A lot of people throughout the years have been asking me how to do these weapon animations. I play on the keyboard so I'm not sure how it is on the controller, but to use the weapon animations, you just have to press and hold 1 on your keyboard, but you need to be in base form (no weapon equipped). By holding 3, you'll get the shield/armor animation, depends on what you selected in that weapon circle. Hope this helps

How Heller defeated 'this' is just beyond me. I mean sure Heller got insanely powerful, but come on, where were all these techniques during the 'Murder your Maker fight' with Heller.
Mercer absorbed Elizabeth Greene and a whole bunch of hunters and brawlers and creatures, acquired their abilities and survived a literal nuke at point blank range, yet in Prototype 2, even after consuming all of the "evolved" and becoming EVEN MORE POWERFUL, he didn't use any of his devastators or his armor and musclemass or literally any powers and moves he had access to and he lost to a fake underpowered version of himself with a way more limited moveset. I mean the guy was throwing helicopters at Heller and jumping around doing nothing, it made zero sense and was just overall bad writing and power scaling :/

They tried some innovations with that "brawler formation" move or detaching the minigun from helicopters, having unique consume animations for brawlers, but aside from that, every consume animation was recycled from P1, the movement was stiff and not fluid, there were no parkour animations, it was janky and not smooth, and Heller didn't even have a move list. Like each of his weapons has about 3 moves and that's it. Not to mention no devastators (only that one biomass expulsion move). I liked that biobomb kick move and the fact that you could combine 2 weapons and use them at the same time, but it was still weird and impractical. Not to mention that the map was really bad. Wish there were an alternate ending to this, like Mercer-Heller team-up against a super badass hybrid of a Goliath-Juggernaut-hunter which would have a mind of it's own. During battle Heller dies saving Mercer, sort of. Then Mercer would have a change of heart and change his way of doing things. Might sound kinda racist there, but come on, there's no one replacing Mercer.

It's completely stupid and senseless. If Prototype 3 ever comes out, I hope Mercer somehow emerges out of Heller as a changed man or sth, but we know that ain't happening and Prototype 3 will prolly never even be released :/

I think the animations in the first game only activate if you're standing still. If you're moving when you change powers, I think it just has Alex keep running while the power changes.
Mercer is like an combination of: Albert Wesker...carnage..... Deadpool.... Riot....... sabertooth...... wolverine....... mystique........ Spiderman......... juggernaut........ Osmund saddler..... and the uroboros parasite....... and t virus= the black light virus=prototype Plus he can adsorb evolve and mutate to become even more op.......

Played Prototype 2 some years ago and recently just re completed it last year for achievements and nostalgia, never got a chance to play the first. How would you guys compared going from 2 to 1?
I played Prototype 1 first. Needless to say it quickly became one of my favorite games of all time and still is. I played Prototype 2 a year after 1 and there was even a short period when I preferred Prototype 2 to 1, I guess simply because it was a new and fun experience. But I soon realized that while they were both great games, Prototype did a lot of things better than Prototype 2. The map feels more immersive and lively, the mechanics are smoother and more flexible, Alex just feels like a better protag overall and is more badass, his powers were also a lot better (armor, devastators, musclemass), the effects were more impactful, etc. Prototype 2 even recycled some animations from P1 and Manhattan was really bad. Like it was just blurry and full of debris and buildings that seemed out of place and too densely packed. There was nothing there. The other areas are at least populated, but smaller overall. Tho P2 did have some great new things like commanding brawlers, the brawler consumption animations and the animations for destroying tanks and helicopters, or ripping the minigun from the heli, etc. I also like how you could use 2 weapons at once in P2, but I still think that both games should've implemented a weapon switch mechanic mid combo like in DMC, but I guess that this franchise doesn't exactly focus on stylish combos, as the moves usually affect the environment and most NPCs (pedestrians, zombies) die in one hit, with the exception of brawlers. Overall i'd say Prototype (1) is better than Prototype 2, at least in my opinion, but they're definitely both really amazing games, and there's no doubt about it :D
@@PECULIAR773 I totally agree prototype 1 has a lot of things that are better than the sequel hell in prototype 1 you can do combos with just your fits in 2 you can only do the same basic move plus you have more powers and abilities in the first game unlike in 2. Prototype 1 has the better gameplay. Which sounds ironic given that P2 is the sequel. You have more options regarding superpowers and such. Also when it comes down to disguises. Many say that the story sucked hiwever i believe that it was authentic. The way the military worked and reacted is so well made and i havnt found any other game doing the same. Its weird that they removed it all in P2.
I know this is late and you probably don't care much anymore but you basically hold down on your selected power when selecting with the D pad and it'll activate the animations
@@IamaFork holding 3 will activate the animation for your armor or shield. Holding 1 will activate the animation for whichever weapon you have equipped. But you have to be unarmed
I dont know if anyone tried this but, when you charge your jump and release it, then hitting the dash twice when You are like 4 feet above the ground gives you a higher jump than the maxed jump. Damn i killed this game for hours even after finishing it!

For consoles it's a press and hold on which power you want to use from the d-pad.

Many say that the story sucked hiwever i believe that it was authentic. The way the military worked and reacted is so well made and i havnt found any other game doing the same.

wait how do i do that when switching to powers? mine doesn't look cinematic
I know this is late and you probably don't care much anymore but you basically hold down on your selected power when selecting with the D pad and it'll activate the animations
If i had a quirk this would probably be it.

While unarmed, hold "1" on your keyboard.

@@IamaFork holding 3 will activate the animation for your armor or shield. Holding 1 will activate the animation for whichever weapon you have equipped. But you have to be unarmed

I dont know if anyone tried this but, when you charge your jump and release it, then hitting the dash twice when You are like 4 feet above the ground gives you a higher jump than the maxed jump. Damn i killed this game for hours even after finishing it!
