The last step is to compile your system with x86v4 optimizations and also do the same with java + Linux kernel adjusted for gaming by using for example the Linux-tkg project. I am really curious what are the boundaries of overoptimalization :)
I actually broke Guiny's record about 5 days ago when I was also attempting to break the record, I got (at peak) 20,817 fps. This still beats it though lol For the record my hardware is a Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16IRX8, Intel Core i9-13900HX, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 (mobile), 32GB RAM. I did it on Minecraft 1.7.10 (Lunar Client) on Linux while most other graphical stuff was not running. Maybe I will try again someday... I didn't record it because OBS drops MC's fps by about 8000 just by running :(

I do think a 7800X3D (with unlocked power limits) is better for Minecraft, since it's a single core game. E cores are already a waste of money for most games, but for Minecraft it's even less worth it. Surely it could be used to beat this record

If I had infinite money I can almost definitely beat this. Using better hardware, a more lightweight linux setup like openbox or just X with no WM, better optimization mods on 1.20 such as nvidium or VulkanMod, can probably crack 30000fps
@@bearfm last time I tried to install LFS it wouldn’t boot and I have no idea where I made a mistake. However I can install Gentoo and while that may not be as optimized as LFS, it’s still way faster than arch.

You wouldn’t want to get beaten by a Vtuber with less than 100 subs would you? No optimization with binary packages could ever get infinitesimally close to the power of native compiled packages

I think the fps display actually lowers your fps by a lot. You should get an external program to monitor it instead. I think the one by Nvidia is good.
I don't know if you used the Linux Console to help with FPS, but there are some commands that allow you to earn practically double, but it depends on Linux.
I suppose, one could additionally try overclocking, water-cooling and using a more optimized Java JRE (e.g. Adoptium 21.X.X) together with a better Garbage Collector (Shenandoah Generational or ZGC Generational).
Awesome, my most I was able to get was around 1050 fps on Minecraft 1.20 using a bunch of optimization mods in fabric on windows 11 in a core I 5 11400f and Gtx 1660ti at 1080p in a normal smp server at 6 chunks render distance

Lunar, in my experience is a slightly bloated client. I ran it on a very crappy HP laptop with an iGPU and it was horrendous. So here's what i have done. I Got myself an NMVe, gone with the bare-metal raw Arch-Linux (not the other distros that are based on it), used XFCE Desktop Environment under LightDM (Light Desktop Manager), installed a CLI-based launcher like PortableMC, installed Sodium and its Optimizers, Gave MC around 8GB of RAM or more, Got a texture-simplifying texturepack and ran the game and spawned myself in a block-less world (skyblock world but without the island so its just me and the void), flew down until the skybox is not loading anymore and then checked my FPS. results were good. Around 200FPS ftw. do the same thing and you should experience the same but with more FPS. Wana go even further? run the game at its first version with mods, create a world where its just you and the void with mods, disable said mod, and load the world in (0 block world), and the rest must be done. You're welcome. I probably might have gotten you around 1-2k FPS more from that.
