Iraqi Taxi driver won't let me pay | Vlog Soran / Rawanduz | mE 51

  • First, I walk in Soran and get a falafel sandwich, then I walk from Soran to Rawanduz to discover with you a wonderful canyon. Then, I hitchhike back to Soran... a taxi driver offers me a free ride despite my insistence to pay. After that, I get a juice, some biscuits, and other local delicacies for dinner.

1:34 the shops are "close” because people are going to pray, but they will be back after praying. Many of them are open like juice shop, they don’t close the shop, they just leave 😂 ( people trust each other. 🙌🏻❤️)

When people in Kurdistan say, ‘you don’t have to pay’ it’s mostly symbolic. Normally you should insist and pay anyway.

Hi Yves, you were lucky that a Kurdish girl stopped you. Normally Kurdish girls don't talk to strangers but she was brave girl. Of course she was too nervous but it was probably something she had never done. That show how much Kurdish people want to connect with the world. You should've got her contact or talked to her more. Hopefully you had good experiences traveling Kurdistan.

The girls aré not supposed to talk with men outside His family... But of course, she Fancies you... AND she was brave to talk to you (like the woman with her daughter from mosul... ) She was nervious 1. Was speaking English not her own language (reminds me my first encounters with foreigner... ) 2. Was talking with a male foreigner. It seems it's Easy to talk with male friends than female ones. Nice video... So yummy all the food you show... Greetings from Argentina...

Just out of curiosity, would she even be allowed to meet with Yves for ,let's say, dinner, or a cup of tea at the family house?
She seems like a traditional Muslim, and I thought Muslimas weren't allowed to date Western men?
Or do Christian Kurdish women also wear scarfs?
