they’re both soldiers, and the idea of sacrificing for the Motherworld is the thing that they’d both been taught from an early age. If he talked to her, he would say, 'You were given this honor to sacrifice yourself for the royal family, to continue the line, and you selfishly ran.' So that’s how he would probably take it.”

@@karn2923 Awesome to hear, it is from the Hollywood Reporter it is titled ''Rebel Moon’ Director Zack Snyder Talks the Ending of ‘Part Two,’ Cathartic Director’s Cuts and ‘Part 3’' I have to admit I do feel bad for the actors especially Sofia Boutella, Charlotte Maggi (the actress who played sam I do hope she get better roles in the near future because I do think she is a good actress.) Staz Nair, Fra Fee, and Michael Huisman. I do hope they careers survived past this. That said the only character and actor that I considered the best part about both films is Ed Skrein he is such a saving grace for both films.
Ultimately I don't fault the actors in this film that is mostly the script and Snyder direction. (I will admit even though I'm not a fan of his rebel moon films although I thought Army of the Dead was alright mostly for Bautista, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Ella Purnell as they are always awesome in everything. That said even though he was the not right choice for the DCEU the way that Warner Bros treated him during the production was very ugly and horrible in fact I think never this type of huge fallout between a director and a major studio since Fox's treatment of David Fincher over Alien 3.
Anyway I'm very excited to see you're video you should let me know when it is uploaded I hope it isn't the same where people rant and review the film but more thoughtful analysis going the behind the scenes based on the documentary that netflix put out as well as maybe some parallels of Zack Snyder likely surrounded by yes men to Lucas's own issues when making the prequel trilogy?
Also I will admit I think Junkie XL's score for both films are great then again it is Junkie XL he is always great composing music for films like recently Furiosa. also to added for you're research for you're video maybe you could check out the rebel moon prequel comics House of Bloodaxe when discussing the bloodaxe siblings and how maybe this story should be the story both films or hell maybe General Titus should be the main character like Kora as for some reason he gives some of the arbiter vibe from halo 2 albeit when it come to his fall of grace and the loyalty and father to his men?

