Bird has played 1 through 5 in his career. Better court general and leader and got his whole team involved making them play harder. Bird was a savant on the floor and hardly ever missed a clutch shot and was defended harder in a more physical Era. KD Is great. No denying it. Bird still slightly better. As far as KD being 7 foot and shooting over people, Bird was 6' 10" and did the same thing. Mass respect for KD though. I have seen both players live and pick Bird.

I was saying that IF he had played in TODAYS NBA , his stats would definitely be better. It’s not the physical game that was played back then. I would like your opinion On do you think Durant or any other player of THIS ERA would have the same or better stats playing in BIRDS ERA? I was fortunate to have watched Bird live and have had a love of the game all these years. I respect great players from all eras. Hopefully you can learn to appreciate them all.

Larry Bird was the better player overall, but it was because he had to be. Playmaking ability, I see Bird as number 1. He was virtually clairvoyant when it came to his ability to know where everyone would be on the court and ability to deliver the highest percentage of a good scoring opportunity. I actually think KD would admit that Bird is better overall.

The Celtics drafted Bird a year before he was able to join the league. I hated Bird my whole life (from near Boston but was a Jordan fan) but he was one of a kind.
Bird is a Point Power Stretch Forward. He is the ONLY player EVER to average atleast 24 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for his CAREER.. he was a playmaking, 3 point shooting double double big, AND made three all defensive 2nd teams, led the league in defensive winshares 3 or 4 times (only 3 players have EVER done that) and shot 50/40/90 TWICE (only steve nash has done that in multiple seasons)... Bird literally did it ALL. fundementals, hustle, clutch.. could move without the ball like a shooting guard, could post up from ANYWHERE and take it to the hoop. He passed like a point guard, shot like a shooting guard, ran the floor and like a small forward, got rebounds and posted down low like a big..

Bird had major surgery on both achilles, a broken back, a mangled hand and still dominated everyone. There shooting %'s are virtually even. KD avg more 3pt attempts accounts for the slight edge in points/gm. Bird avg more rebounds, assist, steals. He has more rings. More MVP's. Hit more game winners. So what exactly makes KD better? Because he jumps higher? Because he is a little faster/quicker? Because you think KD beats Legend one on one? Last I checked, they play 5 on 5, not one on one.

Just one question I love that you are reacting and still showing some respect towards his game that you can see through the little highlights but if you're not willing to watch a game of his but you're willing to make judgments on his game seems kind of close-minded so you can't possibly make a good decision without Watching one of his games fully you'll be completely shocked because he's like a highlight real and in just 1 game. Can you say kd is better than bird if you took a prime Larry and dropped him in the league today? Sure but can you say kd is farther above league averages than bird was in his era no you can't bird was just so far ahead of his time. He had five season shooting 40% from three and oh yeah they only added the 3pt line his rookie year where he shot 40% and league average was 28% that year... League average is 35-36% imagine a season where someone is 12% better than that? Comparing numbers of different eras is crap. Rules change. The game changes. Compare them to how much better they were against their own time...