    • @karn2923
      @karn2923 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@WyattDucar Thank you for the response! I agree, I do feel bad for the actors as well, though they did really enjoy working with Snyder as most do, so I'm happy about that at least. It was a very positive experience for them. Gotta disagree on Noble, though. I need to rewatch Part 1 and do my comb through and refresher, but Noble's character is quite awful to the point of character assassination in Part 2(Just in case, my take on character assassination is when a character is consistently poorly written throughout and betrays their core character traits, often leading to a moment you can point to as where the rubber band breaks. Bruce Wayne in ZSJL is inconsistent throughout, consistently offering monologues that don't align with what was established in BvS or in scenes prior, wherever you're at in the film, and "Faith, Alfred! Faith!" is the straw that breaks the camel's back with how awful that is for his character). So for me, Noble's just another awful character in the film. I think Gunnar is the only good character in Part 2, though I think Nemesis is probably my favorite. Which is ironic to me, since I didn't like her at all in Part 1.
I agree, absolutely. Snyder's direction is genuinely baffling to me in this film and the writing in the film is chock full of issues. It's insane to me that they were able to create such a terrible script. I think Army of the Dead is better than Rebel Moon: Part 1 and I did sort of enjoy it, but I still consider that one pretty awful in the writing department. Still, fair enough, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I did like some of the ideas present, as I do with a lot of his work. As for his DC work, I really like Man of Steel and I honestly adore BvS to no end, so I sort of disagree with you. ZSJL and The Scargiver are right next to each other in terms of quality(I call them 2/10s, I've been trying to create a consistent scale based on writing quality) and on a personal level I hate ZSJL because of the awful continuity, terrible character work on the whole, and the cavalcade of issues. I totally understand your perspective, I just adore BvS, personally, and think it's a well written story.
Thank you! The video is patterned after MauLer's more recent Unbridled Series, so it will a bit of a rant-type video, but I'm trying to put in a lot of effort to get across how bad the writing is overall and I do agree completely that he's surrounded by yes men. I will check out the documentary and can absolutely include that in the video, I do want to talk about how much Snyder has fallen as a creator. Basically, though, I'm taking a nit and gritty chronological approach before summarizing at the end based on Snyder and his works, and the four pillars of storytelling. I feel like this film is insulting to critical thinking with how bad it is, so that's one of the reasons behind the "rant" format. But, I don't want it to be shallow or anything like that, so it's going to be several hours long going through everything I could find and it's including several interview clips already to make points about Zack's mindset and where he's gone seriously wrong. The rant format is also for entertainment, I don't want that to cost the discussion aspect, thus the several hours(there is a lot to break down, mechanically, as well). It's not a one-to-one MauLer video either, I do have my own style at play, talking about how Zack could make changes from a writer's perspective and not wanting to use strong language, along with trying to find my way as I go. If you've not seen MauLer's content, then the overall style is patterned off of his most recent works covering Black Widow, MoM, and Quantumania because I think those are some of his best works. My video's script will be around 60-65,000 words by the time it's finished and I'm aiming for 4-5 hours, 6 at the max as far as how long it'll be. (Hoping to release in September to October, but can send a message here if that still interests you, •~•)
And in case that doesn't interest you, I'm hoping to release an analysis that'll be extensive, without the anger, and will be covering as much as I can in regards to the movie in question, so that may be closer to your interests. It'll be about 14 hours based on my current metrics but I'm very early in the process, to the point that I haven't started on voice work yet. I've just written these two scripts so far. But that analysis will be very writing centric and I'd like to watch all of the interview clips I can find as part of building on what I have already. And if long form or something about this isn't your preferred style, that's totally valid, too. But both conclusions will involve the fact that Snyder started off as a much better director/storyteller and has fallen off quite a bit. I think BvS is great, and every one of his four recent films have been either 2 or 3 out of 10 because I feel like he doesn't take criticism(he actually commented on the fact that he has specific people talk to him about criticisms, he doesn't listen to general criticisms) and so I think he's lost respect for the craft along the way. He's doing whatever looks cool(my first clip in the video is him saying, "I'm going to blow stuff up and hopefully it'll look cool" because that really is what he's become) with no regard for whether it's good or not. ZSJL suffers immensely from this style over substance, as do the subsequent films, and it's a shame because I feel like BvS has that cool element, it has the slow motion, it's very much a Snyder film, but it's still very well put together and has great character work. That tangent aside, I'm just disappointed with Zack Snyder and his lack of care for writing or taking criticism and the fact that he's become a parody of himself. Everyone's criticisms of him show true in these most recent works and he's already or is in the process of destroying what was left of his reputation after Justice League, considering the mass positive response.
I honestly don't know how I feel about Junkie XL anymore myself. I did like parts of the soundtracks in both Rebel Moons, but overall really dislike his soundtrack in Justice League. Both the pieces themselves and the implementation, and speaking on a lot more than just the ancient lamentation music, though that was horribly executed too. I love his stuff in BvS, but will give his music from Furiosa a shot. I'll look into the Bloodaxe comics, yeah! I honestly hate how they've treated these characters in the movies- more so in Part 2- so I don't have a lot that's not on the negative side, but I'll check it out. That's a really neat comparison. I've not played Halo, so I'm not quite the guy to make that comparison, but from what I know that is a really cool thought. Titus does have a lot of potential as a character and I could absolutely see a good story with him as the lead, especially considering the pieces at play with him. At the same time, I do feel like Kora could be a better main character if A). They made her backstory into a full on movie and just did that(I still think Snyder would ruin it, it's not like the royal family's assassination is a good scene, but ya know, there's a lot conceptually that'd be cool to see) or B). They characterized her fully and more effectively. Like, she's just badly written, she's not inherently a bad idea. Which sucks, as does everything in this duology, because there's a lot of potential within these films and the IP but it's relegated to awful writing in so many different ways, leaving us with two disasters that don't bring much to the table. I've read people talking about why they like Part 2 and haven't found much on it yet, but it's crazy to me because I don't see what there is to even latch onto. I'll leave it at that, this is already plenty long, but these films are disappointing and make me angry because I want to love Snyder's works again, but found a film worse than Justice League, a film I considered his worst until this one finally overtook that position.
Thank you again for the response, I hope my content is something that would interest you, and if it's not, I'm sorry to disappoint, but as I have more time and get better at all of this, I do hope to improve at collecting information like that and including as part of the overall assessment, even if I'm mainly wanting to tackle the writing quality. I appreciate the time and have a good day, my friend, •~•

@@karn2923 Totally agreed with you, I think for the most part as a director Snyder is a nice guy to work (based on interviews with them like Ray Fisher.) just that he has issues when it comes his own creative decisions and the people around him not saying no to him.
With that said I do Netflix also share the blame too giving that they allow their directors and creatives to being free without studio interference in which while it is a great idea. The problem is the end product like studio interference is always terrible like we in justice league, alien 3, and the 2015 fantastic four but sometimes the end product won't turn out terrible like X-Men first class and Rogue One especially the latter re-shoots I think there should have a compromise like let Snyder release his rated r director cuts earlier but at the same time you could have make a list of scenes that should get reshoot some if not most would have improved the story.
I will admit I do like Gunnar too, in fact i do wish he was the main character of both films instead of kora like have him being the audience surrogate similar to Luke was in a New Hope and Jake Sully from the first avatar movie.
Speaking about the writing, I did noticed some inconsistencies like in part 1 the sergeant of that garrison that noble order to stay on the planet at the beginning the scene make him seem reasonable like he does bad things mostly in the banality of evil trope of the way at least compared to Marcus (the young punchable face guy that shoot Jimmy.) aggressive nature. he even feels about for the robot and asking him clean up after his second in command shoot at the robot for no reason other then showing how jimmy is no longer a fight. Yet in the farm scene he is not participating in the attack on Sam by Marcus but also even touching her and kissing Hell even telling jimmy to shoot kora while using Sam as a shield. Like I understand that Snyder wanted to show how evil these soldiers or the imperium in general. But while I think that works for Noble I do wish there was some nuance for the soldiers or the imperium instead of well what we got like not every character from the empire should be this evil like Noble you need to have a banality of evil type characters like in different franchises do that well like in Star Wars for the Galactic Empire in Andor. Halo 2 for The Covenant and even Dead Space where you have a character Samuel Irons is utologist but isn't a complete fanatic to the religion.
If I was part of the writing team I would have the sergeant stay the same as in the early scene in the day. Like Instead of doing the evil deed to sam with Marcus have him take a nap or at least try to stop this action and they supposed to be on a mission (hell the guy is older so he have enough experience too known the consequences I like the idea of the younger soldiers like Marcus doing the evil deeds adding an contrast between the older and new generation of the Imperium.) then when Kora begin to kill the soldiers and Marcus then have him using her as a shield (like he doing bad things but in a banality of evil way have him be a father to his men type character.) making his calling for Jimmy a lot more understandable as in desperate for help to fight kora before being shot by Jimmy.
I'm very interested in seeing you're video once in up out. Maybe when you are doing the research of both films for you're video you could check out the novelizations of both films and the behind the scenes book in case if you aren't sure I highly check the Rebel Moon wiki where it list everything for the media alongside the House of Bloodaxe comics as I will admit while I think both films are terrible I do find the world somewhat interesting with good worldbuilding especially the House of Bloodaxe with the character of Koseba and his son (the latter of which is the father of the bloodaxe siblings.)
I do hope you bring up the director cuts of both films once they released and they compared to the PG-13 films that we got and do you like what you didn't like within these cuts. Granted they are not out yet but still a worth bringing up in you're video.
Let me know what do think of what I said here?

@@WyattDucar Yep, 100%. Which is fascinating to me because of how well I view BvS. I honestly think that it had to do with BvS's poor reviews that he stopped caring, then everyone loved Justice League and he can make whatever he wants and everyone will love him, and now Rebel Moon is suffering because of the critical response the film is getting. A couple of redrafts could have fixed a lot, but I'm not sure he even does that anymore because I really do get an anti-craft, anti-cause and effect vibe from these works. He just doesn't care and everyone's saying yes.
Agreed as well. The balance between good studio interference and bad interference is complicated, but can be important. Rian Johnson has been able to make whatever he wants and so consistently makes works that are quite awful. I find it fascinating how TLJ and Rebel Moon: Part 2 can have such ineptitudes in the craft. So on that, the idea that Netflix giving him free reign is going to end in bad products, it just will because that's what Snyder does these days. Banking on Snyder's following that can only grow smaller if he continues to release worse stuff. It's why I want to see the extended cuts and follow Snyder's future works, because I wonder if he can make anything good again or if it'll just be the caliber of these last four movies. I think that I have a more cynical perspective of The Scargiver especially, born out of watching it three times now and combing through it, so I don't believe that a few reshoots or even the extra hour can actually fix any of what's here. I would honestly scrap it and start fresh, using some broad strokes but focusing on improving the insane number of problems in the film.
Yeah, that's fair enough. Again, for me, it comes down to the writing quality, so anyone can be the main, they just have to actually be of quality.
I'll have to rewatch the scene to know for certain if I'd categorize it as inconsistent, but I completely agree. Marcus is incredibly over the top to the point of ruining my suspension of disbelief, he's just obnoxious and unrealistic and no one around him seems to care, which is especially annoying because Faunus(the commander of the team) lacks a spine enough to keep him in line. I also think that they're incongruent with Kora's explanation of the Motherworld forces and then we've got everyone on the dreadnought in 2 acting differently on top of that, so it's an all around awful aspect of the film. I think toning it down and, like you said, making Faunus more nuanced instead of being just as evil as everyone else would make it a lot more interesting. Gosh, I get so sick of the lack of conflict anywhere in Part 2 that it especially irks me that Noble's comment about firing the grain doesn't lead to anything. Cassius says, "But sir, the soldiers will be caught in the blast" or something, then he conforms. The movie refuses any chance for conflict between characters unless it's good team vs bad team. I adore Andor, so I love hearing that get referenced, and I absolutely agree. Luthen Rael is one of my favorite characters in all of Star Wars because of the moral grayness, the level of nuance they have.
I like your idea, and it gives some comeuppance to Marcus straight from James, which I think would be neat to add in too. The ambiguity of what the motivation is before it gets explored would be fun.
Thank you! That really does mean a lot, and as much as it'll be a bit rough given that it's the first I've made, I do hope it turns out good enough for people to enjoy. I'm most afraid of the voice work lol, but I'm excited to get it finished up and released. I'm not opposed to either of those ideas and will look into more. I've heard that the novelizations are over the extended cuts, which complicates things because of Zack's comments on what those mean, but it would be interesting to look into. I honestly didn't walk in wanting to hate these films, I didn't expect much, but I hoped that Part 1 might be better since Zack had an opportunity to really put forth his best work, and then I expected another Part 1 when I watched Part 2 and instead felt like I was being insulted for critical thinking, thus the passion to make a 5 hour or whatever video. The world really does seem cool and I'll look into that comic, it just sucks because I have no faith in Snyder anymore and this duology is just a disaster.
I intend to release the video around September or October and I'm hoping to get the script portion done in July, so I should be able to watch through the extended cuts and have enough perspective to include in the video without it interrupting the overall process too much. I'll really just have to watch them first, but I think I mention them as part of the conclusion because of the connection and to address why there is worth in breaking down the PG-13 version. I don't want to make promises about making content or anything, but depending on the extended cuts, I might do a trilogy of videos basically doing chronological assessments of both and then an autopsy at the end going over the mechanics and quality of the duology, then comparing to the 2 hour cuts to see if they're better or worse and why. So for now, I think I will put in stuff about the extended cuts when those release because my video will release after they have, but obviously that'll be a process in of itself.
I appreciate the thoughtful response, this stuff is a passion of mine because I love the craft of writing and I love exploring all aspects of it, so discussing media like this is a lot of fun. Rebel Moon: Part 2- The Scargiver has been on my mind for the past two and a bit months, so it's especially fun to talk about that and my perspective. Plus, I have a lot of passion in regards to Snyder because he's made my favorite movie and my least favorite movie, not to mention the other projects I've watched and will watch out of curiosity.

She had no allies and the senator just took over the ship so they have control. Also why is there a senate when they have monach system of a king and queen. Julius ceasaer may have become a dictator but the senators attacked him because once he is a dictator then the republic system will end. Zack just thought of some cool idea and didnt double check his work and logic before publishing this thing. Dont get me wrong, i am generally less crtical on movies because i dont expect them to be perfect even though these cost millions to produce, but Zack really made 2 bad fillms. Zack can do well if he didnt have 100% control over everything in the movie, for example they should have 2 or 3 writers that have worked on successfull franchies releated open world and scifi for the plot while Zack directed that movie and also shared his vision and writers can tell why its a stupid idea so he wouldnt add them. Then another one in charge of the effects so we dont see these unnecessary slow mos when not needed. The tension is really cringy sometimes, which is the last thing you wanna do for a bad movie

I haven't seen Fra Fee other movies or what else he appeared in. The only thing I remember was Hawkeye and I will admit he was really in the role in fact even though the Marvel shows are trash I do like Hawkeye especially it gives me vibes from classics films like Leon The Professional as well as the Matt Fraction 2012-2015 run on the Hawkeye comic series Pius I think Hailee Steinfeld was perfect as Kate Bishop.
So based on that I don't think Fra Fee is a bad actor In fact I do think he is an already/good actor but like I said just given bad script and direction also the difference between him and someone like Nicholas Cage is that Cage has decides of experience when it come to acting. Where as Fra Fee is a young actor compared to Cage.
You make an excellent point about Kora age's The Fact that she was supposed 18 to 19 in the flashback scene while Sofia Boutella the actress who played Kora is 42 years old is a bizarre. That would be much better casting choice, While I don't Sofia Boutella is a bad actress (she does have good movies pius I do respect her having went from Madonna Back up dancer to literally movie star.) I agree with you that Hailee Steinfeld or Sophie Thatcher would be much better casting choices for Kora not only for well reliability but also showing us the loss of innocence as I can defitively buy that literally Child of War as well making her relationship with the princess and to a lesser extent Sam a lot more personal.
I will admit the fact the royal family only consist of three members is a bit unrealistic considering the royal family had been in power for thousands of years meaning that would included cousins, second cousins and other distant relations. For an example in History it was just 7 members of the Romanov family that were killed by the Soviets it was also included Tsar Nicholas II's brother Grand Duke Michael and his own family as well. So It would make more sense The Royal Family would include more members. I understand it mostly for simplistic reasons but still unrealistic. If I was Snyder not only I would have cast not only Carly Elwes (Loved him as an actor and I do admit the makeup for him as the King is pretty convincing but still the dialogue he says is pretty hilariously bad that I'm sure it would become a meme in future. I do feel bad for the child actress who played the princess I don't the Internet to give her too much hate look at what happened to Jake Lloyd.) The Actresses for the queen and princess but also maybe casting extra members of the royal family whether they are known actors or just background extras. It would make Bailarius becoming Regent much more believable.
Not gonna lie for some reason the backstories for the characters is a bit underwhelmed while I could buy the backstories for Titus, and Milius as the former was a general for the imperium while the latter was a slave for some reason I don't buy the backstories for Nemesis and Tarak as well as blaming on the Imperium.
I understand that Snyder want to have the Imperium to be this evil roman expansionist empire but considering this is a huge galaxy but still having them tying with the backstories for Nemesis and Tarak explaining their hatred for them is a bit off.
If I was Snyder I would have remove the Imperium being part of their backstories for some reason I like the idea of Nemesis being this Ronan type character like maybe her village was attack by raiders hence why she go on to become Vengence maybe in her vengeance she slaughter everyone who is the dark path like the high ranking Imperium officials that was mention in part 1 essentially making them completely unrelated to them the only reason she hates them is because to her she wants justice and well they are evil.
Same with Tarek instead of his planet being attack and invaded by the Imperium I would rather it be just him leaving on his own accord with his planet being spared and left alone by the Imperium essentially he wants to become an adventurer not some royal prince so he left his family and travel the galaxy being his luck run out resulted him becoming a slave you could have his hatred for the Imperium being more due to their treatment of the innocents during his travels of the galaxy not some victim of an invasion by them. Ultimately I like to have both Tarek and Nemesis completely different backstories rather then the same the imperium came and destroyed their love ones it was ok with Kora, Milius, and to a lesser extent Titus but just get redundant with Nemesis and Tarek's backstories?

I love this scene. It plays out like a dramatic Roman play. I also like how they have musicians playing because it seems to be tradition to have a band play when something important happens, like how the King was there to witness his daughter Issa perform her first royal duty as princess. It seems like the killers saw this as an important event that should be treated as such. The Royal family's death had to be an event for them, not just a simple assassination

@@MrImastinker I mean I don't hate it but it is bad. so bad it's funny. 2:03 the makeup on this guy, his acting, the acting from everyone in this scene tbh it's definitely bad. And the quartet changing up the music depending on what is happening is totally something my brother and I would do when our sisters fight over something petty lmao

I felt like it was very stupid that he prepares her to kill the white dude. Screams to kill the kid, but then tells guards to arrest her. Like idk, it is not logical. How hard was it to do anything better. Is it something from Snyder's tragic time with his child? Because I do not get it.

And now you will be crusifed. Sorry, mate, but you cannot write anything other than "WAAAH, THIS IS THE WORST THING EVER, I HATE SNYDER HE IS WORSE THAN HITLER" while the mob is raging, so, it was nice meeting you.

The drinker rips this specific scene apart in one of his vids, this is soooooo so god damn bad like not even first draft bad. The blindfolded violinists clearly have rehearsed the living hell out of their symphony, know exactly when to heighten the tension in their palying to correspond with the emperor queing into the situation of his own assassination 😂

I can't stop laughing! LOL. That king looks like he's played by Will Ferrell.
